1st Pregnancy Weight Gain
I'm 32 years old, and started out my pregnancy pretty overweight. 5'8 and 193. I'm at 24 weeks now and 199. I have a Fitbit Charge 2, and I've decided to start counting calories again to try to reign in the weight gain for the upcoming third trimester, which I'm terrified of. I keep having to remind myself how much I…

Anyone heard of GoBe?
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/healbe-gobe-the-only-way-to-automatically-measure-calorie-intake What does everyone think? Many people seem to think it's impossible for this to work with ANY amount of accuracy. The creators apparently say that it's 88-92% accurate in determining calories consumed. That seems pretty…

Orange Theory
Anyone been to Orange Theory? My boyfriend and I are fighting about it right now (the cost). I've been to a few of the classes. I was hooked after the first one last week, and felt GREAT (just the right amount of sore). I signed up that day. They offered 1 class/week for $60/month, 2/week for $90 (that's after a $10…

They have WHAT on their menu?
Name something that you would never order at THAT restaurant. Example: today I saw a "Garden Isle" flatbread at Tilted Kilt. My boyfriend often says "you may as well order a meatloaf sandwich as a bowling alley" when menu items clearly don't belong at the venue.

Accurate Calorie-Counting Technology?
I find it very hard to believe that there's not more technology available for accurately counting your calories. Is there not a UV light or a radio wave that can track them? For example, why is there not a food scale available where you place your plate on it, and it "scans" your meal, and reports the exact number of…

Food Preoccupation
I think about food 24/7. Biologically, I "shouldn't" be fat. I know it. Even though everyone in my family is obese. I have high enough metabolism. Whether I"m eating or not, I'm always thinking of my next meal/snack/drink. Is anyone else like this? Please add me. I need the support.

"Bang for Your Calorie" snacks
I've been snacking on Goldfish at work lately because it's 200 calories for a relatively large amount, that can keep my hands and mouth busy for awhile.. I need more work snack ideas--non perishable and non refridgerated, preferably 300 cals or below (something to quell the mid-shift munchies for a couple hours until…

How to GET a butt?
I'm trying to lose weight off my back and waist, but I would like to put mass on my glutes (I have a flat butt). I've been doing lots of squats and lunges with kettlebells. It seems to be helping. Any other suggestions?

Any large framed people out there?
I recently got a measuring tape and did all the different tests, and every time I fit squarely into the "large" frame category. I'd always kind of suspected that, and it makes me feel a little better about my weight. I'm 5'8 and 151 lbs. According to most charts I look at this is in the lower 50% of the "healthy" weight…

Dumb Question about Intervals
I have a dumb question, sorry if I hurt anyone's brain. I was never the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Say you're running, weight lefting, kettlebelling, etc etc etc in intervals, one minute on, one off, or two on one off, or what have you. Do you log the *full* workout time under "interval" training, or do you just log…

Sugary Drink Ban
What do you think about the sugary drink ban that was proposed in NY earlier this year? Many people say it falls under "nanny state", but, does providing medical aid via tax dollars to these obese, diabetic people that result from excessive consumption of these beverages not fall under "mommy state"? Thoughts?

Protein Shakes vs Shots?
Anyone with any insight on this? I have some protein powder (chocolate coconut candy bar flavor yum!!!!) that I use sometimes for recovery that tastes really good. It's 150 cals per scoop. I also just ordered some protein shots. They're 128 calories. They claim they digest easier and hit your "system" faster. Thoughts?

Third Shifters?
Are there any other third shift folks out there? I could use some support. I work 11pm to 9am, and my problem is usually that by the time I get off work, most of my calories are already used up. Also, I'm tired all the time. Add me as a friend!

20 lbs in 2 months?
I've been sitting on my last 20+ lbs since June of last year--gaining and losing the same 5 lbs over and over again ever since (SW: 175; GW: 130; CW: 153). I'm tired of it!!! I'm 28 years old, 5'8 and work out 3-5 days a week (usually jogging 4-7 miles). Who wants to motivate each other to push on through and lose 20 lbs…
