All in my head?

Over the past several months I have been binging a lot and have "given up" on my diet... even though I want to stop binging. The last time I've weighed myself was about 6 weeks ago... haven't weighed myself since out of fear it will just make me depressed. Anyways, when I did last weigh myselfnI weighed about 7 pounds more than I did a year ago. I am positive Ive gained weight over the past month or so. I believe that I physically look bigger. However, when I take my measurements I am more or less the same and all of my clothes (xs - s in tops and 0-2 in pants) all still fit me. So, is me thinking I appear larger just "in my head"? Thanks!

Just weigh yourself. It is just information like measuring yourself or fitting clothes. You can do that without spiralling into depression. Why are you afraid?
If you are wearing sizes xs-s or 0-2 then you are not very big. If you haven't gone up a size then you probably gained no more than a couple of pounds that you could lose in just a couple of weeks simply tracking your calorie intake.2 -
I have this crazy 'dread' of the scale - especially when I know in my head I've gained weight. The only way to get around the fear is to remember - it is just a number and it does not define your worth. Hop on, record your weight and move on. I weighed myself last week for the first time in around 6 months and I had gained around 7 pounds. I expected the gain because my clothes had become tighter but I knew I had to simply shrug it off and either 1) watch what I eat until Im at a comfortable weight again or 2) Forget it.
For me, I wanted to be a weight I am happy with so I am in the process of losing the 7 gained pounds. It's no big dealDo not fear the scale. If you've gained weight, really - who cares? In the grand scheme of things, what does it matter? You can lose the unwanted pounds. But it'll make no difference to your self worth or what people think of you.
