Lifting at a deficit...
I am about to start a real lifting program with a trainer at my gym. Over the past year, I've dropped 72lbs byeating at a 2lb / week deficit and doing tons of cardio. I've been steadily losing weight and moving toward my ultimate goal weight (185lbs) I'm, about 10lbs off it. I really want to start focusing on body fat % as…

Changing my fitness goals/plan
I've dropped 70lbs over the past year doing a lot of cardio and with a 2lbs/week loss calorie deficit. I'm happy that I got the weight off and I feel 1000 times better. I've got like 10lbs to my goal weight. But I really want to go the extra mile, and work on developing myself. I realize now that I should have incorporated…

Golds gym xr45
I'm starting to look at strength training and varying my routines. Currently I'm doing like 98% cardio. I have some light weights I use but I've never "lifted" or worried about strength. I'm looking at the gold gym xr 45 to add to my workout room. http://www.getgoldsgym.com/fitness/en/GetGoldsGym/Strength/golds-gym-xr-45…

After cardio protein shakes? What's your fav?
At first... I really thought it was just "hype" and a way to sell "powders". But more and more I am reading about the value of protein after a workout. I thought it was really just a lifting thing, but there is a lot of stuff out there about it helping nourish after a good cardio. So, I think I will investigate this. Any…

Does mfp take into account my loss?
As I am losing weight is mfp adjusting my calorie goal down to prevent plateau? This article suggests I should drop my cals? http://www.livestrong.com/article/389158-why-have-i-stopped-losing-weight/ I know it's early (10 days or so) but, pretty sure I am hitting that first "wall". Been a week with minimal loss... No major…

Am I tricking my HRM?
I wanted to shake things up a bit with my workouts, and decided to play some basketball today. Not a official game, rather just solo play. If I shot, and missed, I would run to the opposite basket and take a shot. If I made it, I'd take more shots at that hoop till I missed. (I am terrible at this sport lol) I only did…

vacation and my diet plan fail
Vacation and diet plans...Are like oil and water. Simply put they dont mesh. I knew it was gonna be bad... just wasnt prepared for the numbers I suppose. Ultimatly, im just guestimating. Far too many resturants dont have nutritional info available so im kinda just guessing. I think the real totals are 250 higher/day. At…

Am I doing this right?
So.... This weeks weigh in was the first where I missed my goal of 2lbs /week. I know it's not linear and what not, but.... It feels weird that I didn't hit that. My diary is shared, anyone have any thoughts as to if I'm doing this right? Do I really need to get into the macros? Starvation mode isn't possibility is it?…

Got my polar HRM today! Woot!
My polar ft7 arrived today, and I was stoked to take it for a test run. I spent 53 mins on the treadmill, by the machines calculations I burned roughly 430 calories. My HRM said 503 :-) That's a pretty big difference! If those are true results, I've been short changing myself at meal time for the past few weeks. Gonna have…

Fitbit or HRM?
I'm new to the community and a geek. I actually started getting interested in tracking intake and calorie burn after I found mfp and read an article on the fitbit flex. Today marks 10 days straight logging. I think i understand the differences between a hrm and step counter....the fitbit counting steps and using formula to…
