Hello sneakers. A quiet day for me which was enjoyable. Early grocery shopping followed by a walk on the moors with the pooches when we just missed getting caught in a hailstorm. I could see the clouds hurtling towards us s rushed back to my car. Mundane jobs, mucking out the hen house and sorting through logs to bring into the garden room to dry, then changed my bed so I can set the timer on my washing machine because it does look as if we will get a dry Saturday.
Lovely to see Diane’s post. You do seem to be suffering similar weather to me Diane and I wonder if living on the coast makes us more vulnerable to nasty storms as the oceans warm up. Those fence panels are big to be blowing over!
Betty has been running frantically in her sleep and just woke herself up so I’ll get us all ready for bed.We might walk with Sheila in the morning although she didn’t sound too sure when I called her earlier. Her back is painful after trying on all those boots then earlier today she received a booked phone call from her GP who told her there is nothing he can do to relieve her migraines and she must wait to hear from the consultant about what they might do for her painful back problems.

Hello! A very busy day today. I did several loads of laundry, cleaned some veggies, cooked quinoa, and baked sweet potatoes. I also attended a number of different Zoom classes. I also sorted through my card making supplies in the closet of my spare room upstairs. They are more orderly now. I also started a birthday card for a friend and dug out more options for Easter cards. Still trying to find a pleasing selection of colors.
Jackie, a busy day for you. Sorry Sheila continues to have problems, painful problems. We went from relatively warm to cold weather by the end of the day. More like normal temperatures now. Of course, they think we will have one day of 70+ degree weather next week which is crazy warm.
Sandy, I hope you are having a fabulous time at the hockey game. I went with friends decades ago. Very fast paced and wow, when the puck flies out and hits the barriers, I wanted to duck!
Diane, I am sorry to hear of your eye issues. I happened to catch up with a neighbor out by the mailbox, she had a recent retinal surgery which I still do not really understand. She had a vitreous detachment a few years ago but something changed and this surgery was required. She says she will no longer have floaters or flashes. That sounds good. I don’t know the name but it is amazing they can fix so many things now. She had to wear an eye patch for a day and now is using some eye drops. And by the way, I am glad you guys are not having severe flooding although I can sorry you do have damage to fix.
Hey everyone, try to be safe! It gets more difficult all the time I believe.

Happy Saturday! The hockey game was fun and so exciting with all that they do in between. Cheryl won our tickets so was chosen to play a game for us all to see on the Jumbotron and won an autographed jersey and a $25 BMO card. She is so lucky in contests. It was a late night but worth it.
Nothing but our family zoom call and Church later so a relaxing day.
Lin, you are one busy lady with all you do. Do you every just relax? We weren't right next to the ice but still had good seats. It was so fast that I had a hard time keeping up with the puck. lol
Jackie, I had to laugh when you said Betty was running in her sleep, I have never seen that with any of my dogs. How do you know she was asleep? lol
Anne, in case you read this the Blackhawks played the Canadian Winnipeg Jets and when they played the Canadian Anthem I immediately thought of you. Of course they also played the US anthem as well.
When we went to the parking lot there was enough snow to cover all the cars and it took us a while to find our car but we all got home safe and sound. Have a good day everyone.

Not such a happy Saturday for me because my England rugby team was soundly beaten by Scotland this afternoon!
I was up early because I wanted to wash my hair before walking and Sheila said she would phone around 8am if she decided to join me. In the end she didn’t but that did mean we could walk higher and for a longer time. It was cool and the occasional rainbow appeared to warn me rain wasn’t far away but we managed to get round with only one light shower finding us for a few minutes. I had left turning on the washing machine until morning in order to check weather conditions so switched on before we went out. It was hung out to dry when we got home but as I later sat drinking my morning coffee, heavy rain arrived! It didn’t last too long so by late afternoon the bedding and towels had almost dried and are now draped over the airier.
Sandy, I wish I could post the short video of Betty dreaming, running and snoring so loudly you couldn’t mistake her for being awake! Hopefully she is enjoying zooming across the moors because when I first adopted her she was always barking in her sleep so I imagined she was dreaming of being back in her puppy farm cage. When I lived in Toronto I only went to a hockey match once and like you, was ready to duck if the puck flew up in the air!
That’s the cutest tea set Lin. A busy day yesterday for you with so many cards to create. I love sweet potatoes and am tempted to try growing them myself although not sure our weather is conducive! I agree, keeping safe anywhere in the world isn’t easy these days but we must enjoy each day in our own way, in spite of it!
Time for my bed!

