Do you actually wash your HRM chest strap?
The directions say to throw in the washing machine every 5 wears. I always rinse mine off after each use--is this sufficient or should I actually be throwing it in the washing machine?

Being T1 Diabetic & Low Blood Sugar
Being a T1 diabetic sucks. Some days, it's not so bad--obviously life could be worse--but this is my cross to bear so when it sucks there's really not much others can say or do to change my mindset. I had such a great day yesterday... had fantastic endo appointment and hit an 11 lb. loss. I was smiling ear to ear. Then,…

Going to California Pizza Tonight... OMG!

Bizarre Exercise Question for Type 1 Diabetics....
I began doing kickboxing about a month ago and I absolutely love it. I had been avoiding vigorous exercise because I was afraid of having my levels drop. Since being on MFP I've decided that I will just have to find a way to make it work and stop with the excuses. So now I'm hooked but there's one thing that's really been…

T1 Pump Diabetics... Need Your Help
Since starting MFP--and especially very recently--my insulin needs have lowered dramatically. This is a very good/very bad thiing. The last couple of days, particularly in the AM, I have had to completely turn off my pump. This morning I went from 71at 9 AM to 32 just a few minutes ago. I am not sure how I am even capable…

Going over your sugar limit
Is this really going to prevent you from losing weight? I have no loss last week after staying within my calories, doing kickboxing twice, bike riding once, and Zumba once. I watch my sodium intake and it's not that time of the month where I'm retaining water. I'm just wondering if going over your sugar limit (and note…

Tell me what protein powder you use...
and why. I'd love to also see nutritional info, if you have it, ie, calories, protein, sugars, carbs per serving. I am currently using some leftover Isagenix Protein Shake Powder but it's super high in calories--240 per serving (2 scoops). Would love to hear other options!

Going for Sushi... Help
My husband is taking for sushi today for lunch for our anniversary. I will just bypass the soy sauce--low sodium or not--but wondered if there was a "best" choice to make with the least amount of sodium/calories. I know I am definitely getting edamame... I love New York Rolls... Tuna Rolls... any pre-advice would be so…

Best things to eat pre-workout and post-workout for a Diabet
Last week I did my first kickboxing class and got really lucky chosing to drink an Isagenix shake with soy milk before my workout so that when I got home and tested my blood sugar I was at 72--not great but not as bad as I was worried it would be. Well, I was REALLY full from it so only drank about 1/2 and finished the…

Flat Out Wraps...How Do You Store Them?
I made myself a wrap for the first time to bring to work for lunch. I have to make my lunch the night before. Well I wrapped it in Saran Wrap and today it is WET. G.R.O.S.S. I had to eat it anyways but would love some suggestions on how to store it overnight so that it actually enjoyable to eat the next day!

Going for the first time to kickoxing...
and I am getting anxious. Partly because I will be disconnecting my insulin pump and it's a crap shoot whether I'll make it through without keeling over. Partly because I haven't done ANY sort of strenuous activity in eons. And have I mentioned I hate to sweat? I know the hardest part is just getting going and that it will…

Just gonna toot my horn a little...
Saw my endocrinologist today... Best A1C (3 month blood sugar average) in about a year... near perfect blood pressure... and the dr. scale didn't register 8 lbs. more than my home scale and make me feel like a fat *kitten*... CAN I GET A HELL YEAH?! THANK YOU MFP!

Wanted to share these chicken recipes....
I get the Prevention.com emails and I thought all of these receipes looked fantastic. Though I haven't made any myself yet, I'm sure some and/or all receipe ingredients can be tweaked to lower calories even more. I would imagine because it's from Prevention that they already start off pretty healthy. And the pictures look…

Zig-Zagging Calories & Exercise
I am about to begin Week 2 of zig-zagging calories and will be adding exercise to my routine, however, I really don't know how I'm going to eat back those calories as I had a hard enough time eating the extra calories week 1. Did everyone who has zig-zagged exercise also... eat back or not eat back their calories... any…

Zig Zagging--Don't know if this is gonna really work...
I am on Day 3 of Zig-Zagging. My 1796 calorie day. UGH. This was super rough to even eat this many calories and I am really not sure this is going to work at all. I have read soooo many posts on here about it working for others so I keep trying to remind myself of this, but if I have one more week of nothing happening I…

Is there such a thing as low-sodium chili sauce?
I saw a recipe posted here that included chili sauce. I never use this and the one time I did was shocked to see how much sodium is in it. I'm making an appetizer for a friend's BBQ, who is also on MFP, and don't want to bring something that'll have us both bloated on Sunday. :) Is there such a thing as low-sodium chili…

Steel Cut Oatmeal--BLECH!
I was inspired by these board to make Steel Cut Oatmeal for the first time. Did the slow cooker recipe and sat down to my first bowl this morning that I had added peanut butter, cinnamon sugar and blueberries to. YUCK. What did I do wrong? I used 3 C of water and 1 C 1% milk. The texture is making me gag and it is SO…
