Happy Thursday!! :) Another rainy day, what's new? Hopefully it will clear up for the parade for the Blackhawks.
I am going to my meeting so really hope it doesn't storm while I am driving. I hope tomorrow is a beautiful day so Robby and Lisa can come to the pool. I bought him a cute little floater thing that he can sit in and float around.
Bryanna hasn't been over so I am sure she is still very upset with me. Funny how she did something wrong and I feel guilty. Glad I have my meeting today to talk about it. Weather is just so depressing.

Patsy, I give you credit for just attempting the yoga. I have yoga on my Wii and have to use a chair to balance for certain poses. I prefer my bike or walking but know that yoga is wonderful for balance.

Phoebe, I hope you are feeling better today, the heat can be dangerous so take it easy.

Jeri, you photo is just beautiful. Glad you had a wonderful time filled with wonderful memories.

Anne, Bryanna doesn't know I know she is smoking and I have never smelled smoke on her. I am angry with her for abusing my credit card I let her use for gas so I froze it so she can't use it. That is a big step for me since I am an enabler.

Lin, it is hard to have hurt feelings with those you love, but as you say I hope things will improve. It doesn't sound like your buyers want to back out, so hopefully you will get good news soon.

Marie, hope things are well with you.

Time for breakfast, have a good day.

    Sandy

SANDY, well done, regarding the credit card. You've enabled her to see one doesn't abuse kindness. Anne.

    Hello friends--

I got home last evening and was just so sore. I worked like a dog yesterday (actually harder than many dogs I've known). I took apart beds, stereo systems, desks, helped to move furniture etc. If I hadn’t have pitched in we would not have gotten everything out of the house by the end of the day. We’d get a load ready for their trailer and they’d take off to unload it in their storage facility and while they were gone I’d be busy disassembling something else. Only one accident and I could see it coming but it happened anyway. I was taking apart my dad's L-shaped desk and it is very heavy. I knew when I loosened the second bolt that the section over my head and body would drop. Well it did and I wasn’t strong enough to stop it so I did take a whack in the ribs and perhaps pulled a few chest muscles. It hurt. But lots of things hurt, the company was 45 minutes late and I was so antsy and was on the edge of tears. I walked outside and tried to call 3 different friends and no one was available. You are lucky I didn't have your cell phone numbers because I would have called! Anyway, everything else I’d hoped to do had to be cancelled due to the late hour so I’ll have to see what I can do next week. The lady who cuts my hair will be out of town so I won’t get a haircut next week. Maybe I can get to the research project.

Today has been another eventful day. When the furniture came out of the house, I found unknown carpet stains and the carpet is dreadfully compacted in the places were the furniture has sat for years. I’ve talked it over with my broker and he went out to take a look and to remove the lock box for now so no one can enter without calling him. He told me the compaction is often worse with expensive carpet since it’s so dense but over time it will get better. I’ve been calling carpet companies and we’re going to try to get the stains removed (which is sort of difficult as I have no idea what they are), if the stains remain, he says the buyers have found their way to back out of the transaction. They get a final walk-through and anything that was not revealed before due to furniture placement or throw rugs etc. is cause for them to say they won’t accept the property. We’re also working on a couple of other smaller issues that would likely not be acceptable. On the plus side, once that’s all done, if they don’t take it, we’ll be ready for new lookers and hopefully buyers who can look at everything! Although the place could use painting.........

I’ve been moving a bit slower today but I did run a few errands. I actually need to do something about the carpet in my family room and my friend recommended hardwood flooring. I looked at oak flooring but it would need to butt up against the vinyl in my kitchen and since there’s no wall, it’s not straight across but they built-in a sort of S-shaped which is lovely looking but the guy said it would be VERY expensive to get everything cut and fit. Also there would be a huge height problem between the vinyl and the ¾” hardwood. So I learned some things today and solved nothing.

In among my errands I do have some cleaner to try to tackle the newly uncovered rust stains in the basement of my dad's house and my real estate broker says he’ll tackle the other two little things we found. He takes care of several apartment buildings and knows how to do most things!