Hello, I had my Zoom classes lined up and planned to finish them and then move on to cards. Well, my Internet stopped working and when it finally started to work, I barely had enough signal to stream a Zoom class. Anyway, I did finish up some classes and started stamping some images to be colored and tried some other background options for the first card design. I think I have found an ink color and a stencil that may work. Trouble is, it is going to take a long time to cut, stencil and trim 34 pieces. And I did not even look at the needed birthday card. I did get the stamps I was using cleaned and out back in the packages. That is a job I often put off and that is also how I lose tiny stamps. 😎
Tomorrow I plan to clean myself up and wash my towels. Since I have grown my hair out it takes much longer to wash and condition and towel dry it. Then I need detangler as well.
Jackie, glad your laundry eventually did get sort of dry. So sorry about the England rugby team loss. I have had several dogs who had running, chasing dreams. Loved to see their paws pedal and they make such interesting little sounds.
Sandy, what a nice time you had last evening. That is one lucky lady! Does she go with you on your casino trips?
Well, all best to all of our Sneakers.

Happy Sunday! Nice sunny day, should get 71 Tuesday and then 34 on Wednesday. Can you believe that? I am having a do nothing day again as another busy week is coming up. Sitting both Monday and Tuesday, meeting friends for lunch Wednesday, Thursday meeting. Still waiting to see if I was accepted into trial although I am not going to do it, but need to see what the next step is.
Lin, does this mean you have long hair now? Can we see a picture? You put so much effort into your cards, I do hope they are appreciated for all your hard work.
Jackie, oh wait do you mean she is lying down and her legs are running while she sleeps? Stupid me thought you meant she was running around the house while sleeping. lol Oh yes, Daisy did that a lot and it made me laugh. I really miss her.
Anyone hear from Anne? I am starting to worry about her.
Have a good day my friends.

Only 9% battery so I will say hello and return tomorrow after an overnight recharge. That made me laugh Sandy…. A sleepwalking pooch! 🤭

Hi, I tried to make some progress on the stenciling project this afternoon but I only got about a third of the panels finished. My hand doing the ink blending cramped up and I couldn’t hold the brush properly. Ouch!
Tomorrow is another day I guess.
Sandy and Jackie, hello, and thanks for your posts. My hands need some rest. I think I the heating pad is a good option.

Hello, as forecast, a hot sunny day! Amazing! I did Zoom classes this morning and then did some research on rates for CDs and Money Markets. I never know what I want to do when I notice my rent check is arriving today. 👀
Need to put out the trash and try to get my hands to work. Lots of “Happy Easter” sentiments to cut. I am taking another day away from the blending brush. But I am going to have to work really hard at some point or give up on sending cards to a lot of people.
Sandy, hope the day of looking after kids and dogs has gone well.
Jackie, I hope you had an enjoyable day.
Hello everyone else, hate it when people are missing.

Here I am Lin and loving the hearts teapot. I’m guessing 1980’s because I owned a knitted jumper back then with a similar design!
A busy day in spite of Barney again postponing his visit to trim trees, which was a shame because we finally had sunshine. It was very cold in a strong wind so I didn’t drive to the moors with George and Betty but walked locally. We were all pleased to get home! Yesterday we got absolutely soaked on our walk so when we got home I used my hairdryer to blow across both dogs to dry and warm them up!
I’ve done lots of housework, chatted on the phone with friends and spent time on the internet looking for a new electric wall heater. Electrician Josh hasn’t been back in touch but I hope to at least get some ideas to put to him. The heater I’m using at the moment tends to flick off the fuse box switch which then turns off the tv.
When I let the dogs into the garden just now I realised how long it’s been since I saw the moon and stars! Clear skies have been rare for months. The good news is the freezing north easterly wind has died down. I was going to meet Sheila tomorrow morning but she had to postpone because builders doing work on her garden shed didn’t finish the job today as anticipated so have to return. I might be brave and head for the moors with my pooches instead. We will see!
Time for bed.

