"Carbing Up" prior to a big run????? Please advise....
I am training for my first half marathon and was wondering when should I eat carbs pre race? Night before? What is an example of a meal that will do me good for the race? As the weekly "long" training runs get longer, I'm thinking of doing the same thing the night before my long runs. But..... I don't really know anything…

50 lbs down - yayyyyy!!! Two great stories!
1. I switched to fully underwritten life insurance, and now qualify for the "preferred" category based on my health and weight. Previously, I just got the simple insurance policy where they didn't have to calculate my weight into it. 2. I started selling all my old clothes that are waaaaay too big, and *almost* have enough…

Pasta portions - food scale question
Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to my food scale - but am loving it. My question is on my box of spaghetti the portion is listed as 2 oz. But what the heck does 2 oz look like right? So I busted out my food scale, but is the 2 oz dry, or after it is cooked?

Protein - how much is too much?
I am currently following an eating plan where I am eating 80 - 90 grams of protein a day. It is going very well, however I have a question. There have been some days where I realize I have eaten 100-120 grams of protein once I add it up. Is there a adverse effect if I am eating over my goal protein? I am 27, 5'6'', and…

Just bought a food scale.... why didn't I do this sooner?
The best $30 I've spent in a long time. I have lost 30 pounds over the last 3 months, seriously adjusting my eating habits, and incorporating exercise back into the picture. But, the thing that I noticed is that estimating the weight of a piece of chicken, steak, etc was really hard for me so I never *really* knew how much…
