Oh dear, so sorry about PHOEBE and PHYLLIS and the explosive problems! I started to include Metamucil again last week to help with an old long disappeared problem (painful hemorrhoids) and yesterday it may have been the cause of constantly needing a "john" close at hand! Must have overdone it! Anyway, they both have my complete sympathy! And wishes for feeling better, both of you!
ANNE, Windows 10 has slightly different formats in print and other areas, but as I become familiar with it, it really has so much for us to get acquainted with! I seem to have overcome many of the original problems I found, since there are answers I never dreamed of, and it has the best of both Apple and Windows, and I can choose either Internet Explorer OR Edge, depending on password needs, since Edge (new browser in 10) does not permit plug-ins for security reasons. No Google bars or any other additions, yet there are answers to questions, I'm starting to love it! And I figured out how to access MFP directly so it's a cinch now to visit you! There is a big update expected very soon, and I think I would recommend trying it following that as it's a big security update.
JACKIE, attitude, attitude, attitude! Yours is so wonderful it simply must work in your favor! By the way, you haven't mentioned you beehives much this year except that they seem to have returned. How did they do?
LIN, I don't know how you accomplish all that you do, but my hat's off to you once again! I have a cousin who teaches greeting card projects and they are just lovely. My cards are not really projects as I do no gluing or cutting; just using my computer to add clip-art decorations or designs to cards in Hallmarks programs, which my neighbors seem to enjoy. I use fine heavy paper, and decorate the envelopes as well, but the size is simply 8x11 110 lb paper folded. I personalize them and do colorful additions, and truthfully, making them is as much therapy for me as it is nice for them to receive! That and Sudoku transport me right out of this world for a bit and are wonderful relief-makers when things get me a bit under! You, on the other hand, are just a generous thoughtful loving person, always giving so much of yourself!
DIANE, always a pleasure to see you back, whenever you are able to drop in! Keep coming!
SHIRLEY, interesting to read about the 3 year stretch in gyn exams this year. Just finished reading the changes in my 2016 health insurance plan, and some visits will have a 50% increase in copays, and vaccinations like flu shots will for the 1st time have copays! Our Social Security here in the states will not increase in 2016, since our cost supposedly remain low. Except if one is a senior, we really have very different expenses than the younger population, and gasoline is very low on our list whereas health is very high! Life gets complicated with few decent answers to my questions, sometimes!
SANDY, I wondered if your are still thoroughly enjoying the grandbaby sitting; not if you love Robby, but whether you find it wearing at all? Raising families nowadays truly affects far many more people than the nuclear family, doesn't it? I wonder if I might both welcome and resent it, but I'll never have the pleasure of finding out!
MARIE, indeed getting "mature" has its consequences, and I hate to mention the constant pain we come to accept as normal, the weight that gets more difficult to shed, and the walking and exercise we once loved may become a thing of the past due to plain old wear and tear (and replacements not as perfect as hoped for!), but
remembering the alternative, I will continue to appreciate staying on this side of the grass! Just catch up with me, sis, and we'll work things out together, and I, in turn, will struggle to keep up with you!
PATSY, at least hold out for your favorite color (I always loved a red car!)

Hello sneakers! I had an interesting day yesterday. We bought a new car and the procedure was amazing. We went through the Cosrco buying plan and it went smooth as silk. The price was right out there, the paperwork was easy and we were shown the dealer invoice. Cosrco had made all the negotiations sooooo....in case any of you are in the market, it was a good experience. We bought a Subaru impressa. Nothing fancy or stylish. Easy to drive and get into and out of. Mileage was reasonably low. Does it sound boring and like a blue granny-wagon? Oooooh yes!

Back to exercises in the AM again. I've been slacking off. Bad idea.! Cool weather now. We actually turned on our little heat dish for a short time this morning. Hazy day, but I think I can get a couple of out door chores done before any rain or mist. I wish I had some grandbabies to play with and dress up in funny costumes for Halloween. There are such beautiful children here on golden sneakers.