Happy Tuesday! Another short day of sitting but the weather is going to be beautiful near 75 degrees F. I will be walking to pick up the kids from school today as they took their scooters with dad this morning. It will be a beautiful day for a walk and get some much needed exercise.
Jackie, you amaze me with working with electric, it reminds me of my father who when he did something with electric he would never turn off the electric and got zapped a few times. I hope Barney shows up soon to trim your trees. Won't you just love it when you can walk the moors on warm days with sunshine?
Lin, we are getting your weather today. Good luck on the cards.
Missing a lot of our sneakers, hope all are okay. Have a good day.

I’m in! It was a struggle to join the Sneakers today until I found the right email address registered when using my iPad. It’s been another cold day so I’m jealous of Sandy’s temperatures! At least it was dry and the sunrise was spectacular so I did more laundry before taking George and Betty on to the moors. As we started to walk David and Hattie appeared and he stopped to talk and talk, and talk! Poor Betty was shivering and I came close to freezing to the ground myself and it took a long walk and mug of coffee back home to warm me up again! He is having problems with his iPad and I was trying to explain what he might need to do but I do remember how slow I was when I first bought mine so have offered to drop round if he continues to have a problem. Then, as the saying goes, it will be the blind leading the blind! It was rainy by 4pm so yet again I had to bring my washing in to hang on the airier to dry overnight.
Sandy, I do try to avoid touching anything electrical because I have zapped myself in the past but think I will have to wait for Josh the electrician to find time to visit. At least I have the stove and wood burner so won’t ever be cold. I do hope you hear from Anne that she and Jilly are alright. It’s been a big change in her life so lots to get used to.
Tomorrow I drive back to the optician to collect my new glasses. I may have mentioned last week that one pair for driving will have a reactive coating but I can’t see that being needed for some time! It looks from the forecast we won’t see another sunny day until Sunday, March 10th. 🥺😤
Bedtime!

Hi. The weather has turned back to winter and my teeth are chattering. Crazy cold (below freezing already) with howling winds. It was warmer first thing in the morning when I drove to the post office to mail my signed papers to one of the banks I use in the Northern part of the state. The air was completely smoky which was worse than fog! A brush fire that the fire department cannot extinguish. Still burning I hear, and it started early yesterday afternoon.
I plan to stay indoors tomorrow. Maybe a quick trip down the block for my mail. Just a maybe at this point.
Warm again by Saturday although I doubt I will stay indoors that long.
Jackie, you will see the sun again one of these days. So sorry that you and Betty got chilled. You have some chatty friends. Don’t they suffer from the inclement weather? Yippee, I hope you love your new glasses. I have worn bifocals for a long time. They work just fine for me. I doubt I could switch back to using 2 pairs now.
Sandy, happy sunny day for you. I hope today’s weather doesn’t reach you. Ack! Are you sitting the kids again tomorrow?
Missing the rest of our Sneakers. Are you okay Barbie? Hope all is well with your car. I saw a bit of a news story this morning that said people with electric cars are having problems finding functioning charging ports. Apparently a lot of them break down and the companies aren’t on the spot to get them fixed quickly. But maybe you don’t have to much charging other than when you are home.
Well, I have a Live YouTube program again this evening.
Be safe everyone.

I got this email from Anne this morning.
Hi Sandy, thank you for thinking of me. I have been rather ill with lots of hospital visits. I have to see a heart specialist because the virus I caught last January has damaged my once healthy ticker. I’ll try and get back to all you dear people later today. I think the world of all of you. So much Love back to all of you. xxxxxxx1 -
Good Morning to all. Jake, Bessie, Annie, and I are doing well. Papillon, the electric car is safe in the garage plugged into the charger. We don't drive enough or far to need public charging stations.
Jake finally decided that he won't be playing golf anymore so he gave his clubs to the daughter of a good friend. Her clubs had been stolen and she couldn't afford to buy new ones. She drove two hours to get here on Saturday and yesterday she sent Jake a picture of her playing with her "new" clubs.
We have had sun, rain, snow, hail, and wind. The Pacific Northwest is like the places you live that have no idea what season it is .
We are watching a great show on TV, "Death in Paradise" on PBS Masterpiece about a quirky English detective who is sent to be police chief on an island in the Caribbean.

