Considering VSG and looking for info and support
Hi all, my name is MJ. I have been overweight my entire life. My Mom was an emotional eater and turned to food when she was upset, depressed, happy, sad, etc. She also rewarded my sister and me with food - especially sweet treats. So, I quickly developed the same emotional relationship with food. I would binge on sweets…

I just joined. Is this group still active?
I am back on MFP for what I hope to be the final time. I need to lose more than 200#s and was excited to find this group. However, it looks like no one has posted since June. Just wondering if you all are still out there supporting one another or if I should keep searching for an active group for larger folks. Thanks!

Anyone worried about an eating rut?
I have only been back on-track with MFP for about 40 days, but previously used the site for more than 200 days in a row. I am so happy to be working toward my goal of getting healthy again. However, I noticed when filling out my food tracker for breakfast this morning that I seem to keep going to the "recent" tab since I…

HRM Question RE: Tracking with MFP
Okay, I am apparently missing something here. I see lots of my friends log their exercise and the line reads something like this: "[name] burned 258 calories doing 35 minutes of "Walking HRM 121" cycling 3.5 mph HRM 140". When I look through the exercise tracker, I cannot find a place to add in what your HRM readings are.…

Tracking food from a Tea
Hi all. I went to a tea this afternoon with my friends. Had a wonderful time! However, I have no earthly idea how to track the food I ate. We had mini this and mini that - muffin, quiche, etc. I came away completely satisfied. I am thinking of just assigning a calorie estimate and doing "quick tools" for maybe 1000…

Chaffing?
I apologize if this is TMI, but I am desperate for some help here. Been trying to exercise consecutive days - cardio using the Wii Walk It Out game. At my current weight, 364, keeping the beat with the music has me nearly jogging. I did this routine for 25 minutes Monday & Tuesday. However, ever since, my inner/back upper…

Smoothie Recipes???
I love the idea of smoothies - healthy ones of course. But when I try to make them, they are always so bland and unflavorful unlike the tasty (and "bad") ones I have bought in the past. Anyone have a good-tasting, healthy, preferably simple recipe they would recommend? Thanks!

ISO 7X
Hi all. Just stumbled upon this device in searching online for compact fitness equipment that does not tax the joints. I have some resistance bands from Altus (they look more like bungie cords than rubber) and tried to do some of the leg exercises with them including squats but my knees just would not accomodate it.…

Chinese Food
So my family has insisted on going to dinner at the local chinese restaurant for dinner tonight. I have a copy of the menu and they do not list any "diet" foods as some I have seen do. They serve steamed white rice but no brown. Any suggestions on what to order? I know to avoid the fried dishes, sweet and sours and the…

Newbie Needs Advice on Calories to Consume
Hi all. I have only been on MFP for a few days, but have been counting my calories and logging my food for about 4 weeks now. During the first 3 weeks, I lost 11#. However, when I weighed in yesterday morning (my usual day), I was only down 1# for week 4. I had initially started out eating aounrd 1500 calories. But given…

When I saw all the wonderful tracking tools available, I decided to join and track my food. I have been tracking with Calorie Count since 11/17 - have lost 11#s…
