FitBit and exercise calories

Firstly, are the calories burned during exercise, as recorded by the FitBit device, accurate?
Secondly, when it syncs to MFP, it doesn't seem to sync all of your exercise calories. For instance, I just went for a 7.5k run. According to the Fitbit, I burned a total of 560 calories during that run. However, when it syncs to MFP, it says I only burned 178 cals doing exercise today. What's up with this?

Click on the adjustment in your diary to see the math MFP used to calculate it. You've burned 178 calories more than your MFP activity level.
Your Fitbit burn is TDEE (total daily energy expenditure), the calories necessary to maintain your current weight.

Set your goal to .5 lb. for every 25 lbs. you're overweight: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided
Enable negative calorie adjustments: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings
Ignore your Fitbit calorie goal and follow MFP's, eating back your adjustments.
