I am loving my food scale and think it is helping me control my calories, but I am a bit stumped...why does 1c, 250 mL, of ice cream/frozen yogurt, not weigh 250g? It was only like 90 or so

Cup measurements aren't entirely accurate. Some people don't fill it all the way, may round it off or overfill it, ect...
My scale does a tare for the weight of the bowl, and then I weigh out whatever serving I want manually. More accurate.0 -

250mL of water would equal 250g because the density of water is 1g/mL. Ice cream however has a different density so the same will not hold true. Whenever you're given the option, ALWAYS weigh your food. The only things you should be measuring the volume of are actual liquids like milk, oil, water, etc. Everything else should be weighed.0 -
I guess I had a blonde moment...I know that liquidvolumes equal mass...forgot to taken the frozen/airiness of frozen yogurt nto account...sorry0
