NSV/SV
We belong to a civic organization that doesn't meet in December or January, so we had our first meeting of the new year; a member whom I've not seen for about 5 months didn't recognize me until I spoke to greet her! That was a very nice NSV; but the SV is that I'm now in 'one-derland' :drinker:

A 'well cruds' NSV
My nephew is getting married on the 21st. I have a very expensive size 16 Blackwatch plaid worsted wool dress that has been hanging in my closet for about 10 years. Its a classic Princess style, so I thought since I'm now a 16 I have the wedding weeds sorted. Wrong.......way, way wrong. Its flipping HUGE, like hanging in…

Exercise NSV
My knees have been rubbished by arthritis, so I jokingly call the elliptical 'the devil machine', but this morning I did 15 minutes at level 2!!! I can now easily do 30 minutes on level one so I thought I'd give it a go, and I did it! Now to build up to 30 minutes :)

A question...
I have arthritis, and with the cold wet weather here in beautiful Ohio my knees have been swollen, especially the left one. I'm still getting on the elliptical for 15 minutes or until my knee aches a bit. Is the swelling enough to account for a 3 pound weight gain? I drink a gallon of water a day and stick to my caloric…

Drumroll, please
After being diagnosed with diabetes 30 May this year as of this morning's checkup I am: 1) No longer classified as a diabetic 2) no longer on any meds at all aside from my daily allergy tab. I was even able to dump the BP meds I've taken the last 10 years.

A Sad NSV
I made this very nice vee neck jumper, black with gray, sky blue and slate blue diagonal stripes across the front a couple years ago. I've had many, many compliments on my knitting skills because of it. Its quite windy today so I pulled it off the shelf...and its beyond roomy; the sleeves come over my hands and it's mid…

Charity Shop NSV
I normally wear jeans most of the time, especially to show houses as with the bank owned properties one never knows what one will find. I have a closing today and pulled out a pair of dress trousers that I was confident I would now be able to fit into even though they were 2 sizes smaller than when I started this journey;…

A Small Victory
...but huge to me  My office is in the lower level of our home and over the summer my lovely husband rebuilt the stairs and closed in the treads. Prior to him doing that I simply swept the treads clean and then swept the floor under the stairs to finish. Since he added risers he's been cleaning them as I simply…

Two NSV today!
This morning started out well when I pulled out a pair of jeans I had forgotten about and they fit easily. Its probably been 3-4 years since I last wore them. I haven't made bread for a while as I normally needed my hubby to lift the stand mixer from its home in the pantry and to knead the bread as I couldn't stand there…

Bike NSV
We (hubby and I) bought bikes a month ago; I had not ridden a bike in over 35 years and have never owned one. Our first rides about the neighbourhood left me panting and with achy knees. I never thought we lived in a hilly area (we do) because I was always in the truck. We've worked up to riding for a hour at a time. Today…

Some Help Please?
I have rheumatoid arthritis with osetoarthritis in both knees. I am bicycling with my husband for cardio as it doesn't hurt my knees like the elliptical does; i notice when I ride for an hour or so I gain a couple pounds the next day. We ride Monday, Tuesday, Friday and every other Saturday and Sunday, working around his…

Bicycling
I just purchased my very first bike, ever; I bought a Raleigh Venture 7 speed. You can put my knowledge on bikes in a teacup and have plenty of room for cream and sugar  It's very comfortable riding in 5th gear and I know to change to the higher gears when on an incline. How do I figure out my speed and miles…

My First NSV
It has gone from 'sauna' to fall in the past week and it was wet and dreary so I thought I'd see if any of my Lane Bryant blazers fit me....they didn't - they were too big! And a a linen jacket I've not been able to wear in four years fit fine.