Happy Wednesday! Sunny but only 20 degrees with a windchill of 10. We had terrible storms yesterday with the tornado sirens going off sending me into the bathroom and then downstairs in the garage hallway. All is fine and today is a new day.
Leaving Rob's yesterday I had a warning light come up on my dash about the electrical break emissions.
I called the dealer and had an appointment at 5:30 but when I got home the warning went away so I cancelled and rescheduled for Friday for them to do a diagnostic test. I am meeting friends for lunch today and needed my car so I hope the warning doesn't pop up again today.
When I walked in the door the doctor from the trial called to see what my concerns were. He explained that I have a 66% chance of getting the gene drug and said it would only be one shot instead of every month or every other month. He said both eyes were eligible but they only accept one, so they would maintain the other eye to keep it from progressing. He also explained the prednisone which I hate is not actually prednisone but a steroid to help the eye from any infections. He also said the 18 month trial would be shorter than the other shots as they would be for the rest of my life. When I told him my concern was that I wanted to drive as long as possible and if something goes wrong with that eye he said in Illinois you can drive with one eye. He had an answer for all my concerns. I think I am going to reconsider and do the trial if nothing else it could help someone else in the future. I told him I would get back to him Friday after talking to my kids. He gave me his cell phone number and said if any of them want to talk to him he would be happy to to talk to one or all of them.
Nice hearing from you Barbie, we missed you.
I am glad Anne sent a return email and let us know what is going on. Hopefully, she can post here if she is up to it. It has been quite a year for her. You are always in our thoughts Anne, praying for a full recovery.

My bedroom curtains were pulled back this morning to show me a gloomy scene of thick fog so I gave myself extra time to drive to the optician because it isn’t the best road, winding through a tree lined valley. First, I walked George and Betty locally and just had time to dry them before leaving. The optician who saw me and checked my new glasses was originally from East Yorkshire, Anne’s county, and we had a friendly time as he explained why he had decided to move to Cornwall. When we got on to the subject of buying logs for a wood burner I gave him the phone number of the farmer I buy from because he lives in a village close to the optician’s home. On the way home I topped up with fuel, checked tyre pressure and bought a few groceries so, as more awful weather is predicted, I can relax at home apart from a daily soaking while walking the pooches.
Sandy, Thanks for letting us know you’ve heard from Anne but worrying news about hospital visits. I do hope she can visit the Sneakers page and fill us in. I did smile and think of her today listening to my optician’s Yorkshire accent!
That must have been scary when the tornado sirens went off. It would be a nightmare for me because they always look erratic so you don’t know if they are likely to change direction and come straight at you! That was very good of the doctor running the trial to phone you and it sounds as if he made some good points but only you know if you feel comfortable joining the trial.
Barbie, Death in Paradise is extremely popular and after a few years had a breakaway series based in my part of the world when one of the detectives decided to return to the UK. Something to look forward to!
A strawberry teapot Lin! I spotted strawberries today when I was shopping but this time of year they are grown in poly tunnels so not much flavour. I bought kiwi fruit instead! Everyone I meet walking on the moor is friendly and as we don’t see each other every day one of us usually has a story to catch up on. David with Hattie and another man with a dog called Oreo I chat to, both live on their own and don’t seem to have friends or family so have lots to say when they do meet anyone. I don’t know Oreo’s dad’s name but he always makes me feel cold this time of year because he wears shorts whatever the weather and never zips up his jacket! I hope you are enjoying your day at home. No smoke to have to deal with!
Take care everyone.