It’s also Farmer’s Market evening and I’ll be heading out soon. We sort of have some sun/some clouds so I guess I’ll take my rain jacket again. Yipes!

Patsy - Yoga, I’ve tried and tried but I cannot do much without props AND I have to leave my shoes on as my feet are just too bad to go without them. If your friend really wants a facelift, I hope it turns out well and she likes the result regardless of how things work out with this younger guy.

Sandy – Bryanna may not be speaking to you because she actually knows she was in the wrong but got called on it. Good for you in standing up for yourself. I’ve done some not-too-terrific things in the past and having someone know about it made me want to avoid that person. It is so humiliating.

Welcome home Jeri. Your vacation sounds so lovely and many of you have fond memories of other places you’ve lived. I’ve only lived in this state! A few different places in this state but still…………

Phoebe – I hope you’re feeling better today. Have you been working outdoors in the heat? I hope your cooling system is working well.

Marie – hello? How are you today? Is it Walmart day? I was there this afternoon. Oh my gosh, when you’re looking for something in that huge store and don’t really know for certain where it is, it takes a while to check the likely locations!

Anne – heigh-ho, heigh-ho, how does your garden grow? Are you getting sunshine?

Jackie – good day to you and George.

I’m sure I’ve missed a number of posts but it’s time to pack myself up and go to the market. Yogurt is in the incubator and my laundry is finished for today. I have an old printer and some ink cartridges to box up to take to Good will OR I can box it and wait for DAV. I have a chair for them and need to make a call for a pick-up. Talk to you again soon.

Hello everybody. I feel I should let you folks know that I had a very convincing man on the phone today claiming to be from Revenue Canada and telling me I had defrauded the government on my past 4 tax returns to the tune of thousands all told. Of course, I have done no such thing and I put the phone down. It immediately rang again, and he warned me he would send the police around to my place if I cut him off again. I said "go ahead, send them round" and I put the phone down again. 3 hours later no police have shown up but I have phoned the police myself and was told it's the latest scam.
Just letting you folks know. He had an educated East Indian accent and was very official and intimidating. I can't imagine how much he would frighten a timid older person. I felt pretty nervous myself, and I don't scare easily.
I've had 3 calls this week about the virus scam. Sometimes I wonder if it's a good thing being on the Internet. Sad world!

Hi poor hard working LIN. In answer to your question to me: quote:

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, how does your garden grow?
With Canterbury bells, and snails in shells,
And LOTS of WEEDS all in a row.

Sunshine today if that's what that yellow blob in the sky is, but rain promised this evening.
    Anne.

On my way to bed after a very busy day but wanted to let you all know you're not forgotten, it's just this time of year when life gets hectic! My arms are covered in a rash from stinging nettles because it was so warm I did some gardening in a short sleeved top.... silly me to be pulling up the bloomin' things with bare arms!! Walked George for the 2nd time this evening around 10pm under beautiful pink and mauve skies which should be a sign of another lovely day tomorrow when I'll be walking with the little fella again before dropping him off with a friend and then going to the city of Plymouth to visit my ex boss from many years ago.... should be fun!

Lots to respond to you all but my back is aching and I MUST get into my bed.

    Jackie

PS My Avast anti virus just warned me something nasty was stopped from getting into my system, this when I logged on to MFP so everyone be careful and perhaps run a check if one hasn't been done recently. ANNE's right, sometimes this internet thing is more trouble than it's worth! Well done Anne for telling that scammer to go away.... I tell every unsolicited caller to do just that these days because the way I look at it, my phone is for my use not theirs, after all I pay the bill!!

    Hello All,

I had such a great day today. It was my annual check up with my liver specialist. (I have an auto immune liver disease - thanks Dad LOL). It was great - I am still in remission. Hurray, hurray.

We went out for supper to celebrate. Had a great supper and feel wonderful.

I was also able to go on a nice walk to look at the wild flowers.

Lin - you poor thing. Big, big hugs.

Sandy - good for you. You did the right thing. And thanks it was a great vacation.

Anne - darn scammers. You did the right thing too.

