Resting Heart Rate
According to my HR monitor, my resting heart rate on average is between 69-80. I think 80's a bit high and I am wondering if this is a concern since I am very active and I walk all day at work. Shouldn't I be burning more calories with a higher resting heart rate? Any ideas/suggestions?

Backwards self-image
So this might be weird for most people (particularly woman), but I see myself in the mirror as only a bit overweight in my stomach and love handles, but when I take pictures of myself, I see something completely different! I look so much FATTER than I thought I was. What is going on here? I feel like I have little body fat…

HR Question (again)
So I was curious. My resting HR is pretty high (70-85) but I work out a lot and I am very healthy. I am only 20lbs away from my target goal and I barely have much body fat left on my body (it is mostly muscle). I am an avid bicyclist and I work out at least 3 times a week (mostly cardio/circuit training). I recently…

Scale wrong?
Just curious if this has happened to anyone else. I weigh myself at work on this pretty old scale. I weighed myself about 3 days ago and it read 163.5. i weighed myself the next day and it read 157. I read it today and it said 156! There is no way I am losing weight that fast! i haven't really been eating any less in the…

High resting Heart Rate?
Hello. This is probably a weird concern, but is it bad that my resting heart rate (according to my heart rate monitor) is in the upper 70's to early 80's? This seems REALLY high to me. I should be as skinny as a stick if this is normal! Could my heart rate monitor be off? When I am just walking at a moderate pace my HR is…

Stevia! The "new" sweetner
So I just thought I would share my ideas about the plant based sweetener called Stevia. I just recently discovered Stevia as a great sweetener in my Earl Grey Tea. I love having a bit of sweetness in my tea, but I always feel regret when I use Splenda or asparatame. My gut tells me that both of these unnatural sweeteners…

Anytime now...
So i made my profile public for once because I am sick of what my food addiction is doing to my mind! I feel like I eat healthy (minus my sweet tooth), yet I am at a stand still. I work out 4 to 5 times a week. I do Circuit Training (Chalean) at least 3 times a week and I have been doing this since June. Nothing lost in…

50 Mile Hike Weight Gain
So... I have been on here for about 9 weeks. I haven't lost a single pound or inch. I eat the amounted calories per day and sometimes go over/under. I went on a 50 mile STRENUOUS backpacking trip this weekend up several small mountains. I went from 500 feet to about 7,000 feet in one day. I just weighed myself first thing…

Need Suggestions about not going over calories
I don't know if I have the willpower to eat only 1460 calories a day anymore. In order to lose a lb a week, I need to be eating this amount. I have been very active and eating much better than have ever in my life for the past 6 weeks. I burn on average 800 calories/day and I haven't lost any weight or inches. I am so…

I don't poop anymore!
I don't know if this is normal, but I don't really poop anymore. It has been about 6 wks since I started heavily working out and counting my calories. My best guess is that I consume all my calories during the day and I have nothing left to make a bowel movement! I hope this is normal at first. When i do have a bowel…

Going to give up this time. Seriously.
Been working out with circuit training (Chalean), running, bicycling, etc. for 5 weeks now. Have not lost any weight or inches from my body. I burn about 600 calories on average/day from exercise alone and I eat my exercise calories! I eat well and don't go over my calories very often. I am eating about 1700 calories on…

Muscle gain or fat gain?
I have been busting my but for the past 2 weeks working out and have gained 5lbs. I'm sure this is muscle, but this is such a huge DE-motivator! I want to give up! What are the chances that this is actual FAT gain vs. muscle gain? I know muscle weighs more than fat, but like I said, this is not helping my self confidence…

Strength Training-why does it not count for calories lost on
Maybe I missed this somewhere in the fine print of this website, but does anyone understand or know why strength training exercises don't count for calories burned? I enter many strength training exercises everyday (ChaLean workout program) and receive no idea about how many calories I burn from it. If anyone has advice on…