Hi ladies. To put it bluntly I’ve never been so ill in the whole of my life. Actually thought I would soon be residing on the other side of the grass. No, I’m still here. The lovely home I’m now in changed hands soon after I arrived and for a start it’s not the same anymore. We had a Covid outbreak and the woman next door to me breathed on me without a mask as we locked our doors. Two days later she was tested for Corvid. She was Negative, but some other virus. Then I caught it and I tested negative as well. This was way back in January and it’s been downhill ever since.
Briefly, I had trouble breathing and my legs and ankles swelled up like footballs. The family doc gave me antibiotics. Then…... Emergency trip to the hospital, arriving at 11am in an ambulance with three training firemen and two medics. 12 hours later after numerous tests and one of those thingys stuck in my arm to reduce swelling I was given a diuretic pill and sent home at midnight. That’s when my troubles began. Allergic to both the antibiotics and the diuretics my whole body, yes everywhere, swelled up and I was covered in a red itchy rash, very very itchy. I immediately chucked out all medicines. Seven days later I’ve still got it, reduced but still itchy. I made it for the cardio gram and two days ago saw Dr Tam who I immediately liked. He was so thorough and confirmed that the original virus probably caused me to now have a weak heart. So more tests loom in my future plus a cardiologist. However, some good news. The heart can heal itself given time with some scarring. Got that from the internet!
You can imagine the boys and DIL have been very worried with Mary Jo sending me nourishing meals, Mark enduring long hospital visits and Michael and Mary Jo looking after Jilly when I’m missing. I gather my little love has missed me. So what to do about a very allergic to meds mother who can’t risk another bout caught here anyway.
Well my darling eldest Michael lives in a one bedroom apartment which is very spacious. So, he is arranging to have a second bedroom installed in the very spacious lounge, plus the bathroom renovated from old fashioned and inconvenient bath to a shower stall with lots of handles etc for aged parents to hang on to. As he says it will be there when he gets to my age for him. I am so grateful and Jilly Bean and I will do our level best to keep out of his way as much as possible. Well me anyway! The bedroom will be a bed sitter and at the moment Mike is still working. This should happen in April so I’m in isolation until then. You never know what the future holds.
So there you have it lovely friends. Not out of the wood yet, but ever hopeful.
Love and best wishes sent to you all. KEEP OUT OF SENIOR HOMES especially if you are allergic to Sulfa like me. It’s in most medications.
Anne, still not too happy in Ontario. ❤️xxxxxxxxx❤️1 -
Anne sorry to hear about your troubles and inspired by your positive outlook0

Oh Anne, what trials and tribulations my friend. Thanks for writing a lovely long post. We have missed you! Wishing you the best and Jilly as well.
I have nothing much exciting to add. It is very cold here. I spoke with a few different friends today. Did some Zoom exercise classes and then made pieces for the Easter cards. I have enough to get started now.
Thinking of everyone.

A grey and chilly day but I’ve walked across the moor with George and Betty while doing my best to avoid areas of thick, sticky mud, then drove to visit Christine and Richard who live just a quarter of a mile away from the cap park. Their black Labrador Bonnie was at the door to greet me before climbing up the front of my coat. On her hind legs she is nearly as tall as me and I’m 5’9” and she insisted on bringing her empty food bowl to show me! I stayed for coffee and caught up on their news while my two dogs snoozed in my car then came home with a pile of old newspapers to line the hen house and for starter fuel on my fires and a couple of boxes containing empty glass jars to pass on to Linda for her marmalade and chutney making. It is supposed to be dry today but as I unloaded my car heavy drops of rain fell as if to tease me! It didn’t last long and I’m hoping to begin clearing my greenhouse this afternoon so if it does rain, I’ll be dry!
Anne, I can’t tell you how relieved I am that you will be able to move in with Michael in April. You gave it a go and I admired you for that but admire you even more for saying enough is enough! Of course we all have different views on care homes or independent living accommodation but with so many nasty viruses about these days, I’m sure you will be much happier knowing you can be in control of your environment. Now just get yourself fully better. Spring is just around the corner and I’m hoping Michael has a balcony where you can have a couple of tubs to grow your green vegetables. 👩🏻🌾
My day is rushing by so I should get off my chair and do something constructive.
Hello to all Sneakers. Wow to that teapot Lin!
Happy Thursday.
Jackie 🥰0 -
Happy Thursday! Had a nice lunch with my friends yesterday and then drove one friend home so I could visit with her husband who I haven't seen in a while. He is I believe 92 and his wife said he has good days and bad days, yesterday was a good day.
Today is my meeting and one errand so an easy day. I have cancelled my appointment for my car since the warning lights went off and my son said not to pay for the diagnostics test unless it comes back on again. I hope he is right.
Jackie, Bonnie sounds like a character, you made me laugh when she brought her empty food bowl to you. I hope you get your greenhouse cleaned up.
Anne, I agree with Jackie and glad you are moving in with Michael, I think you will be much happier. Do Michael and Mark live near each other, I forget. I think your boys will be happy to know that being with Michael will make them more comfortable knowing you are safe with him. Now just get better and spring is right around the corner.
Lin, cold here as well but should be warming up this week.
Have a good day everyone and positive thoughts for Anne so she can continue to join us here.