Here's a photo from Yellowstone. Have a wonderful day tomorrow. Jeri

Gotta be real short, just letting you know the backup from my System Restore (wiped out every last thing and had to get the Windows 7 disc to reprogram laptop, then sat up waiting for 186 Windows Updates to install so got to bed 6:22 this morning. Mike had an 8 AM Appointment at the VA, so I never slept! Oh, the backup is now restoring most files and folders and will take at least 2 days! My cursor is jumping all over the text, so this is impossible...and all from a phone scam purporting to be from Dell, and they even had my ticket numbers correct! No computer for a week now and ( Cursor jumped) nothing works. Once restoring, I got over 107 thousand emails downloaded from deleted files etc! What a mess. Enough, since it's somewhat temporary, I hope. Must get some sleep now! Love you all!
<3 Buzz - (Thanks for asking, those who did)

Hopefully you are doing great, but for those who haven't checked in, plz take care.
Another take it easy day. I did no outside work. Going into the garage to use
The shop vac was enough heat for me!
Lin, even with your injury, you still keep moving, you are amazing! Too bad if they back out. Our local farmers market was today but I didn't go. It was pie eating contest too, lol. Good reason to stay away.
Physical therapy tomorrow morning and home to laundry. Also recovering the sunvisors in Jim's pick up truck, sewing to do.
Sandy, it's hard to Not feel guilt when you act in a manner that you don't like and haven't been used to. I agree, you did what needed to be done. Hope your meeting helped.
Marie I've seen that there is more bad weather near you. Hope you don't have a power outage.
    Night all

Morning everyone. Grocery shopping etc day so pretty busy but just wanted to say I love your second photo JERI. Love the lines and shadows. I can imagine PATSY painting that. I was getting worried too BUZZ and although a darn nuisance thank goodness it's only a piece of machinery causing your silence. The scammers I had were extremely believable. I felt quite panicky at the start of the conversation and as it dawned on me that it couldn't possibly be correct (Revenue Canada never phone for a start, they mail I gather) I hung up. He then phoned again and accused me of hanging up on a government employee and got very abusive when I said I didn't believe him, said it was a serious offence and if I hung up on him again or talked "over" him he would send the police to my home. That's when I said, "do just that" and hung up again. He got no info from me, so friends, if any of you get a similar phone call, give them nothing in the way of your personal stuff. When I rang our police the young woman said mine was the 4th complaint call they'd had from our area.
Have a lovely and peaceful day all you Sneakers with no bullying males on the phone shattering it.
    Anne.

Happy Friday!! :) Sun is shining and so far it looks like a great weekend weather wise. I have no plans except for the pool and depending on how warm it gets Robby and Lisa should be joining me.
Those scammers are just to infuriating, mostly seeking out seniors. I agree modern technology is wonderful but causes so many problems. Not sure how I would keep in touch with my out of state children if it weren't for the internet, they might actually have to pick up a phone and call me.

Phoebe, yes, my meeting helped, it always does. My sponsor is proud of me for doing what I did and even though it is hard for me, I know I also did the right thing. Bryanna sent me a text last night and said card is cancelled right? I texted back saying yes until we talk. She said she was in a gas emergency so I told her to ask her mother. She said no it is fine her friend helped her. Then I got an email from Discover that a purchase for gas was declined due to card being frozen. I texted her and told her you tried to buy gas even though I told you account was frozen, did you not believe me? Her reply was that she was going to try but then remembered it was frozen. She only proved to me that I was right because once again she did not ask me before trying to use the card. Kids!!!!

Buzz, I am sorry you are having all these problems with your computer, I hope you get it back working with no virus. Maybe take it to Best Buy and let them just clear the whole hard drive unless you know how to do that yourself. How are you and Mike doing otherwise? Are you making plans for your birthday on the 24th.?

Jeri, another beautiful picture, you have a talent for capturing your shots just perfect.

Anne, glad you were able to realize that was a scam and did not give out any information. I love caller ID for that reason, if I don't know who it is I don't answer.

Jackie, my son is a Computer Troubleshooter (runs his own business) and I have Malwarebytes for spyware and EsetNod 32 Antivirus running all the time, so hopefully it catches all that nasty stuff.

