So far, so good
It's been almost three months since I started my journey. The whole thing started after my father in law had a heart attack, then by-pass surgery, and then a stroke. I watched that and decided I didn't want to put my wife through all of that if I had a choice. My father in law came out of the whole thing shockingly well,…
Getting started (Again)
Well, like many of you I've lost and gained weight many times over the years. It wasn't until 3 weeks ago that things finally got real. I watched my father in law go through quadruple bypass surgery, and then have a stroke. I knew then that I never wanted to put my kids and wife through that. I'm glad to say that my father…
Looking for additional support!
Like many of you I've been up and down in weight over the years. I believe I've finally gotten to the point where I'm ready to take the weight off for good. It would be awesome to have some friends here to push me through!
Looking for new friends!!
I'm trying to get back on track after reaching a very, very long plateau and need some new friends for support!!! Feel free to send friend requests etc. It would be nice to find some people who are doing long distance run training also :)
I ran 11 miles today, my longest distance run yet. I feel so good I had to share! :-)

Anyone here do any barefoot or minimalist shoe running? I've been running for a few months and generally do about 15-20 miles a week. I've been seeing quite a bit of buzz about bare foot running and the benefits of it. I was just curious if anyone here has tried it.
I put on a pair of levis that haven't fit in years!!! I've gone from a size 40 waist to a 36. I also jogged 3 miles yesterday. Who knew that fitness was a good thing ?
I'm a 42 year old male who had a rather startling realization about my weight this summer. I got on the scale and saw that I was 278lbs. This is the heaviest I had ever been and I realized it was time to do something. I began to do research and decided not to go with a "program" but instead cut my calories, eat healthy…
