Bartending... LOL
I bartend once a week.... I wouldn't say that it gets my heart rate really pumping for the most part, but there is a lot of walking back and forth, bending , some times I shake things. :) Just wondering if it's worth calculating exercise calories. I'm normally on my feet for about 5 hours.

Lifting question
At the end of last year I decided I wanted to spend some time lifting weights (mostly because of this board). At first my trainer started me out 1-2 days per week and I would do some cardio a couple of other days per week. I am now lifting 3 days per week with my trainer, but our sessions are only about 30-40 minutes long.…

Sleep vs exercise
I have recently started working in the evening to add to my already full time job. I used to workout on the evenings that I work and I have now cut down to exercising 2-3 times per week. What is healthier getting in 30 minutes of exercise before bed or getting about an hour and a half less sleep? I am always hyped when I'm…

Need easy prep healthy dinner items....
I've recently started bartending in the evenings and I work a full time job during the days. The bar does not serve food so if I eat during my shift I must order out or bring from home. Does anyone have any suggestions for a higher protein snack that is easy to prep and pack?

Lifting Weights is AWESOME...
I've been working out with a personal trainer for the last 3 months. For the first two, we worked on my endurance. I have gone from someone that could barely get off the couch without straining to someone that pops right up. My trainer mentioned about 6 weeks in that with my body type barbell and lifting heavy would work…

Weighted Sit Up
I've been working with a trainer for about 3 months. It's his job to kick my *kitten* every time. Since I really feel wrung out after each visit, it's hard to gauge my progress. When I first started he would test me and my strengths.... he had me try doing a sit up with a weighted ball. I couldn't do it. This week he said…

Calorie configuration...
Is it because I have so much more weight to lose that MFP configures how may calories I burn at a much larger amount. I bought a heart rate monitor and it kept track of my average heart beat and my max heart beat. I inputted that into a calculator and it only gave me about 1/2 what MFP normally gives me.

Why aren't you eating dinner???
I've noticed several of my compatriots skip dinner.... I'm not sure how people do this or why? Especially when they have calories to kill.... I'm just wondering not being hateful or anything.

How do I eat all of this protein...?
I have made the change. I'm supposed to eat 2400 calories per day. How in the heck do I make 40% of them healthy protein?

Validation
Sometimes we have to take it where we can get it.... Let me tell you 3 months ago I was a mess. I was depressed. Feeling very down about myself. Unable to look in the mirror. I kept thinking that a quick fix was in the cards for me. My doctor gave me a wake up call. She said IT WON'T BE FAST AND IT HAS TO BE FOREVER! She…

Working the program... NA, SA and AA
Do you ever feel like your working an addiction program? I feel like that's what I'm doing. EVERYDAY I have this mantra..."it works if you keep on working it" I have stagnated the last couple of weeks. I worry myself daily about the calories and carbs I am putting into my body. I worry that if I eat the exercise calories…

I GAVE Up PASTA... should I give up dairy too
I gave up pasta a couple of weeks ago. I have been substituting cauliflower and zucchini. I can honestly say I really don't miss it. It's just filler after all. I am now considering the whole dairy option. I don't include a lot of dairy in my diet anyhow.... but I do like cheese. Is this another step I should take and are…

Feeding of the emotion...
STRESSS... how can loving people be so difficult sometimes?I love my family, I think I love them too much. Their drama and inability to get their stuff together is slowly killing me. Today I took a baby step, instead of stopping at Taco Bell on the way home, I went to the gym to relieve my frustration.I told myself. STOP…

I'm a big girl and I'm hungry...
This week is the week in my continuous journey to become healthier that almost inevitably happens. The week where I look at the scale and the depression sets in... It doesn't matter that I feel great. It doesn't matter that I'm moving better. All that matters is that the freaking number hasn't changed. Logically I know…

Calories VS Carbs a new journey
I fell off the wagon... I really did. I stopped posting my foods. My exercise is down to .... I bet you can guess. I had this talk with my NEW doctor. I told her how frustrated I am. My entire thought processes these days revolve around food and food guilt. I am tired of measuring, weighing, considering, thinking,…

French Fries Suck!!!
Let me tell you it completely surprises me to find that I feel this way about a deliciously, greasy, fave food item of mine. I find myself actually thinking now...."that french frie can be the entire down fall of your life" It has become that serious. MFP is changing my life. Sometimes it feels entirely too slow but yet…

I am sorry for being so angry that you only have 15 punds to
I feel like a terrible person. As I read some of the blogs and messages on the boards, I feel myself getting angry and jealous that some of the other people on this site are in low double digit weight loss mode. I think how dare you agonize over the 3 pounds you have left to lose, its not fair... Then I feel guilty for…
