I made this very nice vee neck jumper, black with gray, sky blue and slate blue diagonal stripes across the front a couple years ago. I've had many, many compliments on my knitting skills because of it. Its quite windy today so I pulled it off the shelf...and its beyond roomy; the sleeves come over my hands and it's mid thigh. I look like a child using Mum's wardrobe for a dressing up box  I'm going to have to pass it on to someone who it fits, and its a favourite.

Time to look for yarn at the shops and get my needles out!

  • That is awesome!! Good for you, even if it does mean you have to make another! Success is your reward for working towards your goal and 41 pounds lost is quite amazing!!

When I get some of my weight off, I will be asking you for knitting tips, because I've never even tried it, but always thougth it would be fun to do!

Good luck and keep up the great work!

As sad as you are to see it go, I hope a part of you is happy it doesn't fit! Sounds like it's time to make another!

This is my goal. To be able to have my clothes outgrow me so I can make new. I'm collecting classic patterns of items I want to make myself for when I get to the size I want to be. My main goal is a comfortable size, not so much a weight. To be a healthy size and to feel good about my body is much better for me than just a number on a scale.

Congratulations on the smaller size. Are you going to remake it identical to the favorite one or you changing it up altogether?
  • Aww. I know it sucks that you have to give away something you actually made. In any case, Good job!

Im sure that the new owner will experience the same pleasure in wearing that you did. But time to move on to bigger or rather SMALLER and better things!!!!

I know it is hard to give up a piece of clothing that you love, but I know you will make something as awesome as it was. Good job on losing that many inches.

Oh that is sad. So much time and effort to make something beautiful for yourself, and its different from sewing where you could potentially make alterations. Well, maybe you can give it to someone who will loves it as equally as you have. Then, as you said, you can work on a new project! That is always exciting.

Great news on your progress. That is wonderful!

Well now you just knit a new one.
Its funny I bought the yarn for a pattern I loved last winter. I was going to make it in XL..and thats comical how big that would be on me. I still haven't found the time to knit it yet but I figure by next fall I will be at my goal I'll be knitting a small maybe and have enough yarn to make 2!

I agree with an above post.
    bittersweet not sad. =]
    sounds like a beautiful sweater.
Be happy that you grew out of it that way instead of the opposite.

I LOVE to knit as well. I'm holding off making myself anything new, till I loose more weight. I want to loose at least another 35 before I make myself something NEW.....
I would LOVE to see anythingthat you make yourself in the future :)
