HOLIDAY EATING PLAN
I’m ready – any other suggestions? This worked for me at Thanksgiving… MY HOLIDAY EATING PLAN: 1) Plan to continue to stay in control of food/exercise decisions 2) Exercise today & tomorrow morning to avoid the “I’ll walk it of the next day” approach. 3) I’ll be wearing tight clothes, so I don’t get that “sweat-pant…

CALORIES CONSUMED / BURNED (Tracking Thoughts)
There are always going to be conflicting numbers when tracking depending upon the source, how measured etc. I decided last year to go with the lower number on calories burned and higher number on calories consumed assuming somewhere throughout the week I missed something (like 5 sugarless cough drops at 7 calories ea. LOL)…

Anyone use a smart scale?
Anyone use a smart scale? I’m thinking of buying the Taylor #7222F Bluetooth Body Fat Smart Scale. It has many good reviews – some other scales (even much more expensive) don’t seem to perform as well.

Fast-food & frozen dinners are tempting BUT
Fast-food & frozen dinners are tempting with hectic schedules. BUT I have found – with just a little planning healthy low-calorie dinners can be just as easy and quick to prepare. Below are just a few of my own meal creations that took 30 minutes or less to prepare. All of them are 250 calories or less…not that I don’t eat…

Do you find “food presentation” important?
Do you find “food presentation” important? In my opinion, food that looks good (presented properly) is more appetizing. Colors, placement and combinations can be a big plus. Nothing is worse than eating meals that scream it is a “diet dinner”. No matter how delicious something might be – a dirty plate, cheap flimsy paper…

October 27, 2014 - Happy Camper
Three (3) lb. loss…one step closer. Still have another 25-35 lbs. to final goal. I have re-set goals a couple times – my orig. goal is only 4 lbs. away from current weight. In the end, I will still weigh more than “desired” number on any height / weight chart, but it is where I know I will be satisfied / comfortable. Met…

I'm in...
Treadmill has been my key (if not only) exercise. I could barely move last winter. Slowly I started walking…10 min, then 15 etc. … today I did 50 minutes for the first time at a moderate 3.1 pace. While I need to do some strength exercising in the mix, the treadmill has been great for me. I always have my headphones on…

You don’t want to lose more do you?
You don’t want to lose more do you? How many times have I heard that in the last few months? Then someone else will say: “you look great. You aren’t fat.” The facts are: I have gone from “severe obesity” to “morbid obesity” to “super obesity” to “obese” – next stop is “mildly obesity.” There is no way I am not still “fat.”…

Panniculectomy
Thinking ahead a bit. Anyone have experience with getting panniculectomy at age 55+? Or know someone that had it done? All input appreciated. Weight loss to date is 142 lbs. and will be about 170 lb loss at completion in a few months. After carrying well over 100 lbs extra for many years - the elasticity just isn't there.

HOW I LOST 142 (not finished yet) - My plan
Thrilled with today's 7 LB loss….it has never happened before and don’t expect it again. My goal from the beginning has been about 2 lbs. a week loss. (Only recently started regular walking and watching water intake). My loss last week is - not realistic and I DO EAT A VERY HEALTHY DIET! I do not consider myself some kind…

A typical breakfast for me (photo)
On a very low calorie daily intake -- but always make sure I get the right ones. This was my breakfast this morning. I always vary my meals. Some days, you might see me eating halibut for breakfast the next day eggs. I have no rules...other than healthy content. BREAKFAST: Egglands Best (1); Fresh Beef (1 ¼ oz.); Broccoli…

Now for those last 40 or 50 pounds
Readers Digest version: Thought it (I) was a lost cause after years of extreme morbid obesity and other health issues. As a last-ditch effort, I decided to try a phone app to track calories with an extremely low daily range. I was using a different app until this week and transferred all my historical data to MyFitnessPal.…