It’s Friday and just to keep me on my toes I’m now dealing with hefty hail storms, wet snow and a cold wind. I waited to walk with George and Betty until there was a break and we managed to get to the next door village and back before another hail storm arrived. I don’t seem to be getting much else done because I’m searching online for car insurance. The cost has gone up by nearly 50% so I’m determined to find the best offer. My other online task is to search through Minutes of council meetings because I’m sure, at the meeting I attended, Mr Nasty and the chairman lied when they told me they discussed my friend Rachael’s eviction before she was told she had to leave the allotments. The fight for justice has just started!
Nothing else to report. A gorgeous elephant teapot Lin!
Take care everyone and keep warm.

Happy Friday! Laundry day as usual. Trying to catch up on my computer stuff and of course my games. lol I will be calling the doctor today to tell him I will do the trial and hope I am making the right decision. If nothing else to help someone else in the future.
Jackie, you weather is just downright nasty. We are warming up again and hope it stays this time. It is so frustrating to know that Mr. Nasty has to many connections and poor Rachael had to endure his wrath.
I do hope some how she can win against him.
Lin, I am sure running your farm takes a lot of work and patience. Has it been in your family a long time?
Hope everyone else is doing well, staying healthy and warm. Have a nice day.

Hi, another busy day. Made a trip to the credit union where my CD was renewing. Figured out what I wanted to do which required new paperwork and a signature. Now I need to figure out what I want on my flood insurance renewal. If I send a check it needs to be some kind of certified delivery because they will cancel you flat if your check doesn’t arrive on time. Haven’t seen my homeowner’s policy renewal. I heard a couple of people in this area saying rates really skyrocketed over the past year. Oooh, my head hurts! I need to write checks for my property taxes.
Always stuff to do. The farm is not one that has been in the family for generations. My dad sold property and casualty insurance and then expanded to sell real estate specializing in farms. He and I did farm appraisals together for a few years since I knew more about livestock facilities and grain storage. Anyway, he ran across this farm that everyone had their eye on. When the lady died she had no family so he hoofed down to the bank and got it purchased right away. Then he had the farmstead all cleaned up and built a new house there. It was in the 1990’s I believe.
Happy laundry day Sandy!
Jackie, what nasty weather. Will it ever just calm down? Good for you on researching that issue regarding Rachel’s eviction. No matter what you find, it sounds like a nasty way to handle things.
Anne, hi and hoping you are seeing some improvement in your health. And yes, I am allergic to sulfa drugs. One in a long list of things as it happens.

Just stopped in for a quick update. Rain off and on today, but now the strong winds have reappeared with a huge down pour of rain. It is an off and on thing. However they have told us the rain will be with us until next Thursday again. This has been a horrible year for rain storms, tree loss and atmospheric rains from one end of the state to the other. Southern California seems to be getting the worst part of it. The golf course in our community has lost 17 trees just in last weeks storm. I pray my neighbors huge juniper behind us keeps standing.
Had my phone call this morning with the nurse filling me in on the procedure that I will be having done a week tomorrow. Of course it requires a special diet for 3 days, so I am not looking forward to the prep required. My GI dr is the only one that does this procedure. I am a bit apprehensive, but it needs to get done. My last dr wasn't able to complete the test. I feel comfortable with this dr.
Jackie.....I am beginning to understand why my grandmother left England for sunny California many yrs ago after her brief visit to Canada and then Australia. Not sure I could live with that unsettled and wet weather you have there. SF caught her and my grandfathers eye. She would be so unhappy with what is happening to SF now. Very sad. I have wonderful memories of visits there during the holiday periods. Now there is so much crime, homelessness and businesses leaving the area there. It has been yrs since we have been there. Very sad.
Anne....It was nice to hear from you again. I was very concerned about you. Hoping your sons place will be able to accommodate you in a relatively short time frame. Sad the place you lived in has changed hands. Health issues and meals are a big concern at places like that. Glad you were able to enjoy it a bit. Hope you are starting to feel a bit better. All of this medical testing isn't the most pleasant for sure. I keep on saying these appointments need to stop. Take care....
Sandy....Your granddog (the shepherd) is huge ! I imagine he could be a handful, but thankfully he is getting older so likely more settled. The little one is cute also. Your grandkids are growing up so fast. Glad you have a fun trip to Las Vegas.
Lin....So do you ever work puzzles or read anymore ? All of your card making definitely keeps you busy. Spring should be around the corner, so you should be able to get out a bit more. Thinking of you.
Everyone take care of yourselves and stay warm.
Thinking of you, Diane

