Fitbit vs MFP calorie discrepancy
Can someone please explain this to me?? I have a Fitbit one. My MFP calories are set to not very active (apparently sedentary isn't an option any more?). Why is there such a big difference between the two?? From the looks of it, I basically have to walk a 5k daily with my Fitbit just to match what MFP says I burn just by…

Healthy Christmas morning breakfast ideas??
Hi guys! So I'm hosting Christmas this year and I'm looking for some healthy breakfast recipes to serve my family. My dad eats high protein/low carb due to his gastric bypass. I'm looking for something really special that I can make for the whole family. It doesn't have to be necessarily easy, as I don't mind cooking. Just…

Getting back on track after pregnancy
I'm really struggling getting back to losing weight after having my baby. I feel like I'm starting from square one. I really WANT to stay within my calories, but I'm struggling with snacking/mindless eating and I keep pushing myself hundreds of calories above my goal (I have it set to 1lb/week loss). I'm eating like crazy…

Morning sickness??
With my first I just threw up constantly, so I was expecting that this time around. However, My morning sickness has been so weird this time around.Does anyone else experience this?? I am nauseated when I haven't eaten. After I eat, I suffer through even WORSE nausea and stomach pains for several minutes until it finally…

I wasn't expecting exercise to be this hard already...
Any runner mommas here who ran through your pregnancy? I'm only 6 weeks, and I'm already struggling so bad with the exhaustion. I was running like 25 miles per week before getting pregnant. Now I'm lucky to force myself through 3 miles at a much slower pace. I know it will get better (and then worse again), but I just need…

Success with weight machines??
I know that the general stance of MFP leans towards free weights (stronglifts, NROWL, starting strength, etc), but I was just curious what success (if any) anyone has had with using just the machines. Sorry if this has been asked before!

Good News/Bad News
So I ran my first "15k" race (actually was split up into a 10k and then a 5k back to back), and I did pretty well!! 10k- 1:12:42 5k- 35:45 Slow, I know, but still good considering I just started running in May. Anyway, I'm super excited, but ever since the race, I can't put weight on the ball of my right foot :( . Boo...…

I'm afraid I'll hate lifting
I'm a total cardio junkie! I know I'll eventually need to start lifting heavy soon for strength and aesthetics (I definitely DON'T want to be just skin and bones). The thing is, running and me... We've been best buds since I started running in May. It was a very easy and relatable sport to get into to get me moving once…

Not sure what to do next...
I've been a member of this group for a while now, but this is my first post. So, first I'd like to say "Hello"! I have a 15k race coming up one week from today. I just started running in May, so I'm still pretty new. Up until now, I've been using an app on my phone to increase my long runs. My weekly schedule is usually:…

I was doing so well, you guys....
I've lost 45lbs since January, and I was doing so well!!! I don't know what the heck happened between then and now--whether it was birthday parties, the change in season, sheer laziness, or half marathon training, but I have completely fallen off the bandwagon. I'm totally embarassed when I look back at my food diary. I'm…

Should I change my calorie goal?
So quick background: I am 5'6'' SW:223 CW:178 GW:135-140 Myfitnesspal has automatically adjusted my daily calorie allowance to 1200/day for a 1.5lb/week weight loss (I've had it set at this since I started. I do have my activity level set at sedentary only because I sync my fitbit, and I find it more accurate that way…

Still feeling exhausted...
This is morning two after my 6k, and I still feel completely exhausted. I really really pushed myself (or I should say, my running partner pulled me along), and I ended up finishing with an 8min PR. I'm not super sore--just some mild shin pain in my left leg. It's more just feeling heavy, slow, stiff, and tired. I'm not…

When should I change activity level??
I started MFP about 6 months ago and I had my activity level set at sedentary. Now that I am working out, I still have it set at sedentary because I only run 4 days a week. I'm a SAHM, so on my rest days, I'm lucky if I get 3000 steps in. Each 1-2 lbs I lose, MFP subtracts like 30 calories from my allowance. Now that I'm…

What is your go-to meal/day after overeating?
I had a date night with my husband followed by a birthday party, and I went over my calories for the last two days. I'm not looking for a fad diet or cleanse, just meal ideas that will help me feel less crappy.

Fitbit does GPS tracking now?
I just noticed my app updated. Apparently, you can now use the fitbit app to track run stats in real time. Just curious if anyone has tried it yet. If so, is it pretty accurate to your current tracking method?

HELP! I'm regressing!
Hi everyone!! I just graduated C25K on Friday, so I wasn't sure if I should post this here or on the C25K board, but here's my issue: Today was my first attempt at W1D1 (or W9D1, according to my 0-10k app). It had me running 20minutes, walking 3 minutes, and running another 20 minutes. I'm not sure what got into me, but I…

Take your "before" pics early!!
I've been on MFP since February 1st. While I still have a long way to go, I've lost a total of 25 lbs through calorie counting and C25k (I just completed it yesterday). I (like many people, I'm sure) was WAY too self conscious to take an official "before" picture. So, naturally, I've been telling people that I haven't…

Weight loss has totally stalled
I posted this originally on the motivation board, but I think it shod have gone here instead. Sorry for the duplicate posts! I've been on MFP since Feb 1st, and I am down 22lbs so far (down from 223 to 201). Everything was going great for the first couple of months, but my progress has completely stalled over the last…

In need of some serious motivation...
I've been on MFP since Feb 1st, and I am down 22lbs so far (down from 223 to 201). Everything was going great for the first couple of months, but my progress has completely stalled over the last month or so. I've been gaining and losing the same 3 lbs. I really am trying hard to break into the 100s for good, so I'd…

Dissapointed :(
I am so bummed with myself right now!!! Today was supposed to mark my last week in C25K--my 28 minute run. I only made it about 21 minutes today (and had to dig deep for that) before my legs got all wobbly on me and I totally hit a wall. I'm fairly certain that it was a combination of the heat (it's nearly 80 here this…

Do you back strength training calories?
If so, how do you know how much to eat back?? I am currently finishing up c25k and I just started a body weight strength routine through an app on my phone. My fitbit shows my calorie burn from my run, but when I enter my strength routine, it doesn't give me credit for a calorie burn. Does this mean I should only eat back…

My hips make me feel like I'm 90...
Does anyone else deal with "crunchy" hips?? Every time I stretch, it sounds like I'm crushing bones, lol. I've always had this to a mild degree, but it seems to be getting worse as I continue to run regularly. It's not really painful, just annoying.

Non-run days
When will it be ok for me to start walking on non-running days? I am at W7D1 tomorrow. I don't own a bike or have a gym membership, so swimming and biking are out of play for me as far as cross training goes. I'm going to start strength training, but I'll admit, I'm a bit of a cardio junkie now, lol.

Question about strength training...
Is week 3 too early to start strength training on my off days? I know the app that I'm using says to wait until week 4, but I feel like I should be doing more than just run/walking 3 times a week.

When will this stop hurting?!
I'm a total newbie to running. I started a couple of months ago building up a good walking base and losing 15lbs (now down to 205) because I knew I wanted to do the C25K program (actually, it's 5k Runner on my phone). The first couple of days were great, but then by the third day my calves were knotted up so tight that I…
