Hey guys, I'm nothing on a bike BUT I want to spend this October forcing myself to pedal on through and get my fitness up a notch. I've finished my final medical school exams and with 2 months until graduation, what better time to get into shape. AND WHAT BETTER CAUSE THAN TO JOIN THE GREAT CYCLE CHALLENGE. The great cycle…

TapOut Xt'ers willing to share and support?
Hey guys, I heard about TapOut XT recently as a friend of my partner's had started it and really enjoyed it. I was tossing up between doing this and signing up to a bootcamp but for money reasons decided to stick with TapOut. I've just finished Day 10 and I'm really enjoying it, it really pushes me and I feel like it works…

Home workout vs boot camp?
Hey guys Please please please load me up with some advice! I'm graduating from medical school at the end of the year and want to be in optimal shape for graduation. Last year I lost 10kg working out at home by myself, just doing whatever workout I could find. Regained 6 and then lost 7 in a boot camp earlier this year.…

65 roses month - help me support cystic fibrosis!
Hey guys, May is 65 roses month in Australia - a fundraising month for cystic fibrosis. I was a bit slow to catch on but please help me in my fundraising efforts for this amazing cause! Every year, cystic fibrosis affects around 3000 Australian and 30 000 American children; it is one of the most common life threatening…

Ashy Bines
Hey guys, I am just finishing my 10th week of Ashy Bines Bikini Body Challenge, which is a boot camp in heaps of locations around Australia (expanding to the US and further). I had read all these testimonials and success stories and although it sounded good, I didn't think it would be that great for me. After losing 10kg…

Lost weight but gained body fat?
Hi guys, I just have a quick question -- I started a boot camp 2 weeks ago which involves 3 x 1 hour sessions a week and has a clean eating diet plan to go with it. I have changed my diet mostly (still 1 - 2 meals a week that aren't amazing, but much better on the whole) and eating much more protein and much less carbs,…

Yummy Sweet Potato Fries :)

Need more motivating friends!
Hey guys, I joined in July (I think, or end of June) and did really well - achieved my goal in a decent time frame and was going great. However it's quite obsessive and consumed a lot of my focus which wasn't practical with my university exams so I stopped for a month and hardly exercised and ate whatever - I didn't gain…

Scared to go shopping...
I know this may sound a little silly... But just wondering if there are any others in a similar situation! I haven't really enjoyed going shopping or trying things on for close to 1.5 years now because I felt like everything I tried on made me look fat, or things wouldn't fit that in my mind "should".. And as a result I…

105 Cal Chocolate Tarts with Pics (Gluten Free, Dairy Free)
Chocolate Tarts with Coconut Shells! (Gluten free, dairy free) DIsclaimer: This recipe is not necessarily healthy! So before people start telling me how bad they are, they are just meant to be a pretty lovely delight and can be used for treats or for mini desserts when entertaining! However it is relatively low in…

A big thank you :)
I just wanted to say a big thank you to MFP and to everyone on here :) Stepping on the scales this morning and I'm 0.8kg off my preliminary goal (thinking of altering it now seeing as I've been successful) of an 8kg loss. I know a lot of people on here have been successful with a much greater loss, and I very much admire…

Ah! I love scones, found this recipe and modified it slightly so it's only 56 Cal per mini-scone!!! Tabata
I've looked into starting these workouts as they're meant to be a huge calorie burn and really good for getting fitter. Has anyone tried these? Any thoughts? What exercises do you do? And how do I log these? As circuit training? (I don't have a HRM yet)

Nikefuel Band
Hey guys, I've been having a look around and they seem pretty cool, however I live in Australia and they haven't been released here so I'd have to buy one on the internet. Anyone have one already? Any comments on them and how useful they are? Is the program compatible with macbook airs? Any better alternatives? I'd much…

Tape vs Scales
I've been weighing myself most days for the past 30 days (since I joined) and measuring myself around every 2 weeks. My goals are to lose weight, lose size, and mainly get fitter/healthier. I've lost 5kg and I'm happy with that, and I think that I look noticeably fitter too - smaller hips, smaller waist, more toned abs and…

Committed
Hey guys! I'm curious, does anyone else here have a certain moment or time when they realized that they're in it and committed to their new diet/exercise/lifestyle change? I went away for the weekend with my boyfriend, and had decided that I wasn't going to worry about any of it as I've been doing great, and I'd just eat…

Advice needed! Don't want motivation to fade!!
Hey guys, This is my third week on MFP and I've been feeling pretty good so far. Exercising a lot more than usual, eating better on the whole (still having some "unclean" food but less frequently and smaller portions - always fit in with my calories) and feel healthier and less bloated. The first two weeks were great, I…

Losing a Dress/Pant Size
Hey everyone, I know that it depends on the person, and everyone is different depending on body composition and distribution, and it depends on your height etc. etc. But just trying to get people's general opinion - I heard that losing one dress size is ~10% (so at 70kg, to lose one size would be 7kg, at 60kg it would be…

Eating less but feeling full?
I've just finished my second week on MFP, and so far lost 6 pounds. I've been exercising more, both cardiovascular and light strength/calisthenics at home as well as eating within the net 1200. I am trying to eat healthier overall, but still indulge in unhealthy food every now and then - some days more than others. I am…

Is it all in my head?
I'm only on about Day 10 or 11 of this, but so far have lost 2.3kg. I've been eating a lot better, and exercising a lot more over this short time. I think that I look better and that it is a noticeable change - stomach appears flatter, legs look a little better, etc. But this morning when I checked my measurements, they…

Wanted: Veggie burger recipe!
Hey guys, I'm looking for a good veggie burger recipe! I'm absolutely craving one, but need a good low-cal low-fat (all in all healthy!) option. Preferably something including generic vegetables (potato, sweet potato, beans, peas, corn, carrot, etc.) rather than lentils/beans. Fussy I know - but just curious if anyone has…

Hello!
Hello :) I have just started a couple of days ago, trying to keep my motivation up (usually fades pretty quickly). I am 21 and have a lot of study going on which makes it hard to fit in exercise. But stepping on the scales and realizing how much I've put on over the past year or so is a big eye opener!! Need to prioritize…

Rate of losing..
I lost 0.9kg the first day, 0.7kg the second and now only 0.4kg the third. And yesterday I ate the least (apparently it only added up to 800Cal ish for the day) and drank a lot of water and did more exercise than the other ideas. I'm just worried if it slows to zero this early on then I'll lose motivation!! I've lost…