Lin, I think you are right about Bryanna being embarrassed so she is avoiding me. She knows now that I will not unfreeze the card until we talk, so it is up to her when she decides she wants to talk. I wish we did live closer, I would be more than happy to help you with the house. Once this is all done and over with, I wish you would take a vacation somewhere and just pamper yourself, you so deserve it.

I did not sleep well again last night, my mind is just going full speed lately. I am glad I have nothing pressing today and if I can go to the pool to clear my head that would be great.

    Have a wonderful day.

Hello friends – it’s sunny here today. I’ll take it although I’ve not really been outdoors much—just popping in and out. I’ve been sweeping out my basement and moving things around so the guy will be able to move the dryer on Monday to clean out the vent. They are doing that along with the air duct cleaning. This weekend I’m going to move things in the house a bit so they can more easily get to the vents without breaking/damaging anything (I hope). Sort of having a bit of a problem with this though since I can’t seem to reach using my right arm as something is pulling.

Lots of phone calls today. Yes of course it has to do with the acreage sale. I thought we were started on preparing the deed until I asked for the exact names/spellings they want used on the deed and suddenly they’ve disappeared again. Their broker had said to just use the names on the offer and they would take possession as joint tenants. I said, sorry, but we can’t read your handwriting and now who knows when he will have an answer. Also inquired about the title opinion and the broker said it’s usually not ready until a week before the closing and then he said, oh, we are about a week from the proposed date for the closing. So again he called the attorney, no answers. He just came back to us with another question about who’s mowing the grass out there now.

I contacted that person and asked if it was okay to give out his name and phone number and if he’d consider mowing for them. He said he’d talk to them but would make no promises to accept the job since he’s not certain he wants to deal with them. It’s supposedly just an interim deal until they get moved out there so they may have remodeling or construction in mind. Who knows? I don't really care.

And I’ve finally hired a carpet cleaning service and have the work scheduled. I’ll meet them next Wednesday and while they work on the carpet I'll work on the rust spots in the basement that were uncovered this week. The radon guy is coming on Tuesday and the broker will let him in. The broker is going to do the work on the door threshold and he’s looking at a seam in the vinyl that is coming loose. It was there all the time but he’s afraid anything these people see on their *final* walk—through could trip them out again. He’s also scheduled a person to come out and do the radon re-test rather than doing the free test kit that’s included in the price I'm paying for the remediation. Yes, I’m paying for that too but it will keep us to a tighter date on the closing. The utilities will not transfer to the buyer until the *buyer* calls them and accepts responsibility for the bill. They will not shut them off and require 48 hour notice for a transfer. So I get to rely on the buyers to do this. I still have to call the propane company about doing a final reading/pricing on the remaining gas in the tank. At this point if there’s not a lot of gas in the tank, I’m willing to just forget about it to get these people to close the sale but I’ll try. I paid *lots* more than the current price so I’m losing on the deal anyway.

And this is all if we get past any title issues. If they walk away, I guess the only extra money that I would not have spent is the extra radon re-test and all the legal hours with my attorney. Pretty much everything else would apply to any property transfer.

Now that I’ve bored you to tears……I tried again to get an appointment for a haircut next week but it didn’t work out. I’ll just have to call again when I know when I’ll be returning to the area. I just read there’s a lily show at Reiman Gardens a week from Saturday. That sounds lovely but I don’t know if I want to drive to Ames—driving is not my favorite activity right now. I’ll think about it a bit as the gorgeous flowers would be worth it. I think that’s also the weekend that we have two Art Shows in our city. One outdoor show in the downtown area and the other in the air conditioned comfort of a very large building at our State Fairgrounds. I tend to go to the air conditioned show for a number of reasons including more free parking, climate control, an artist I like is usually out there AND I cannot afford the prices of the lovely works downtown.

