365 consecutive days on MFP *Pics*
Diagnosed with PCOS, and dangerously close to being diabetic, my doctor told me I needed to lose weight or risk becoming diabetic very soon. That very day, 1/10/11, I started my weight loss journey. I was 247.9lbs. By 1/10/12 -- with diet & exercise -- I had lost 72lbs. Whats better? ALL of my labs were, for the first time…

Easter candy - did you splurge?
For the most part this holiday weekend I done good. I didn't exercise near as much as I typically do, but I did I eat veggies, some fruit and had complete control over my portions. I "screwed up" and had a mini cadbury egg late last night, and a sliver thin piece of moms pumpkin cake today. I'm all about indulging, so long…

One Year with MFP -- Pics*
I was diagnosed with PCOS on January 10 2011. Worst news I've ever gotten. Add borderline diabetic to that, it was a very emotional day for me. I was put on BC, and Metformin -- the highest dose. I knew I needed to lose weight, but it took hearing it from the doctor to actually do it. As of last Wednesday, I am OFF…

One Year Later -- Transformation Pictures
Today is a day I will not soon forget. A day my life changed, for the better. I was diagnosed with PCOS on January 10, 2011. When the doctor said PCOS, I instantly thought "will I be unable to conceive another baby blessing?" Admittedly, I cried -- then smiled knowing I had 2 beautiful babies she had said were miracles.…

60.2 lost -- *Progress Pics*
I started my weight loss journey after being diagnosed with PCOS back in early January 2011. Since then, my Metformin dose has gone from 1700 to 850, and my blood glucose level is now at an 88 from being borderline diabetic. After losing the first 50 back at the end of August, I hit a wall but was determined to keep going.…

I lost my son!
First, you didn't really think I meant that literally, did you?! First, a random picture taken at my heaviest back in late 2010 -- 8 months later, while struggling with PCOS, I have managed to lose my son -- in weight!! He weighs 50lbs. I never realized how much 50lbs was until he JUMPED on my back last night. So…

50lbs down! Pics --
Recently wrote a post called "I lost my son!" I did not mean to offend anyone, at all, and I apologize if I did. I felt obligated to make a new one with a better title & smaller pics (I hope) In 8 months, while struggling with PCOS, I have managed to lose the amount my son weighs!! He weighs 50lbs. I never realized…

Lab work results!
December 2010 I had a ton of lab tests run, the biggest was the Hemoglobin A1c and it showed my level at 5.7 - Borderline diabetic. Ouch. April 2011, the tests were run again only this time I did the regular fasting glucose test -- I was at 96. Within the normal range. July 20 I did the tests, again. Glucose level is now…

Work in progress w/ new pic!
I posted a full body pic not long ago on my changes during my journey to lose weight, which started January 11 2011 -- but today I came across a close-up face shot I didn't know I had from when I was at my heaviest. Compared to the pic I took yesterday, I look like a different person ...and I'm okay with that!!! 41.9lbs…

Just shy of halfway! *pics*
I am just shy of my weightloss halfway mark of 43.5lbs, but I am so excited about what I saw in the mirror yesterday I just felt the urge to see if anyone else can really see the difference I see. Please excuse the smudge marks on my daughters mirror :embarassed: Btw I can take brutal honesty  The middle picture on…

Swimsuit NSV
Our pool is open, which meant it was time to dig out the swimsuit. It was tight and very uncomfortable last year so I only wore it at home, which sucked because it's a super cute design for a big girls swimsuit. I dug it out looked at it and thought surely it'll fit perfect this year having dropped 35lbs... It did NOT fit…

Today is a good day! *pics*
I started my weight loss journey after my doctor confirmed my worst fear -- PCOS and borderline diabetes to name a few. I was put on medications and made a decision that day I was NOT going to let medical issues run my life. I started bettering myself after that appointment -- that was January 11, 2011. Up until today I…

Depressed & eating..
I didn't know where else to turn, so I thought I'd post here. Me and hubs good friend was involved in a head on collision early this morning. I waited all day to hear news, and just recently learned it's not good. He is in the intensive care with a fractured skull along with other injuries. When I get depressed, stressed,…

Frustrated :(
How can one person lose 20lbs and drop 4 pant sizes, and I can lose nearly 30lbs and stay in the same size jeans I was in when I started 30lbs heavier?!! UGHHH!! It makes no sense! I know everyones different, but when you see someone your height lose less than you and they are getting smaller doesn't that frustrate you…

Silly NSV *blush*
I'm not the only one out there with silly NSV moments, but this one kinda floored me as it hasn't been like this in about 5 years. I thought I'd share. Here goes.... :blushing: My boobs actually stick out further than my belly now!!! Thats HUGE considering them darn mountains almost always take over  Ah, yes. Thank…

A common dilemma...
Some people say don't eat your exercise calories back, others say its essential. I've read a lot about this, yet I'm still unsure whats best... Take for instance today... I burned 1400+ calories from 2 straight hours of tennis. I've already eaten 660 calories, thus far today, and my net is negative 793. I never can make my…

NSV!
For those who have Zumba for the Wii, you know it comes with a belt. I got it for Christmas 2010 and I looked at the belt thinking I know damn well that belt ain't gonna fit me ... and sure enough I couldn't even get the 2 edges to touch. I didn't even want to try it on in front of the family. How embarrassing. So, I've…

Tilapia recipes?
I am all about trying new things, even if it means eating seafood in which I've gagged over since growing up on the coast of Maine. Are you thinking - "WHAT?! From a seafood state and you don't like seafood?" Yup, thats right, I said it. Yuck! With both of those things in mind, does anyone have any good recipes for fresh…

Another NSV I had to share!
My latest blood test - cholesterol and blood sugar - is improving and I'm no longer dangerously close to becoming diabetic!! "Keep up the great work Tasha, your doing wonderful!" she said. That was by far the best phone call I've received in a VERY long time!

Must be doing something right!
After talking to the doctor today, I found out the weight I THOUGHT was my highest...turns out was NOT! December 20 2011 appointment I weighed 239. January 10 2011 appointment I was a whopping 246.9!!! :noway: I didn't know because during that last weigh-in I turned my back to the scale. Surely I'm not alone! I did the…

Up then down
I worked my *kitten* off today doing an hour & 3 miles on the treadmill, 30 minutes yoga and strength training on the wii fit+, and just finished 30 minutes shooting hoops with my kids. I was feeling great, then I came inside changed my clothes and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Totally ruined my spirit. I can't…

A small NSV :)
The last time I played tennis I couldn't run for the ball or leap to hit it, had to take several sit down breaks, couldn't breathe at all, and after an hour of that I was so done. Fast forward a year - today. 2+ hours of straight through non-stop tennis with no sit down breaks, did not get winded, was leaping to hit the…

In need of new shoes..
This may be a lame question, but I need opinions on what would be a really durable athletic sneaker for running/walking - and are not overly expensive? I have a pair of sketchers, I bought them to snug on a whim because they were cute. I also have some nikes for walking, but they are SO incredibly old and worn. I need some…

New to MFP - Hello :)
I just wanted to write and say hello :) I am fairly new to this site, so I let me introduce myself. My name is Tash. I am 30 years old with 2 fabulous kiddos, and an amazing hubby. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, have many problems that go along with it, and have started this weightloss journey rather blind. I'm not…