Happy Saturday! Going to be a beautiful weekend and then dip down again. Tonight we are going to a mass for Babe's niece's mother and then out to dinner. We meaning Cheryl, Kathy and myself.
I have been really trying to lose this extra weight but it is very slow going. With the trial I will be taking a steroid for 20 days and I am afraid that is going to make me gain more weight. Hopefully I can keep it under control. We will see.
Diane, nice hearing from you and your procedure sounds serious, so wishing you the best. There always seems to be something with our health as we age, no matter how hard we try to stay healthy.
Ewok is actually a mixed Husky but not that huge, he probably weighs about 50 pounds. The little one is a Pomsky, Pomeranian and Husky and just a big fluff ball. lol
Lin, my finance guy has invested most of my money in CD's especially since the interest rate was so high.
I am happy with his choices as of today. So did you live on the farm with your father? Sorry to ask so many questions, so just ignore me if you don't want to answer, I completely understand.
No zoom call today, my son and DIL went to visit their daughter in Virginia and to meet her new boyfriend. Have a great day all.

Happy Saturday. A leisurely start to my morning didn’t do me any favours because it turned out I missed the early sunshine so just as I set off across the moors huge dark clouds arrived. Luckily I had the dogs’ coats in my car so dressed them, as much to keep the hail from hurting Betty who doesn’t have a thick layer like George. He loved the freezing wind and raced off doing zoomies while I looked for shelter under a bare Hawthorn tree! My fingers were frozen and painful so this afternoon I bought some new thermal gloves and a rather expensive knitted beanie hat online. No doubt summer will now arrive next week! I’ve made a thick bean casserole in my slow cooker for an evening meal and generally pottered about while George and Betty snoozed.
Sandy, I have already found conflicting information online to what Mr Nasty has said but Rachael has gone very quiet so Linda and I worry she won’t feel strong enough mentally to take the matter further. The police are taking a long time so hopefully looking into the dreadful man’s past because I can’t imagine it’s the first time he’s been violent towards a woman.
You never look overweight to me and if you don’t have to be on steroids long, they might not affect you.
Diane, I’m wondering if the snow that’s arrived in California is anywhere near you? It looks like a crazy storm. Our weather has only recently begun to be unpredictable and we are told warming oceans are sending more rain in our direction so sometimes I do think I might move south to Spain or Portugal. When I was young, with itchy feet I thought Canada looked amazing and it was, but when I last visited about 20 years ago I was sad to see the changes in Toronto so can understand why you feel that way about San Francisco. I was there in 1972 during the road trip I took across the States with a friend and we loved everything about that city and State. Progress isn’t always good is it!
I’m sorry you are facing a medical procedure too, especially with a special diet thrown in. Hopefully you can comfortably put yourself into this doctor’s hands as you trust him and look forward to getting it over with and being back home.
I adore the latest pretty teapot Lin. It seems insurances are going up everywhere without much reason and now we are being told that our energy companies are owed billions of pounds from people who were unable to pay their increased tariffs. They still managed to make massive profits but are telling those of us that did manage to pay our bills, we will have to make up the shortfall. It makes a lot of us wonder why we bothered if that’s their answer. Anarchy is just round the corner!
The fire is lit and my pets are stirring so it must be time for food.
Take care everyone, including missing friends.
Jackie 🥰
