Fat intake
Hi all, I'm having a bit of an argument with people at work about fat levels, I'm not going to say which side I'm on so the answers are impartial. How does fat intake affect weight loss and muscle gain? If you do a low fat diet does this affect fat loss and does it slow down muscle gain? Answers on a postcard..

Has anyone else ever had the title? I seem to get flu like symptoms sometimes after I exercise, Sore throat, aching all over and a runny nose. It's a bit wierd but googling it there seems to be a lot of people saying the same thing. Does anyone know any potential solutions because it feels like I'm taking 1 step forward…

Number of meals a day (protein intake)
Hey Guys, I find so much conflicting info on the number of meals a day and the amount of protein you can intake at any one time. From what I've read you can only process 30g of pure protein at any one time but from my own knowledge and other things I've seen that's just pure protein, if you eat it in a meal with a balance…

"healthy" Alchoholic drinks
Hey guys, I'm finding recently that I'm being dragged out a LOT with my new set of friends. Although it's great for the social side I always find myself drinking with them, yeah I know it's a choice but it's difficult sometimes not to (birthday drinks, celebrations etc etc) Plus I go to music festivals and end up drinking…

Where should I add in my Tri exercises?
Hey guys I've been hitting the gym again recently after a break with a niggling lower back injury and I've modified my old routine to take out some of the things that seemed to aggrevate it. I was doing Stronglifts before but now I'm doing: Day 1: Squats Bench Flys (cable) Close grip bench Day 2: Deadlifts Military Press…

Cardio and Weights - Muscle gain.
I've read a lot of conflicting information about Cardio and Muscle gains. Some sources seem to tell us that you can't do much cardio without burning away muscle, even when your protein intake is more than sufficient, some say it's detrimental to your training as it affects the intensity of a weights session. Others seem to…

Training regime
Hey guys, I was doing stronglifts but I managed to put my back out (not through form more probably to do with other factors and I just made it worse) I got some really good results though so I'm more looking for freeweight workouts than anything else. Does anyone have a 3 day a week workout they wouldn't mind sharing? I'm…

Lower back help!
Hey Guys and girls, Since I got hit by a car in March on my bike I've had lower back pains. I've had it checked out and there's nothing major but it niggles like nothing else. I started lifting weights in June and it seemed to have gone away until later on in August it twinged when I bent down to pick something up out of…

Sugar and how it affects weightloss/muscle building
Hey Guys, I don't really know a lot about sugar, I always get told not to worry about it but I do seem to have a very, very high intake of it from what I can see. According to a few sources men shouldn't be getting more than 30-40g of sugar a day, yet I can easily have that in one meal!? My question is how much does it…

Bulking friends
Hey guys, I've got loads of friends that are trying to lose weight but my goals have changed, I'm currently eating 3000+ calories as cleanly as I can. Could do with some friends to steal recipe ideas off and have some that encourage eating so much instead of being horrified!

Saturday morning blues..
Why do I always feel so sluggish on a Saturday morning? I didn't go out last night for the first time in about 3 months and instead watched a film and got to bed about 12. Woke up about 8 after solid sleep but felt tired still so slept another 2. Still feel just as tired and sluggish ideas? Is it because I've normally had…

Squats and Hamstrings
Hey Guys, I've just started doing stronglifts 5x5's but I'm struggling when it comes to Squats. According to 3 guys at the gym (all seperate) my form is pretty perfect (I can do a wider stance or one that's around my shoulder length) my problem is that my hamstrings are ridiculously tight/sore the next day. That was only…

Hayfever - Uk people
Hey guys, Last couple of years at this exact time of year I've suffered from hayfever but I've never really found anything that stops it well without making me really drowsy when I'm in work. Any suggestions that have worked for you? Anyone got any idea what type of things are triggering it in June every year?

Eyes in a dark room using a computer
Hey Guys, My boss pretty much insists on living like a vampire at work and because I sit directly infront of him it means I'm constantly in darkness at work and I use a computer 8 hours a day in that environment. My question is, are my eyes getting damaged doing this? I know it makes you strain a bit but does it actually…

Sugar and weightlifting
Hey Guys, I'm starting the stronglifts program this week and would like some general advice on sugar intake from people that properly build themselves up. I know I require a caloric surplus to help me put on some muscle and that isn't an issue but I am however having an issue getting enough calories in compared to my…

Need healthy alternatives please!
Hey Guys.. I'm generally pretty healthy, I used to eat really cleanly but I've found myself slipping a bit recently, I've been worrying less about calories and macro's and more on the goals I've set myself. This has meant I've slipped into a couple of processed foods that I wouldn't normally eat, purely out of convenience…

Bulking up then cutting
The stronglifts program is telling me to eat a minimum of 3000 calories a day, obviously taken in cleanly which I eat mostly anyway. This is like doing the opposite of what I've done the last couple of years, I've lost 130lb but I did it really low calorie and burned off a lot of my muscle I already had under the fat. As…
