Personalized macros
Hi guys. I read the sticky about customizing my macros and wanted to confirm that I'm doing it right. I'm 6'5", 297 lbs and currently 31.5% BF. I calculated my macro targets to be Protein: 203.4g (equates to 35%, 210g) Fats: 110g (equates to 40%, 110g) Carbs: 154g (25% after proteins and fats accounted for) Did I do this…

Logging when eating at "whole in the wall" places
My co-workers and I go out to eat a lot. When we got to the big chain restaurants, it really isn't a problem because their nutrition is on MFP and verified by their websites. However, we frequent a whole in the wall place that doesn't have its nutrition listed online, and some of its entrees are rather obscure. An example…

IIFYM Question
Hello all. I've been looking at the IIFYM calculator (TDEE -20%) and want to use the goals that calculator has provided. I just have questions about the macros that it has suggested. Some information about me: Male 24 years old 6'5" 313 lbs. I would describe my activity level as sedentary, but I'd like some input on that…

Advice from bigger guys who lost weight.
I'm 6'5 and 320 lbs. With all the calorie tracking to calculate my deficit, I'm having a difficult time believing that I should eat 2500 calories and still lose 2 lbs a week. Can some guys around my height and start weight who have lost weight give me some insight? How much did you eat to lose weight? Was it around 2500?…

Stronglift 5x5 and Spondylosisthesis
I'm interested in trying the Stronglift 5x5 program, but I've been shying away from doing squats and deadlifts due to a condition I have in my back. An orthopedic surgeon diagnosed me with grade 1 spondylosisthesis. He encouraged me to continue working out, but to stay away from things that place an excessive amount of…

Fast heart rate & calories burned
So I'm pretty out of shape. Even just walking at 3.3 mph with a 1% incline my heart rate gets up to 150 BPM max. How am I supposed to keep my heart rate in my target heart rate zone if by just walking, it goes above it? Also, if I stay in my target heart rate zone, it doesn't feel like i'm doing anything. As for calories…

My diet profile.
So I know this has been asked before, but I don't want to hijack someone else's thread. Also, I'm not exactly sure what to do without using my exact numbers. So under my diet profile, it says my Net Calories Consumed/Day should be about 2,200 calories. Does this amount already factor in a deficit for me to lose two lbs a…

Cardio vs. Weight Loss
EDIT: I caught this too late, but I meant my topic to read "Cardio vs. Weight Training for Weight Loss" Hi guys. I haven't been on this web site in a little while, but I'm ready to start counting my calories again. I have a question, though, as I've been trying to lose weight and my mom, who has taken a nutrition class,…

How to get back on the wagon?
So I've fallen off the wagon again. From October-December 25th, I lost about 24 lbs, and then stopped. Now I'm back in school and eat at the dining courts because I have no other option. I've gained some weight back, but I can't seem to drive myself to go to the gym. How can I get myself back on the wagon? :/

Heart Rate monitor calories
Should I trust the amount of calories that my heart rate monitor says i've lost, or trust MFP's calories that I've lost? I ask because I do 20 minutes of cardio and lose about 500 calories, while MFP' says I only lose about 400. I also do 40 minutes of weight training afterwards, but I don't enter that in. I noticed, once,…

How to spice up boneless-skinless chicken breast and plain b
What spices do you all use to make your chicken and brown rice taste a little bit more interesting? I've been eating both plain. I'm just wondering if any of you have found a certain combination of spices that make it taste oh so much more flavorful. (no added calories if you can avoid it please :) ) Thanks

Question for those trying to lose in college.
My school has a bunch of cafeterias, but they're all buffet style. Right now, I'm doing an internship and I get to buy my own food and portion it out which is great, but when I go back to school I don't think they'll have the healthy foods that I choose to eat now. For those of you on here who are still in college, how are…

Sugar and Sodium
My sodium and sugar intake have been excessively high when I enter my foods, even though I still have carbs and some calories left over. If I eat the number of calories that MFP says I should a day, will i still lose weight, even though my sugar and sodium are too high? Here's the link to my food log. You can see it's…

My Food Log
Could you guys take a look at my log and give me some pointers? I'd appreciate it. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/BoilerMaker22?date=2009-10-12 The link is to my food log. I went over a little bit on the protein. Is that alright? Thanks.

Is this Right?
So I edited my planned workout routine to work out 5 days a week at 30 minutes a day, and mfp said I should eat about 2700 calories a day. Has anyone else eaten this many calories a day and lost eight? This just seems exceedingly high, even for someone like me, being 6'6" and 300 pounds. I haven't exercised much, but I am…

Measured my RMR and...
something doesn't seem right. I went in to my gym to have my RMR measured by a trainer with the body gem by healthetech. I found my RMR to be 1950 calories a day. They gave me a print out with everything I'd need to lose two lbs a week, which is my goal, and I came to enter it here. I entered it here and myfitnesspal…

Hellooo...la la la!
Hello all. I signed up for this website a few weeks ago but I'm just now starting to steadily use it. I heard about it from a few of my co-workers who have lost weight, so I thought I'd give it a try.
