I was hoping everybody would forget today is the day JACKIE. I was going to remain masked and mum until later this afternoon. Actually I'm much luckier than PATSY and John and most people because although quite a distance to travel it is an appointment time so I presume no line ups in other words. I think I'm the last of the first time shots now in our group? And the most complaining! The second shots are to be put back three - four months to allow all who want it a chance of the first shot.
Supplies must be getting low? I tend to agree with your Canada London friend and her views on the government but the opposition are equally bad! What's new. I see Boris was in the wars with his words on greed!
The tee shirt would have been something so thank you for the thought! Lol.

Anyway it's a lovely sunny day for a car ride although my spoilt little Bean won't be happy left at home. Just like Katie she goes everywhere with me. If I wasn't so old I'd get a companion for her. I'm sure she will have a sore throat when I return.

Such bad news for you concerning your daughter Patsy. The virus does seem to linger for ages after one is 'cured'.
Well, time to do something! I'm wearing a short sleeved summer top and despite the "heatwave" feel decidedly chilly. Will wear my thick winter jacket over the top later, brrrrrrrrr.
    Anne.

    Have a wonderful day!

Of course you realise every image of a Barbie birthday card shows the doll that's married to Ken so I know it's not you!! :D

Hello dear ones! The sun is shining...in between the rain showers. But it is still very chilly, there is something in the air that says it is spring. She is such a flirt, that lovely season we all urge to welcome!

First I must say Happy birthday Barbie. You are that unflappably dancing lady we all admire. I wish I could put out a lovely birthday card for you. My old computer and ancient ipad are cranky and does not cooperate with graphics. You are forever positive and show us constantly how to count our blessings and live a happy contented life. You offer us great life lessons. I hope your birthday is as wonderful as you are. We are blessed that you are part of the sneakers. Dance on!

Anne: oh my dear friend! I suspect that this little adventure today will be interesting. Probably uneventful...but after, you will feel the anxiety level diminish greatly. We all say we are not too worried about it. We are all careful, we all wear our masks and try to keep our distance, the shots help us take a deep breath and have high hopes for that new normal. Jilly will find a way to keep a vigil until her friend/mama/playmate will return. Katy can see out of the deck doors, upon the rare occasion she must stay home she looks out the window on the doors. I know she does. There is doggie slobber all over the glass. Jilly will find a way to keep watch as well.

Exercises, fold a load of laundry, quick sweep and mop the kitchen floor, two phone calls, one to check on our daughter and the wife of our friend. Dinner is a big tossed salad and Avocado toast.

Happy Thursday! :) Meeting day and then a pick up from Walmart. I ordered some high heat paint used for grills to paint my warming plate on my coffee maker. Wish me luck so the whole kitchen isn't painted black. lol
Cold and storms predicted tonight, the only thing I don't like about Spring.

I agree with Patsy, there is something comforting in knowing we have our vaccines bringing us closer to a normal life once again. I have a friend who is in her 40's who had Covid months ago and she is still suffering with after effects, especially with her lungs. She got vaccinated yesterday so she is hoping that will help get rid of some of the symptoms. Good luck to your daughter.

Annsie, good luck with the shot, praying no side effects for you and you can rest easy again.

Jackie, cute shirt. I hope the sun stays out for you and the hens will appreciate a clean home.
I took your advice and googles and will try to paint the warming plate. I kept my old coffee maker just in case I mess it up. lol

Lin, you seem to be so busy lately, take some time for yourself.

Time to hit the showers and get ready for meeting. Have a good safe day.

All done and dusted here. No after effects so far and I got the Pfizer vaccine. Lovely nurse, Alice. I hardly felt a thing. One thing amazed me. I have never seen so many over 80s in wheelchairs, pushing walkers, and leaning on their walking sticks or care givers. I am truly blessed still walking on my own two pins.

Jill and I went for a walk once I got back home. Boy was she one happy pup to see mom again. It's nice having a little furry love you.

Now I've got to go and put my proof of shot somewhere safe. Second doses not to be given out until mid July, I asked if I could donate my shot to Mark but they wouldn't let me. I feel his age group needs it more than my generation.

Yea! Hooray! Anne got shot! How wonderful. Now all of us sneakers are shot. Some twice but we all are safer and closer to that normal we all want to see. Well done, dear Anne. With the extraordinary problems in the past with blood clotting, doing this required no small amount of courage and determination. Jilly’s mom will be making her special lamb chops and Mike will continue to take her on her long walks. Splendid!

Thanks PATSY. Still no reaction after 3.5 hours. I wasn't worried about the actual poke and in truth she was such a nice, warm registered nurse no one was more surprised than me when she said "all done". I've just been peering at my arm and can't see the entry point. Did I REALLY get the shot? Well I've got my certificate and a sticker which reads "I've had my shot" so I guess I did.

Welcome home Anne, that took oodles of courage so Bravo! I’m glad you received the Pfizer jab as well which must have been a relief when you were told. Wonderful; now you can relax!
Brave Jilly too coping with being left on her own but I bet you both thoroughly enjoyed your walk together.... a touch of normalcy in a crazy world!
Have a cosy snuggle together this evening. 😘

Uhoooooooh! I just got an invitation for a MFP friend and the picture looks very suspiciously like pornography or something similar. I, of course, rejected the invitation but wanted to warn everyone that there might be a calculated effort to sign up people. I am not very savvy about things like this, maybe my first impression was wrong but I don’t think so. Just warning.....

:) Thank you all for the warm birthday greetings.

:) My day was perfect. It began with a card from Jake and the pets and kept getting better. I got to do all the things I like to do which are the same things I do every day. I had a quick visit in the driveway with my friends whose mail I forward to California. They were here for a few days but had a crisis at their house and couldn't come for a visit; They stopped on their way back to California to deliver homemade chocolate cupcakes (I gave them to Jake) and a Costco gift card. I am truly a fortunate person.

:) In my county they have now made the Moderna vaccine available to anyone ages 18+.

:) We don't plan to do anything different even though we are three weeks past the second jab. The only thing I'd like to be back to "normal" is petting dogs. Sasha is so sad when we see people on our walks and they can't pet her.

:)Anne, congrats on getting your vaccine.

:)Jackie, for many years my closest teaching associate was named Ken and many people on staff called us "Ken and Barbie".