Sandy – are you enjoying the pool today?? Did dear Robby and Lisa join you? They are promising us more rain in the next few days ---really?! I’m glad you were able to attend your meeting and that it helped clear up the issue for you. People all process things on their own timetables. I hope she realizes she was wrong and is willing to make up with you. I was also a crappy teenager and young adult. I hope she has more sense than I did! Once this sale is out of the way and whenever the estate is finally closed, I will definitely think about things I could do out there in the world on my own. Right now what continues to appeal to me is *re-feathering* my own nest! It’s where I spend most of my time so I crave both good function and comfort around my home and I do not care to travel alone.

Anne – is grocery shopping out of the way now? I just started to make a list and will do mine tomorrow morning I think. I sit the list over on the counter and each time I think of something I jump up and add the item to the list. Nothing like adding a bit of exercise to every activity. Ha!! I loved your response to my question. I smiled and giggled. Lovely. It seems all of us are being targeted by scammers one way or the other these days. I have caller ID but some of the places that call me seem to have a way that either my caller ID does not register anything not even Unknown, or caller ID looks like it’s spinning its wheels to figure out who the heck it is. Other times, I just answer before I look. Ooops, better not do that!

Phoebe – our Farmer’s Market had added attractions this week that I didn’t know about in advance. But since I was too old for the bounce houses, hadn’t brought along anything for the free shredding drive-through service and wasn’t interested in the kiddie games, I just looked and did buy some really small organic cherry tomatoes from the only other vendor there who sells organic produce and picked up my weekly box. Now I’m glad they don’t have things like pie eating contests (although watching that would be entertaining)! There were a couple of good groups of live musicians though. They seem to have a group almost every block this summer. By the way, I hope the physical therapy and the laundry worked out to be OK and that your knee is feeling better.

Buzz – you are amazing. I wouldn’t have the wherewithal to start on the process of straightening out my laptop! I’d take my computer to a technician or something. I’d be lost and frustrated. I hope it is going well for you. We miss you when you’re not here. Hugs.

Jeri – YIPPEEEEEEE---good news from the doctor. That is wonderful and I am smiling with you and for you. Love the photo from Yellowstone. I don’t know why but my first thought when I looked at it was---wow---that looks a bit like my toothpaste. Yes, I have a clay based toothpaste right now and I think the color reminded me of it. I think it’s time to change to a different product. Ha.

Jackie – argh!! Stinging nettles. Ouch. Time for long-sleeved shirts and sturdy gloves. I hope that doesn’t happen again. Get some rest and hope we’ll hear from you another time. As one old saying goes---you’ve got to make hay when the sun shines. You have a lot of work to do.

Marie – hello! Glad you’re hooked up again. I just had some beans with chopped red onion, a bit of leftover brown rice, some spices and some of a special ketchup I buy (no salt, no oil, no sugar and GF). Sure is tasty. Love beans! I don’t make any recipes with quinoa. I just cook it, cool it in the refrigerator, put some in a bowl with some berries and add a bit of almond milk. It’s like dessert to me. It’s what I have more often than oatmeal.

    Take care my friends.

Gettig ready for a small Father's Day celebration. Our son is coming from Portland and I will fix the dinner. The restaurants will be full so I am in charge of the food. I am always in a quandary on holidays. I would like to include our daughter and family but the family issues are too objectionable for my husband. I hope our daughter will drop by a card for her dad and leave her family at home. Isn't this just too sad? Life is too short to carry around these burdens. Oh well, until I can figure out how to manage a major peace-making miracle we remain a divided family.
Menu: salmon with Citrus and dill, oven roasted Rosemary potatoes, tossed mixed greens salad, broccoli and coffee with chocolate mouse cake. Not what you would call low calorie. But it is John's favorite stuff except for the broccoli. My plan is that if my daughter drops by or calls, I can offer dessert. Okay folks, this is a hard nut to crack. I want to find a way to bring John and our daughter back into communication. John really dislikes our daughter's husband and feels that he is not being responsible. Enough on that sad tale!

I hope this Father's Day you all will remember your dad and the special times you had together. I lived in a time that dads were not expected to be outwardly affectionate. I danced with my dad and sang cowboy songs. He was a sweet Texas cowboy/oilman. He taught me a very secret bbq sauce recipe. I was sworn to secrecy when I I learned to make it.
Maybe It would work on my salmon this Sunday......?