I need to figure out how to get photos on here. I have an iPad. Does anyone know how to get the photos from the iPad photo albums to post on sneakers? I am mystified here!

As I wrote before pressing the wrong button, (what's new) postage stamps cost a fortune now, especially overseas ones. I'm very interested in LIN and BUZZ's card making because I like to draw and paint my Christmas cards every year, and I like to find an appropriate verse to go with them. I have to start about now and I just send a few out to the remaining family members and a few friends. Those who seem to accept my daubs. It gives me a nice little hobby as the year winds down. Anyway, I got so excited about LINS spaghetti squash I bought one to cook for my "tea". Really looking forward to it. Like LIN my grocery cart is mainly full of organic veggies but I picked up a Yorkshire Farm organic fresh chicken to roast tomorrow now the weather is chilling along with parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower, etc, etc. Of course, here I am with my chicken and just reading everyone's dire warnings about the decomposing ones! (Not to mention poor PHYLLIS and PHOEBE with the dreaded "lurgy" as we used to call horrible tummy upsets.) The good news - it looks very fresh and smells of nothing!
I tried turning my iPad off and restarting, but to no avail SHIRLEY. It finally righted itself, or maybe someone at base read my complaining and righted it, who knows. Although cold, isnt everything just beautiful here in Ontario right now. Gorgeous colours. PATSY would love it I think.
I expect the bees are settling down for winter hibernation now the flowers are fading, JACKIE?
BUZZ, our brave one, exploring brave new computer programs. I do admire you Buzz! I timidly stay with what I know and thus lose out.
And MARIE with her kitties. I miss Tabitha Daisy so much Marie, that I almost feel like caving in and trotting off to the animal shelter, especially as my boys are convinced I'll live to be a hundred, lol, and thus outlive a new pet. The house is unbelievably fur and clutter free, and I hate it!
Well I better shut up, and wish Phoebe and Phyllis a better day, Hi to Barbie, Marcella, Dianne, Jeri, Sandy and anyone else I've missed.
    Anne.

Happy Friday! :) Tried something new with Robby today. No morning nap and he has been sleeping since noon. He woke after an hour and a half but I rocked him and laid him back down and he is still sleeping. In answer to Buzz, I do love Robby but admit I am tired. Five days a week is a lot but there is an end in my future. At the end of the school year Lisa will hopefully be pregnant and she can stop working. They will be out of debt and able to buy a house and she can be a stay at home mom. I am happy to help them but look forward to Friday. Tonight I am going to a convention for AA, AlAnon and Alateen. I am working the hospitality room from 2-4 tomorrow. Babe wants to go to Church and dinner tomorrow since he is finally starting to feel better. Sunday through Tuesday I am off to the casino with three friends. Lisa is taking two days off so I can go.
My daughters son who is 19 and adopted has made contact with his birth parents. They ended up married three years after his birth and have another boy and a girl. So my grandson has biological siblings. They are all very excited as is my daughter and her husband because they wanted an open adoption but the parents weren't ready. Plans are being made to meet in person and my grandson couldn't be happier. He assured my daughter and her husband that they are his parents and loves them. Exciting isn't it?

Again I have no time for personals but read the posts all the time. Have a great week end.

Sandy - Well I guess Robby's face says he doesn't like something. He is just adorable! I can't imagine babysitting
5 days a week but I guess you get used to it. I know when we watch Isaac I am beat and ready for bed.
I waited a long time for a grandchild so this not complaining! :D

PHOEBE AND PHYLLIS - Tis the season for the viruses. I hope you both feel better soon !
Also Phyllis be safe after the explosion to remarked about.

Another beautiful day but cool outside and as Anne said, the colors are just beautiful. I just made plans with
my friend Donna to go shopping in Niagara On the Lake in November, our Christmas shopping spree and lunch.

