Pain in hip flexor
I have been having some pain in my hip flexors and so have stopped squatting for a week to give me some time to recover. However, I don't feel like there has been much improvement. The pain is relatively minor but uncomfortable while I squat (even without weight) and it's definitely in the tissue. Has anyone ever…

Proper bench press technique
I'm going to be attempting the bench press first time tomorrow with a spotter. I looked online for a good form guide and found http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=33mjoyc5JbE&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D33mjoyc5JbE Does the instruction here look good? Anything he's saying you wouldn't recommend, anything you'd add?

NRLFW Front squat to push press
I don't know if you are all familiar with this program, but in stage 2 there is a front squat to push press. I've gotten some feedback on the regular msg boards that these are difficult and that I shouldn't attempt them on my own ( without a trainer). I respect the advice given on here so I'd love your perspective on this.…

Front squat to push press
Nervous about attempting this one at the gym. I'm assuming I'm doing this outside the squat rack cage as it might be a bit of a tight fit inside? Any tips on form? I've watched a few youtube vids but it would be great to get some more feedback. Cheers.

Front squat to push press
quick q. re: stage 2 front squat to push press. Should I be doing this inside the squat rack cage or outside. I'm pretty tall so am thinking inside would be a bit tight. Cheers!

How do you distract yourself when you're still hungry?
There have been a few days this week where I felt absolutely starving and had no cals left! I one day I ended up taking a long bath and straightening my hair at 8pm (for no reason at all). And of course, I creep the success threads for sometimes more than an hour. What kind of crazy have you done to get food off the brain?

This is my first progress picture. Not a whole lot of difference, but overall I definitely feel slimmer and more dense (which is a good thing since I've been lifting). This has been 40 days of running 3days/wk and NROL4W 3days/week. Enjoy!

Suggestions for travel workouts (no gym access)
I'll be visiting my folks pretty soon for 2 weeks and unfortunately they live in the middle of nowhere (i.e. no gym). I've been doing NROL4W and am use to using free weights for my workouts. Any suggestions on alternatives. Essentially I'll have to rely on bodyweight exercises (or using my toddler as a free weight). Also,…

Quick question: Measurements
I have no idea how to take my measurements. Specifically: What measurements to take and where exactly to take them. For example, where should I take my waist measurement, around the belly button or at the smallest part of my waist? Thanks!!!

Too much? NROL+C25K+Insanity
I've been at it for nearly 3 weeks. I do NROL4W 3 days/wk and C25K on my rest days. My body has finally adapted and I don't experience any DOMS at this point. I lift to my limit but at the end of my workouts I still have a lot of energy and my muscles are fatigued but not dead. Is it too much to add a program like Insanity…

Weird question for moms who lift
Ok, so this is going to be a sensitive question and I apologize for my awkwardness! After breastfeeding and losing some baby weight I have found my chest to be ...how can I say... Lacking in fullness. For those mamas who lift weights, have you found an improvement in this area. Is cosmetic surgery my only option to correct…

How to learn to "lift heavy"
I just bought the book New Rules of Lifting for Women. I'm not really sure how to begin. Should I start at home, should I go to my local Gym. Any suggestions? Also, if you're a woman who's been lifting for a bit, I'd love to read your story about how you got started, your experiences and any "lessons learned". Thanks!

New(ish) mom and ready to get motivated
I'm former military so I've been very fit in the past. I gained a ton of weight during my pregnancy and after I had my son (2.5 years ago) I only lost about 10lbs of baby weight. So here I am. I have this feeling my body and muscles remember what it is like to be fit and are secretly rooting for me. Chocolate ice cream and…