Good morning everybody. Just a brief pop in to say hello. You know PATSY, I decided long ago (and I know you have) that if I didn't want to lose my sons in my life I would have to accept their choice of partners. It's worked out pretty well and I learnt as well from people of completely different backgrounds to my own, and bringing different ideas into my life. I'd leave well alone, it is what it is. You can't change either your daughter or John. Just sit back and by doing nothing everything will get done - in time. Mmm, the food sounds delicious! I wouldn't be able to resist!

SANDY, why do you have to unfreeze the credit card? In the past I only gave out CASH if gas was needed by a hard up son or grandson, AND, they did a little something for me in return to earn it. Mowed the lawn etc.
    Just a thought.

Meanwhile, back at the Anne camp, son no. 1 took me out to lunch yesterday, no mishaps, but not to the disaster zone restaurant! Wonder why? Then he took off up north with puppy and wife for a long weekend in a cabin. Actually I could have gone too, but Tabitha is so long in the tooth she has to be fed small regular meals, can't digest dry food, and seeing her and Cinders don't hit it off, would have to be left at home. I will see son no. 2 on Father's Day before he and family take off for a European river cruise. I shall spend this alone time doing some exciting weeding I expect! Mind you, I'm no great traveller so I'll be quite happy communicating with nature. By the way I get treated on both Mother's Day AND Father's Day, sometimes you CAN win it all!

Oh and I dug out my old answering machine. That means I can listen in if any oriental gentlemen claiming to be government representatives decide to bring excitement to my otherwise quiet life.

    Anne, weeds here I come!

Hello everyone, a spot of rain has brought me in although I do have pepper plants to re-pot in the greenhouse. George's groomer was admiring the Welsh poppies dotted around the area so I've been collecting seeds for her to toss in her garden, put them somewhere safe and saw the laptop so here I am!! George had an enjoyable time yesterday afternoon with my friend and her puppy as she's purchased a kiddies paddling pool and he spent an hour digging out pebbles she threw in for him.... easily pleased!!

Lin ~This radon business raised its head in my part of the UK many years ago after no one having ever heard of it, but because most of Cornwall is granite it apparently seeps up through the ground into the majority of properties. Several tests have been made at my cottage when I've been told there's a high level but never whether that's too high, not too high, average high or send me to heaven high so I ignore it!! A work colleague had a high reading at his home not too far from me and was told it was because they had an open well in the kitchen so he asked what could be done to lower it and the advice was "open a few windows"!!! IF you can, before your test open every door and window for as long as possible to get the air in and radon out.

Sandy ~ If you feel up to it you must let Bryanna know the pain she's inflicted so there's no misunderstanding on her part as to what her actions have done to you. Accepting you are an enabler shows strength of character before you ever get started discussing the credit card issue with her so a big hug from me on that score but I agree she needs to make contact to apologise because she appears to be taking the proverbial. Has she got herself mixed up with a group who are a bad influence because this, the tattoo and smoking seem to have come from nowhere? Body image embellishments are her choice and something she'll have to confront when she properly grows up but stealing from you is more than pushing the boundaries and a matter she needs to confront now.

Jeri ~ Great news about your check up and a stunning photo.... just beautiful and so different!

Marie ~You reminded me of times when I had wires running everywhere behind my desktop computer and any time it got moved I spent what felt like hours on hands and knees trying to unravel and put back in the right place!

Patsy ~ That menu is yummy and if a plane ride wasn't required I'd be knocking on your door pretending I just happened to be passing!! As for your hubby's broken relationship with your daughter I can't offer much in the way of advice. My older brother and dad had a total breakdown of communication 50 years ago and although there were times I wanted to knock their heads together they were both too stubborn to make the first move and then one day it was too late and my brother who always insisted he wanted nothing to do with dad struggled with a eulogy at his funeral due to tears of what I could only take to be regret. Men are too stubborn for their own good at times!! There you are, let John read this little post! On a different note, I'm trying to research my dad's 2 half sisters who walked away from my grandfather when he remarried within a year of grandmother's funeral and because during that time dad was off fighting in WWII he'd lost touch by the time he came home. That's all I knew, not even names, so one death certificate of gran's is giving me a tiny scrap of information to work on and oh how I wish I'd had the conversation with dad but this is in his memory and hopefully I'll discover some cousins out there.... not quite secret bbq sauce but who knows!!