Today was Yoga class and instructor , Joyce, had been sick all week with the flu. She just came back to the studio
today so she said if we didn't mind Yoga will be slow and easy today. I don't mind a bit, it was actually nice to take
it slow and easy for a change.

Tonight will be chinese take out which we haven't done in a long time and looking forward to it. :)

Tomorrow I will be up early for a choir rehearsal at a school in St. Catharines at 9AM. This will be the mass choir
with all the choirs for a practice for the opening of the Performing Arts Center in November. It should sound fabulous!
LIN - I am probably the farthest one that travels for rehearsals. It take me a 25 to 30 mins where most of the
ladies live close by and our practices are from 8 to 10 pm. I find it kind of late but the director sets the time.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Good evening – lots to read again today! That is always WONDERFUL!!

I managed to run around doing one thing after another today but can’t say I really accomplished that much. Got a load of laundry out of the way. Drove down to the post office to get my card in the mail—it had a puffy lifter thing under the flower (so it was raised up on the card) and I needed to get it marked to hand stamp, no machines! Then on to the grocery store where I got a couple of things and a little gift card for a lady at church for her “Halloween” treat. She is upset because her only remaining son and his wife are traveling with another couple this weekend and the man who is doing the driving apparently is a kind of wild driver. This has her driven to distraction. I’ve talked to her several times and told her if she needed anything at all that she should call me while they are out of town. I know she likes the little treats I leave for her in *her pew* almost every Sunday so I’m all set now. I took one of my recently made Halloween cards and taped the gift card inside and have a bag ready.

I cooked another vegetable spaghetti squash and just as I was had it cooking I had a package delivery and I was whooping it up!! I had such a difficult time finding certified gluten free split green peas and had been working on getting some for a couple of weeks. TODAY they arrived. I had a recipe that came with that class I paid for that was just driving me crazy wanting to try it. So I immediately started assembling all the multitudes of spices and seasonings, and started chopping veggies so that I was set to start my soup just after the vegetable spaghetti squash was finished. I ate some leftover cauliflower and green beans from yesterday but when that soup was ready I just HAD to try some. It turned out to be quite bland to me so I jazzed it up with lots more smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and ground in a lot of black pepper. Then I filled my Vitamix with a load of the hot soup and whipped it into a nice creamy consistency and poured it back into the pot. I like it but I didn’t keep track of all the extra spice I added so next time I make it I guess I’ll just have to go by taste again. Tonight I filled a bowl with the vegetable spaghetti squash, some cooked mushrooms and filled the rest of the bowl with soup. Heavenly. I also cooked a few more sweet potatoes and it seemed all I did the rest of the time was wash dishes and put things away. Ha.

I did listen to a live webinar while I was cooking. It was actually a Google Hangout but I muted myself and shut off my camera so the others couldn’t see what I was up to. And my step count right now is just over 17,000 with 20 flights of stairs. I know, another boring day in my life but I had a good time.

Diane, so happy to hear from you and glad you’ve gotten a bit of rain but not a disastrous amount. I hope you continue to get small amounts of rain in the coming days. Your time with your granddaughter sounds like it is very interesting but somewhat hectic. I doubt I could keep up! Oh singing and dancing is such fun for little ones. Maybe you will have a ballerina. So darling. We will take pictures any time you’d like to share. (Hint)

Jackie, glad you got your coal ordered. You never know when it will be needed. I have my gas fireplace lit for the winter but got a letter from my utility company that they have to swap out the gas meter. I called and they are now scheduled to be at my house next Monday sometime between 7am and noon. Since the gas will be shutoff they will have to come in to relight the pilot lights and make sure all gas appliances are working. I am thinking of just shutting off the pilot light on the fireplace and shutting off the gas until they are finished with the swap out. I like warm, cozy rooms and also soft warm PJ’s and lap throws. I am all about the comfort these days so I hope you are very comfortable as well. I hope George is now all over the barking.

