Runner: Pain in toe
I run anywhere from 8-15 km a day, everday. I have noticed that my second toe beside my big toe, which is the toe that sticks out the farthest, has a callus on it. Recently (within the past week), the tip of the toe (where the callus is) has really started hurting. At first, I thought my nail was too long so I clipped it.…

Trying to get back on the "wagon"!?
I use to be a fairly active member here, but over the past year or so I have really fallen off the wagon. I would really love to get back on and lose about 20 pounds. Hopefully by my June graduation. Anyways, I have been trying to get back on over the past couple of weeks but with no avail! I may do it one day, and seeing…

Gain and weight and inches but no change in size?
I haven't been doing well... and I've gained wait and a couple of inches. However, I haven't changed pant/shirt sizes. To be clear, I started at a very low size so any weight gaint should have made me go up a size. I also tended to buy jeanes / pants that were very tight when you first put them on (because as you wear them…

Question about pant sizes
This is a dumb question. But I'm wondering, if you gain weight slowly (as most peopled do), can pants "expand" slowly with you so you don't actually need to buy new pants (up to a certain point of course)? I know stretchy pants can do this, but I am also refering to non-stretchy jeanes / shorts.

Do you gain weight evenly all over?
Unfortunately I have gained a few pounds recently. However, my thighs and waist are the same inches, however, the area arund my bello button has increased by about an inch (but not sure if this is due to bloat right now). So I'm wondering if some areas gain all the weight while the others remain the same.

All in my head?
Over the past several months I have been binging a lot and have "given up" on my diet... even though I want to stop binging. The last time I've weighed myself was about 6 weeks ago... haven't weighed myself since out of fear it will just make me depressed. Anyways, when I did last weigh myselfnI weighed about 7 pounds more…

Weight distracting me from my vacation
I am currently on holiday at Universal Studios and Disney World. I REALLY want to enjoy it but can't stop thinking about my weight! Eating bad is not an issue... I make healthy choices (ie had a cob salad for dinner) and get a ton of walking. Yet this weight is always on my mind and distracting me from actually enjoying…

What will toning my arms do (+ thighs question)?
I am very unhappy with my arms at the moment. I find them quite "chubby" and it does not look like they have any muscle definition to them. They measure about 9.5 inches around (biceps area). Will doing arm exercises make me lose inches from my arms? Or is that all fat loss? I know you can't spot reduce with fat :( but I'm…

Full fast vs low fat
I KNOW that calories in / calories out what is needed for weight loss, but I'm curious... do you prefer low fat or full fat products when losing weight? There was a study done a while ago that showed those who preferred low fat versions (I think it was of yogurt? Or maybe in general.. an't remember) had a higher…

I'm at my highest weight in 2 years, help! (Also I think I finally know why I binge!)
I am 5'7 and I went from 145 to 115 in the span of about 8 months between 2013 and 2014. I hovered between 115 and 120 since then. However, I went on vacation in early June. I did okay on vacation with eating. However, it's when I got back where the problem started. I got back over 3 weeks ago and since then, I've been…

If "abs start in the kitchen" then...
I've always heard the phrase "abs start in the kitchen". So if I eat a calorie deficit and do a lot of cardio (so I lose weight)... can I still get muscle definition without lifting weights / doing strength training? (I'm female if that matters)

Ladies... EXTREME monthly cravings!?
During that "time" of the month I get EXTREME cravings for chocolate / sweet things. Today, I just ate so much sugary cereal and 3 chocolate granola bars. I usually love sweets... but it is this one week when I literally cannot resist. Anyone else? How do you stop just going all out? (by the way, I live with my family so…

On vacation... should I just enjoy myself?
I was planning on doing "good" on vacation but yesterday I just couldn't resist myself at the desert table and today I'm not doing any better. So I'm just thinking... should I just "screw it" and enjoy myself? I do feel really bloated right now. If I did gain a bit of weight over the course of the vacation (5 days) would…

Is this a reasonable weight loss goal or should I now just maintain?
I am 5'6.5 (66.5 inches) and currently about 120 pounds (depends on how much I've eaten / bloated I am... but usually 120). However, my goal is to be around 115 pounds. I was that weight last summer, but then I gained a few pounds over the past year. My measurements haven't really changed and I still wear the same size…

