Craving Ribs! Help with counting please :)
So I have been wanting ribs and finally I gave in and got some. I was avoiding them because I had no idea how to count them. But I got a package of pork side ribs or spare ribs and I am going to cook them plain then add on a measured amount of bbg sauce(I know the calories in that can add up) but what I was struggling with…

Bits and Bites
So I was trying to portion out snacks and I noticed a large issue with Bits and bites. The package says 220 cal for 50 g or about 3/4 c. When I weighed it out 50 g is a lot more than 3/4 c. 3/4c was about 32 g. What do I do? Anyone know the correct information?

Peanuts in shell
How do you log peanuts in a shell? I searched but not many promising things come up. Is 32g of shelled peanuts really 200 cal?

Ice cream weighing?
I am loving my food scale and think it is helping me control my calories, but I am a bit stumped...why does 1c, 250 mL, of ice cream/frozen yogurt, not weigh 250g? It was only like 90 or so

Had a wicked day...help me eat back
So today I was super stressed and didn't have to be anywhere so I spent the day exercising. I am really unsure of how much I should eat today though just because it is so much more exercise than normal. I don't want to gain weigh though so I'm worried about the accuracy of logging and how much to eat back. Can you guys…

Which would you use?
I know this comes up a lot but I am trying to get to the bottom of it. Everyone says that a HR monitor is needed to figure out your calorie burn as MFP is inaccurate. Do you think MFP is more or less accurate than http://calorielab.com/burned/? Currently I log 1/2 the time I exercise into MFP, but I'm not convinced this is…

I have now lost the weight and need to start switching to maintaining. I'd love any advice or tips you guys have. I am in definite need of a how to :) Feel free…

It's not always a bed of roses...
Don't get me wrong, there are SO many benefits to losing weight, eating healthy and/or eating healthy but it can also be difficult at times. I thought it'd be nice to have a place to vent about the hard things or disadvantages. I think we can all relate and will find comfort in knowing that we are not alone. 1) having to…

% accuracy of MFP calorie burns
I always see people saying how MFP severely over estimates calorie burn for exercise. I've seen recommendations to only log 50% of the time done, or only eat back 1/3-2/3 of the calories it gives you. Obviously having a HR monitor on would be the best solution but for those who can't I was wondering if anyone who wears one…

Nutrition loss from over cooking?
I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge or facts on whether foods lose their nutrition if you over cook them? Which nutrients and how long is too long? Right now my 2 main foods I've been eating that could be over cooked are turnip and zucchini. I boil the turnip cubes for about 40 min? And the zucchini I slice…

Don't worry about the holidays...
I have been really stressing about going home for the Easter holidays. I'll be home for about 4 days and I will have to forgo my exercise routine and stop eating my 'diet foods/meal plan'. I will have to eat the family dinner (extra calorific on Easter), there will be emphasis placed on eating what others do at other meals…

Confused about macros?
So I know it is a much debated topic. I get that weight loss is about a deficit and it doesn't matter how you make up those calories. Other than some foods keeping you fuller, give you nutrients (donut vs apple or meat) etc. But what about for health? Does the macro numbers matter for health? muscle gain?

Can anyone pateau?
Is it possible to plateau at any size deficit? Even if you eat under the calorie goal or don't eat back exercise? Does exercising everyday do this? Does too large of a deficit do this?

What's the fiber?
I really wish MFP calculated how much fiber you ate everyday. I know this is important for gut and heart health and for keeping you full. I believe a female needs at least 25g? Is that correct? Should I have more? Is there too much? I have no idea how much fiber I currently eat. I eat some vegetables (3c iceberg lettuce,…

more calories + exercise vs less calories and no exericse
I was wondering if anyone found one way to be more effective than the other, at purely weight loss. Is it better to eat more and exercise so you are burning calories or to eat less and not exercise? I find I have to eat more so that I have energy to exercise but I wonder if I would just lose more weight not exercising and…

Repetitive eating or variation better for weight loss?
I was just wondering what your opinion was on eating the same things day in and day out or switching it up and eating different things everyday (well some of the same I'd assume). Are there some foods you should eat everyday vs some you shouldn't? (assuming you stay in your calorie goal). Also, do you think you should eat…

How accurate is MFP for your maintenance?
I am currently ready to switch to maintenance (so done with extreme deficits) and I am terrified of gaining it all back. How accurate have you found the suggested maintenance calories have been for you? Any advice? I don't think I have maintained for long in the last 3 years.

Scared to increase
So I know this has probably been addressed many times...but here it goes... I have been netting an intake of under 1200 because I was really impatient about my weight loss. It doesn't seem to be moving fast though so I feel like it may not be worth it. I am lacking energy a lot, don't feel rested and dread exercising…
