Garmin watch calories burned.
I have a forerunner 225 with optical hr. I just had a lactic threshold test done and tweaked my train zones based on that. Ever since my calorie burned tally have been a lot less. I'm 180 lbs and some of the numbers garmin is giving me is in the 75-85 calories per mile range, then the next mile could be 110. The hr data…

June Training In The Books
With my 5 mile recovery run this morning it marked an end to my second highest running mileage month at 239.53, which is an average run of just under 8 miles per days. Garmin also calculated my calorie burn from running at 30,700. Next month the training schedule has 289 miles listed with (3) 20 mile long runs, yikes.

Race Weight Cookbook
I bought this 4 weeks ago and have tried 12-15 of the recipes and really liked most of them. With my training volume I was having a hard time finding enough good food to eat to replace my calorie burns. Was getting burned out eating peanut butter toast & 5-6 eggs every morning & I hated eating extra protein bars, protein…

Pete Pfitzinger 18/70 Marathon Plan
Anyone tackled this plan? if so any advice and were you able to cut significant time off your PR? I stared it today and it's no joke with a week 1 long run of 15 miles and midweek run of 11.

Effect of Wind on Heartrate & Pace
I've always been a data junkie to a certain degree, but found this easy effort run last night very informative. I like to run via HR effort and keep my HR about 10-15 BPM below my steady state of 160 on easy runs. We had a stiff 25mph sustained South wind with gusts of upto 45mph last night. My first 3 miles or so were…

80/20 running questions.
I've been reading this 80/20 book and have a few questions or clarifications. I had a lactic threshold and max HR test done recently to help identify and pinpoint my training zone. Currently Z2 (easy) is up to 140 BPM, Z3 (aerobic) is up to 157 (78% of Max). Z4 threshold is 158-162 and Z5 Hard is 162-190(max). Based on the…

New Garmin 225 Watch calorie totals way high
I broke down and brought the new Gamin 225 watch yesterday and ran with it today. I had always used runkeeper before to log my runs but installed Garmin Connect to better track all the data from the watch. I thought I had it all setup correctly but after my 9 mile run this morning and syncing to myfitnesspal it had my run…

Heart Rate Training Advice
I recently got one of those fancy running watches with a heart rate monitor. I've run for several years just using my phone for mileage ques without a care in the world to heart rate. I'm currently training for a March marathon and decided to take this training a little more serious over the numerous 10k and Half distances…

Interval training runs
I've recently decided I want to run my half marathons at a faster pace. I'm comfortable running at a 9:00 min pace and run 25-35 miles a week. I typically do not do any interval training runs but decided after running a 24:14 (7:49 pace) 5k charity run the other day, this winter I'd try to make getting faster a priority. I…
