Just a teeny bit about me

Hi! I'm Bethany. I am currently 253# and 5' 7 1/2" and I wear a size 18 pants. What that means is I am very "sturdy" for my size. I was a varsity swimmer in highschool and small is not in my genetics. So even in HS as an athlete I usually wore a size 10 pants and was 170#
My realistic goal weight is 190#, but I would obviously love to lose even more. I am keeping my calories at about 1600-1800 net (so I do eat a good portion of my exercise calories). I have recently realized that my body was in starvation mode because I was eating too little and working out too much. I joined MFP to help me track my food and make sure I am getting enough calories. So far so good. I work out 4-5x/week using Walk Away the Pounds and Jillian's 30 day Shred.
My biggest challenge at this point is my schedule. I have 3 kids and work PRN (anywhere from 1-3 days/week). I am a Physical Therapist so my job is very active and I do include some exercise in my journal on the days I work, but I try to low-ball my estimate. I had been really well on track in Jan and Feb without many results. So in March I am changing things up a little and getting back on track.
We all need support and I especially need help not getting discouraged.
My biggest motivation was a patient saying (about me) "Hmmm.... You wouldn't think a Physical Therapist would be so......." and you could tell the F-word (FAT) was on the tip of her tongue. Weight has been a life-long struggle for me, but that's really what got me ready to commit this time around.

Welcome Bethany! This site has been a great tool for me, despite having taken nutition course in the last few years counting calories was beyond me. I track everything and feel that it has helped me get on track with my fitness and weight-loss goals.
Good luck, you can do it!0 -

Thanks! I am really glad I don't "look my weight" I am also quite fit for my size. I don't know many others my size that could keep up, but obviously something wasn't really working for me so I'm here to get it.0