Anne ~ My cats, like your Tabitha, are a bit long in the tooth so I don't know what I'd do if the neighbours didn't pop in to feed them and offer TLC when I go away, probably never go!! Had an email from my brother this week advising flight information for his up and coming holiday just in case something happens, then asked what holidays I had planned so I've told him life is one big holiday for me since retiring so I don't feel the need!! Can't beat home comforts! Had a lovely visit with my old boss who talked non-stop about working together and all the different companies including Rank! Apparently the British Film Institute asked him to record his life in the industry on to a one hour tape but it only took him up to the age of 20 so there are now apparently another 10 he wants me to listen to!! I've told him I won't have time to type it all out but no, just listen he's asking at the moment so I'll pop back to Plymouth soon to help. It's a sad old world when we have to assume phone callers are out to scam us but I'm now suspicious of most. Perhaps you should have told your caller you quite fancied a visit from a handsome RCNP officer so please do!!

The rain has stopped so I'll go back to potting up peppers. Have a great weekend whatever you get up to.

    Jackie

JACKIE I had to reply. I was very naughty, I said to my oriental caller "send the police over, but can you make sure they speak English as I can hardly understand yours". Mind you I'm surprised he understood mine! Talk about fighting grannies, a whole new breed of us are emerging in this tough modern world. Goodbye Miss Marples.
Another point SANDY how come your grand daughter can afford cigarettes and tattoos but not gas? Cut that card up my dear.

Happy Saturday!! :) Waiting for the sun to shine but so far that is not happening. Lisa wants to bring Robby to the pool but without the sun I am afraid it will be too chilly for him. Lisa mentioned it will be out later but I am going to Mass with Babe and out to dinner so I need early afternoon sunshine.

Thanks for the advice on Bryanna, I did not mean to make it sound like she was stealing from me. Because she is in school and has to take care of her little sister her employment had to work around those hours. Now that school is out: her after school daycare job is finished for the summer. She is in the process of finding a new job. I gave her a credit card for gas to be helpful and all was fine until she started asking if she could buy food here and there.
That is when I told her the card was for gas only. According to her she forgot her ATM card so used the credit card at the movie. Since she broke our agreement I froze the card. I am not relenting until she comes over and we have a talk. We have always been very close and her childhood wasn't the best, her mother is not a good example and I have always tried to be here for her. So yes, I am hurt and feeling lonely but in my heart I know she is a good girl.
I don't think she is with the wrong crowd, I think it is an age factor looking for independence. She did text me yesterday asking for her social security number so she must have been filling out applications. The big test is coming tomorrow for Father's Day. We will see if she remembers her Father and goes to see him, if not there will be lots of hurt feelings, including my own.
I will get off my pity pot now and just let this go, my serenity is more important and I can't control anyone.

    Thanks
    Sandy

Great to hear from All of you!
I am so glad I took your advice on Not cutting the rose yet. There is one little bud right at the top! That is the part I would have cut.
Marie, chopped salad sounds good to me! Think I'll have it now. It's fish for dinner, Jim's pick.
I usually cook quinoa plain and serve as pasta.
This week I prepared a box of parmesan cous cous, added steamed broccoli slaw and vegetable meatballs, yum. That was my lunch daily until all gone.
The physical therapy is going much better now, thanks to the therapist who is tougher and has given me more exercises to do. Funny, when I finish a set, she says, 'Do you want More?'. Lol, I say yes. I asked for her next week, but she only works one day there, so I'll make the most of it. I just finished all of them except for the bike. I'll do that after lunch.
We have everyone's sunny dry weather. And Hot!! I wouldn't mind a slight tan before returning to work. Jim said they want to know when I am coming back to work. I intend to get the physical therapy thru next week.
    Have a week end!
