Polar FT7 problems
Hi everyone! I have been using my Polar FT7 for a few months now and I now have a problem with it. During my workout, it would read my heart rate correctly, (i.e. 172 etc), but then randomly, it would show 80 as my heart rate and then 00. It would either stay like that until I restart it or it would take its sweet time to…

Intake questions
Hi, I have recently started stronglifts 5x5 (just completed the second week) and I am feeling so hungry all the time! I would love some opinion on food intake! 1) What's your current intake of calories, on average? This is TOTAL CALORIES EATEN so this would include anything you eat for exercise calories. In other words,…

I was able to get the other 2 sets in after a long rest. Same with my rows...I was to row 90# today but I just…

Question re: Scooby calculator
Hi everyone! I just used the scooby calculator to find out what I should be eating as I feel like my weight has stalled. Here are the stats: I am 177lbs, 5'7, female, and 23 years old (LOL this sounds like dating stats) I do weight training (5x5 three times a week) and then spinning on Tues and Thurs. I rest on sat and…

Hi! Last night, I got a fitness test done at my gym and it showed that I am 33% body fat. I dont fully understand because when I was 200lbs, I was 33% body fat, how can I possibly still be at the same percentage? He made me step on these 2 metal pieces on top of a scale that sent electrodes through my body. Secondly, I am…

Does this seem correct to you?
Hi! I used the highly recommended scooby calculator this morning, and here is what my info is: Female, currently 175lbs, 67 inches (5'7), and I am 23. Currently, I do 3x weight training (just started stronglifts 5x5 yesterday) and spin for an hr 2x a week. So my activity level is set to 1-3 hrs/week of light exercise cuz…

Best way to calculate TDEE
Hi everyone, I currently got a HRM and I took it for a test trial at spin class today. Firstly, obviously the burn recorded includes any calories I would've burned without exercise so I need to account for that. Since I' am not sure what my BMR is, is it safe to just do HRM - 20%? Also, I would love to know how you're…

For those who are successful with TDEE method
Hi! I've been using the TDEE -20% method for quite some time now and it worked at first, but now my weight loss has stalled. I decided to recalculate my TDEE to determine a new calories count for myself. Previously, I've chosen to choose sedentary as my activity level and then eat back my exercise calories. Here is what my…

toasting quinoa?!
Hi everyone! I really want to try quinoa but I'm not really sure how to cook it. I know that lots of people are saying you can cook it just like how you would cook rice, but then I have seen some people say they "toast" it before cooking.... how do you toast it? What does that mean? After you toast it, can you still put it…

A 2-year plateau
Hi Everyone, I started on MFP a few years ago, and within 8-9 months, I was able to lose almost 40lbs. I was really happy with that and thought I was well on my way to my goal. I also thought it was fairly consistent with what I've seen here as I have seen some people lose so much weight in a very short amount of time.…

body fat loss
Hi everyone, I had 16 sessions with a personal trainer (focusing mostly on weights) and each session was 30 minutes long. I saw her twice a week. After the 16 sessions, I did not lose any weight but I lost 1% body fat....is this too little? Also, my trainer said that in order for stationary biking to be "effective", I…
