NSV at the gym
Managed to squat 3 plates for the first time in over ten years. The last time I did that I was a young 20 something hitting the gym 6 days a week. Not bad for pushing 40. My back might not like me tomorrow though. And yes I was using a belt.

Painful lesson learned
Many years ago my recovery from leg day was usually pretty painful. I discovered how to fix my problem was doing some cardio after. Spending only 10 minutes on the stair climber was enough to burn off all the lactic acid from my Quads and Hamstrings (my two biggest muscles groups). I wasn't really interested in treadmills…

Shortening

For the past three years I worked out at home. When I used to work out at the gym I was doing a three day split, Day 1 chest/back, Day 2 Arms (including shoulder), Day…

Teriyaki Marinated Chicken
I make a teriyaki marinade for chicken and beef. Its equal parts sugar and soy sauce (at least one cup), garlic and ginger. One cup of soy has a really large sodium content. Since I'm only marinading my chicken for a couple days would it still have such a high sodium content?

Calorie values for chicken.
I was reviewing some of recipies and something puzzled me. I cook with both chicken legs back attach and frozen chick breasts. According to the nutritional values on the box of my chicken breasts the calorie value is calories per 100g (or 680 for the entire recipe). Chicken legs, I just chose a value from the database and…

Eating when your not hungry
I have a night job on week-ends so I usually sleep in on week-ends also. This means I loose about 1/4 of my day. I usually eat three healthy meals a day. However some of my meals, like my dinner this past week, have a low calorie count. I made chicken breasts, zucchini, tomatoes and corn. Healthy and filling, but only 360…

Advice needed
So since I got a digital cam time to post an image of my biggest "issue". Althought I have decent 6 pack I still have what I refer to as "love handles". Little rolls right above my hips that go around my back and become "back fat". I hate them. I try to work out 5-6 days a week. I run a few km's, I'm running 4.5 minute…

Homemade soup
How do I calculate calories, carbs etc for homemade soup. If I enter a new recipie it asks for how many people it serves. I just make a big pot and have a cup at a time. There are already tons of homemade soups in the data base already.
