Little by little
Not sure where I heard this song, probably in Sunday School when I was little, but occasionally when I am frustrated about my "slow" progress, this song pops into my head and it helps... "Little by little, inch by inch by the yard it's hard, but the inch what a cinch! Never stare up stairs, just step up the steps! Little…

stretch marks
When I think about my weight loss journey (even though I'm at the beginning), I feel very confident that I will get down to a size that makes me comfortable. However, I have some pretty significant stretch marks (some from puberty, some from the freshman 15, and then the professional school freshman 15....) and I'm…

Looking for support!
Like everyone here, I'm looking for support! Long time yoyo dieter that has been back on for the last 3 weeks and lost 8 lbs from my all time high of 220 (I'm 5' 4"). I'm finally ready to make the lifestyle change - I'm in it for the long haul. Looking for friends to help encourage me who I can encourage back!

How have your pets helped you?
I'm a veterinary student, so animals are always on my mind :P But I want to know, how have your pets helped you in your weight loss? Have they lost anything, too? In the clinic we see obese pets all the time, and it's just as bad for them as it is for us! But It's also great because sometimes you see a client and pet get…

Clean eating consequences???
So I started putting serious effort into losing weight (again!) and have developed a sort of clean eating approach. I now eat a LOT of fuits and veggies, lean meat, a few carbs, and mostly cook everything myself. I don't add extra salt ever. For the most part I really like this way of eating - I consider it sustainable,…

medical weight loss clinic
Hey - is anyone following the medical weight loss clinic? I'm following a very similar diet (basically without all the supplements) and I was just wondering if anyone has had success on it? It seems to be pretty high protein and low carb. So far I'm 4 days in and 6 lbs down! I know that's a lot for 4 days, but I'm just…

My first NSV
So I have been working out for months, but have only recently put serious effort into starting to shed pounds, not just build muscle (I was going to the gym every day, but didn't change my eating at all). I am only six pounds down, but today I had my first NSV! I thought for school this fall I would have to buy new scrubs…

Does anyone weight themselves everyday?
Anybody? I just started and have lost weight consistently every day (whether it is a water-pound, or 0.2lb of fat) and thus far it is very encouraging to weight myself every day. I know at some point it'll slow down and I'm in the "honeymoon phase" - but is there any harm in this? Does anyone else do it?

The best running partner
She makes me go out and run with her, even if I don't feel like it. Somedays when I don't want to do it for me, I do it for her. Dogs need exercise, too!

Maybe this is TMI...
But I have majorly started increasing my water consumption - about 10-12 glasses of water a day (at least) and I feel like I have to pee all the time! Does your body adjust to lots of water intake, or do you just always have to excuse yourself because you've had so much water?

Favorite workout gadget?
Mine is my bluetooth earbuds. I got a pair in December to use with my ipod. They are FANTASTIC. I misplaced them the other day and had to use a normal pair of earphones - I thought I was gonna strangle myself in the cable, lol! So what is that one workout gadget that you just can't exercise without?

Which weeks are the hardest?
Hey guys! I'm a new MFP user and I have a question for you all, especially those that have lost probably 20 or 30+ lbs. Which weeks were the hardest for you? I just finished 10 days of consistent logging/exercising and thus far I'm feeling really good. I've lost two lbs and am excited to see myself getting thinner and…

the calorie game
Hi guys! I'm pretty new to the website, although I'm an old pro at calorie counting. I have a question, though, and want to pick your brains, especially those who have been successful in dropping large amounts of weight. When you set your calorie goal (for me it's 1400/day) do you stick to it regardless of exercise, or do…

A little bit about myself
Hi! My name is Staci, I'm 22, and I have been trying to lose weight since.... well I don't know how long. Probably since 8th grade, with no real luck. I'd always lost 4 or 5 lbs, then gain it right back. Or I wouldn't lose anything (or gain!) and I'd give up completely. I weigh just under 190 lbs, and I have gained 20 of…
