Stray moggie problem
The cat in my display pic is a daily visitor and for a while I thought he was homed and was just a greedy puss supplementing his meals at my expense but hes getting skinnier, tattier and dirtier looking and I now think hes a stray. Today I stroked him and recoiled in horror at what felt like tumours along his side. On…

Raw food diet for CATS...anyone do this?
Hi, very "off topic" but thats why I've posted it in chit chat. I'm looking into introducing and converting or supplementing my cats commercial cat food pouch diet with raw food, raw meaty bones etc, partly for cost and partly because I looked at the ingredients on the pouches (dieters habit I guess!) and they're nothing…

Does V02 MAX have an impact on BMR
My BMR is given as 2096. I know this is far from correct as when I was consuming 1600 -1800 calories I was still gaining at around 3-4lb a month. I did this from jan to may last year just in case I'd wrecked my metabolic rate from eating erratically so I think 4 months gave it plenty of time. I then dropped to 1300 -1500…

HRM help
I have aquired a HRM...It does have the chest strap etc but as far as I can tell it only records heart rate. I have checked and its accurate on the BPM. There are no instruction manuals online, its a basic model used by schools (my son was given it as new supplies were coming in) What I need to know is how (if there is a…

Foot cramps
The last couple of days I've had some pretty severe foot cramps. My whole foot and toes are like you'd see in rigor mortis and extremely painful (my kids think its hilarious seeing my foot contorted!) I'm not dehydrated, salt intake has dropped slightly but nothing drastic. Anyone have any ideas what is likely to be…

I cant eat what my report recommends
I can't eat my calories, they are set way too high but have no idea how I can reduce this amount. I maintained my (hefty) weight on 1400-1600 calories for about 6 weeks when previously it was going up around 2-3lb a month. What the calculator doesn't take into consideration is a VERY sedentary life. Housebound, a flight of…

When did you first see a difference
I have a long way to go yet but have so far lost 12lbs in 4 weeks. I haven't noticed any difference yet. The tape measure used to vary greatly anyway so I can't go by that. I'm just wondering when anyone else that was 75lbs + over, first noticed, how many pounds made a noticeable difference by sight or clothing? Really am…

Newbie saying hi
Hi all. New here and so far very impressed, especially with the tools for calculating calories in home made meals...I rarely buy ready made stuff. I started my diet on the 5th September weighing in at 18 stone 1. whoa, writing that down was hard! Its hard to say what I've truly lost as I've been ill the last week so quite…
