Tracking food from a Tea

Hi all. I went to a tea this afternoon with my friends. Had a wonderful time! However, I have no earthly idea how to track the food I ate. We had mini this and mini that - muffin, quiche, etc. I came away completely satisfied. I am thinking of just assigning a calorie estimate and doing "quick tools" for maybe 1000 calories. Does that make sense to you all? Any other suggestions for tracking? Thanks!

  • It's always hard at things like that. There's probably some items in the database. Find something close. I don't like to use quick add because you don't get the accurate counts for fat, sodium etc

if you type in "misc" it will give you just amounts, if you think it was about 1000 calories, just put in misc 100 calories and add 10 servings. That's what I do when I go to Costco and try all the samples LOL

Personally (like I plan on doing after the super bowl party tomorrow), I would search the database for the closet food possible and make the best educated guess to pick the closet/correct items and their volumes and record them that way. For a one time thing (like super bowl or birthday party) I'm not really going to care when I blow the calories all to heck. But if I was sampling 1000kcal at the grocery store every week, I'd have to know because I'd need to come up with another plan or have the world's smallest meals that day! Just my two cents.

There are lots of mini quiches, muffins, etc in the database already. If you do a few searches you'll probably find some pretty close stuff.

I just meant I use "misc" calories for a sample here and there I did NOT mean that I eat 1000 calories every time I go to Costco --that's hilarious! :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I located items in the database that are pretty close sounding and then estimated the quantity I consumed. It came out to 808 calories, so I think it is pretty accurate. Glad you all encouraged me to take the time to log each item individually. :flowerforyou:
