Yoga apps (that do not require connection to internet) ?
I'm looking for recommendations for yoga apps that will allow me to access the content when not connected to the internet. I'd like to practice some yoga after my runs at the gym, but the wifi doesn't reach any of the appropriate rooms! When there is a class offered at the right time, I'll take it. If not...well...yeah I…

a reminder to myself...
I haven't been feeling very successful lately. I'll have a couple weeks of being totally on, then a few days of being off... and the scale and I have been fighting over the same few pounds for months. I'm going on a road trip in a couple of weeks, and part of that trip I'll be seeing family in Florida that I haven't seen…

Chobani - check your entries before logging...
Just a head's up...Chobani has reduced the size of their yogurt from 6oz to 5.3oz which means there's gonna be a lot of incorrect entries in the database. I still find both sizes in stores as they're making the switch, so you may wanna check which you have and if the entry you find matches.

Yoga on YouTube...suggestions?
I'm happy to see there are so many full length yoga classes on YouTube, but because there are so many it's hard to know which ones will be good and which a waste of time without actually watching them. I've been practicing for many years, but Id like a variety from beginner for easy days, to more advanced, energetic…

100 lbs down (so far!)
so, this is more of a "work in progress" as opposed to a full-out success story before/after, but seeing these pictures side by side, I decided it was time to show off the results of my hard work. The left is early September of 2012, I was already down about 30ish pounds, and the right is tonight... ok I admit have spanx…

what qualifies as "exercise"?
SPECIFICALLY: What duration and level of exertion qualifies as "exercise"? I'm not asking this in the context of "how little can I get away with?" lol, but in the context of considering what my "level of activity" is. When calculating TDEE there is the question of how often one exercises and I am curious if a 35 minute…

feeling too ill to eat - suggestions?
For various emotional reasons that I won't get into, I just can't bring myself to eat much these past few days. Every bite feels like a chore and once it's in my belly it feels like lead. I know eating a very low-cal diet (under 600 calories/day*) isn't good for me, and hopefully I will snap out of it soon. so, tell me oh…

NSV: Jeans
It's been at least 6 years since I bought jeans in a "regular" store. (and not a big girl store). Probably 5 years since I've worn anything that doesn't stretch a lot. I've been traveling for about 2 months, visiting national parks, camping and staying in motels. I've been disciplined, I've made great food choices, I've…

accountability
(some of this this came from another thread i replied to, but I thought it was worth sharing further) I believe that having support and encouragement from our friends, families, our peers is extremely helpful to the process of becoming healthier; I also read a lot of people talking about having other MFPers to be…

suggestions for healthy camping food please!
I am going to be spending parts of October and November camping in various US National and State Parks (omg can't wait!) which means I am going to have to deal with food differently. I obviously won't have access to a fridge full of fresh fruits and veggies. I haven't sworn off carbs, but I do tend to eat breads, grains…

I blame you all ;)
I woke up a little lazy today, and have a lot to do tonight, so I wasn't going to head to the park for a walk. (because those are really good excuses, right? no) Then I browsed the mfp forums, read a few success stories, read about some people's fitness routines, etc... and I'm gonna suck it up, put on the sneakers, and…

healthy eating on a budget - great link
I see lots of people post about how expensive it is to eat healthy, so when I came across this link, I thought of all of you! The article comes from the perspective of a paleo diet, but even those not on any specific plan (I'm not) will find this really helpful (i think!).…
