Candida overgrowth and its' effect on weight loss
I've been doing a lot of research lately on issues that can impede weight loss because if another well meaning person tells me that weight loss is a simple matter of less calories in than out.... I may just kick them in the head :) I have worked my butt off; used a HRM to get accurate calories burned during workouts;…

Question for the fellas...
1 When is the last time you thought your wife was sexy? 2 When is the last time you told her?

HRM vs bodybugg... which is more accurate?
I have been using a HRM to monitor calories burn during exercise. My chest strap shorter out so now I'm looking into a replacement. I found an awesome deal on a bodybugg that syncs to my smart phone. So which is more accurate for calories burn during exercise and where should I put my money?

Salsa as a condiment
I made some great homemade salsa with veggies fresh from my friend's garden. Tortilla chips are the obvious accompaniment but that should be an infrequent treat. I do enjoy some in my scrambled eggs but I don't know else to use it. What do you do with.salsa?

Has anyone tried this? Did it work? Side effects?Long term results? I am doing all the "right" things and still not losing weight so I was thinking of trying this to kick start done results.

How do you keep from going over on sugar?
Even when I'm eating really well it seems I am always going over on sugar. MFP doesn't differentiate between fruit sugars and processed sugar (in my mind there is a difference). Also there seem to be sugars in even unlikely places... I am always under on carbs but over on sugar. What things should I be eating so I can rid…

Ever done the BodPod?
I went to a continuing education course today and the instructor said that body comp was a better measure of increased strength than 1 rep max (which I totally agree with). He feels that the best way to measure that is the BodPod. I found out that the University of Utah offers this service and I'm really interested in…

Lactating Ladies?!?
I am currently exclusively breastfeeding my 2 month old son. He is my 4th but I have always struggled with having enough milk. This little guy has had a few other issues that have added up to a pretty rough start with nursing. When he was 2 weeks old I was only .6# away from pre-pregnancy but with all the stress and not…

Eating for pregnancy -300 calories
I am 23 weeks pregnant and I just saw in the food diary a listing for Eating for pregnancy -300 calories. I had my diary set at 750 calorie deficit per day before I got pregnant and then decreased it to a 500 calorie per day deficit when I found out I was pregnant. Is this -300 calories something I should use? How have you…

Too Much Sugar
So I recently added sugar as one of the factors to track on my daily log ad I went back about 3 weeks and found that I was ALWAYS over and sometimes DOUBLE. My question is... should the "sugar" in fruits and milk count against me? These are healthy forms of sugar and 8 ounces of milk has 11g of sugar. So if I only count…

Calories burned using a Heart Rate Monitor
So I recently bought a HRM so that I could track calories expended better. Because I am being so specific (ie. anal) in measuring and recording my food intake, the only piece of the puzzle I was guess-timating was exercise. So I have discovered that (for me) MFP under-estimates some things and over-estimates others. I wore…

Anybody use a NuStep?
I'm a Physical Therapist and we have 2 NuStep machines at work (it's like a recumbant stepper). So this is the machine I work out on during lunch time at work. Any idea what I should log that exercise as?

Exercise vs Activity?
So I've been noticing that because I have kids, live in a house with stairs, and have an active job (Physical Therapist) that there are A LOT of daily activities that burn calories that I could include on my exercise log. I generally don't. I mostly just put in my specific workout. What do you do? I'm new and I'm pretty…

Just a teeny bit about me
Hi! I'm Bethany. I am currently 253# and 5' 7 1/2" and I wear a size 18 pants. What that means is I am very "sturdy" for my size. I was a varsity swimmer in highschool and small is not in my genetics. So even in HS as an athlete I usually wore a size 10 pants and was 170# My realistic goal weight is 190#, but I would…

Friend requests....?
Where do friend requests show up? My e-mail says I have 3, but when I get on MFP I can't find them anywhere. How can I accept them if I can't find them?

Exercising when sick
So I have had strep. The first day I knew I was coming down with something, but not sure what and since we were planning to go out to dinner that night, I made sure to get 2 workouts in. Wow! My body hurt SO bad. The next day I was to sick to move, much less workout. But now I'm on the path to recovery. Should I try to…