Can sodium really make me bloat this much?!
Last night I unfortunately binged. It wasn't my biggest binge, but it did include A LOT of salty snacks. Mainly, popcorn, pretzels, graham crackers, cheezits (sp?) and goldfish (which I could tell were very salty). Due to me not being hungry and having a very busy day, I did not eat again until tonight. Right before dinner…

Low self confidence and going on vacation
I am going on a pretty incredible "once-in-a-lifetime" vacation in 2 and a half weeks. I go on vacations a lot, but the chances of one like this happening again in my life is very slim. So, I really want to enjoy it as much as possible and get the most out of it. Unfortunately, I have recently begun bingeing during my diet…

How do I get a "tight" stomach?
I am very confused about this. I know in order to lose body fat, I need to lose weight in which I'm already at the low end of the spectrum (5'6.5 and 119 lbs). But I also know you can't "spot" reduce. So how do I lose fat from my stomach and get a "tight" looking stomach?

Is anybody now "use" to their new body and is motivated to lose more weight?
I have lost 25 pounds (over 2 years) and am becoming "use" to this new body. I use to be on the higher end of the healthy BMI range and now I am on the lower end. I use to think I looked very good and athletic. Now I think I could lose quite a bit more weight. Anybody else feel this way?

Since you lost weight, do people think you are younger than you are?
I am 22 and a couple of years ago I lost 25-30 pounds (went from a 145 to 115-120). I am almost done University, however, people who do not know me that well always ask me "Oh what grade are you in?" or, if they know I am in university, they assume I am a first year and are shocked when I tell them I am in 4th year. It's…

Could my small weight gain be due to running?
Over the past several months I have gained 4 pounds. During the school year I run about 3 days a week (7km) and briskly walk to a from school which is about 7km as well. On holidays, I run 7k everyday. During the summer months I also ran that same distance. I have lost about half an inch on my thighs and none on my waist.…

I can't stay motivated!!
When I look in the mirror, I lose all motivation and give into all of my cravings. This is ruining my diet. I always think about how much more I need to go and doubt that I'll ever get there. What keeps you motivated when you hit these walls?

Do you make sure you get your 10 steps everyday?
I have went the past 9 days with well over 10k each day. However, today just isn't going too well. It is 7pm and I am only at 2000 (yes a lazy day). Do you guys ever go once or twice a week with so little steps and make sure to stick with your 10k on the other days?

Impossible to get back on track! Advice needed!
I've been at this for a couple of years now. I've been up and down before but have managed to get back on track. But this time is different. I went away on vacation in early August and I did very well while on vacation. I made healthy and very low calorie choices. However, when I got back, everything went downhill. Since…

Do you weigh everything, even packaged foods?
Do you weigh foods that come in a wrapper or single container? For example, if a package of oatmeal says "150 cals" on it for every "52 grams" do you trust the package or still weigh the oatmeal? I mean that's just an example, but what do you do for any food that comes in a simple package with the cals written on it?

My body seems to hate going below a certain weight
My goal weight is 115. However, I have noticed that when I go below 120, I will binge several times per week until I am back up at 120. Once I am there, my ability to resist snacking and my ability to stick to my daily calories significantly increases. I have been at my goal several times over the past year, however, each…

Opinion on diet drinks
I love diet pops and usually have one every evening. I know diet drinks do not slow weight loss. However, what are your opinions on the long-term effects that they may have on your body? I keep hearing these horror stories about aspartame causing cancer and I am wondering if you think it is a big myth or if there is some…

FitBit and exercise calories
Firstly, are the calories burned during exercise, as recorded by the FitBit device, accurate? Secondly, when it syncs to MFP, it doesn't seem to sync all of your exercise calories. For instance, I just went for a 7.5k run. According to the Fitbit, I burned a total of 560 calories during that run. However, when it syncs to…

If you can't spot reduce then am I unable to trim my legs?
I would still like to lose about an inch (max) off of my thighs. I know you can't spot reduce, but I'm pretty small everywhere else. My waist is 24.5-25 inches... and at 5'6.5 that's pretty small. And I can't really lose much more weight. So, due to my genetics, would it not be possible to safetly make my legs any smaller?…

Who is the nutritional information on the back of packages for?
Men and women do not always require the same amount of vitamines / macronutrients. For instance, women require 18mg of iron a day whereas men only need 8. On the back of packages / boxes it will say, for instance, one package has 25% of your daily iron requirement. But is that 25% for men or for women? Because they would…