Phyllis, oh my--what a terrible time you’re having. I would probably not put a step outside my house if I was having that type of problem. I hope by the time you read this that you are on the mend. We have an odd thing going on here, about half of the teachers at a local high school all were sick with gastric problems on Thursday. They had to call off school because they didn’t have enough teachers. Apparently all the teachers attended a catered event and although they don’t know for sure, they think they all have food poisoning. No class on Friday either. That was a planned day off but the teachers are still not feeling well apparently.

Marie, I heard you were getting rain. I hope that you don’t get too much—just the right amount. We had rain all day long---sometimes just drizzle, other times relatively heavy. I had on a rain jacket and had an umbrella with me this morning but still ended up fairly wet by the time I got home. I just turned up the heat and dried out fairly quickly. It must be fun to watch the kitties zipping around—going in and out.

Buzz, I have no creativity or skill when it comes to card making. The lady who does these classes has everything prepared for us, all pieces and shapes are cut, all embellishments are ready, we have the tape, the glue, glue dots, any needed stamps, etc. etc. Just everything to make each one. And there is a picture of what the final is to look like. There just are no instructions. You do it yourself or you ask questions. I ask a lot of questions. There are no verses or anything inside them unless there is a stamp for something like happy Halloween. The Hallmark software is very nice. I had it a long, long time ago and made a few cards but as operating systems changed and my printer was going bad I gave it up. I would need to purchase software again. It is lovely of you to take the time to personalize cards. Very nice.

Anne, yes, postage stamps are a bit expensive but I don’t use many these days so it’s not a very big bite in my budget and I have no need for overseas stamps. Regarding making cards---I would imagine your cards are quite lovely and the recipients lucky to receive one! I hope you enjoy your vegetable spaghetti squash. I find them to be quite delicious and for now, I am not eating any type of pasta---not soybean, mung bean, black bean or quinoa.

Patsy, congratulations on your new car!! I am glad you are pleased with the purchase. I know nothing about that buying plan. Cosrco? Or is it Costco? If so, I didn’t know they had anything except brand new vehicles. Do you already have it??? Excitement, excitement!!

Sandy, I like your new Robby plan! And I love the photo!! His face is so expressive. Haaaaa. Sounds like a busy few days coming your way. Get some rest!!

Shirley, making plans with your friend for Christmas shopping is great. Always fun to be with friends. Chinese takeout---oh my, I haven’t heard you mention that ever I don’t think!! Enjoy the choir practice tomorrow—the upcoming performance sounds like it will be a spectacular event. And as to your own choir’s practices, you do have a long drive.

Phoebe, hope you are feeling better.

Jeri, Gayla, Barbie, Karen, Marcella---and everyone’s I’ve missed! Hope you are well and we’ll hear from you soon.

    Hugs.

Happy Saturday!! :) It is a rainy day here and great for sleeping. I planned on sleeping later than I did but someone across the parkway had Stanley Steamer cleaning something and the truck was very loud so woke me.
I went to the convention last night and enjoyed two wonderful speakers, one from AA and the other from Al Anon.
It is always so interesting to hear these speakers as they share their stories and their own recoveries. I am working the hospitality room from 2-4 but have no time for more speakers. Babe is not going to Mass after all as he had a relapse and is sick again. He claims the z pack they gave him doesn't work and had his son call the doctor for a change of medicine. It sounds like a disaster as his son screamed and yelled at the lady on the phone and she in return put him on hold for 15 minutes until he hung up and called back with more screaming and yelling. Babe said they eventually worked it out but they are still waiting for the doctor to call back. Babe asked that I stop by after Mass as he misses me and knows I am leaving for a couple of days tomorrow. He also said he would give me some spending money, so I think it is to my advantage to visit him. He also said if there is a red Ferrari or black truck in his driveway to keep going as that means his son is there.

Phoebe, glad you are feeling better.

Lin, your soup looks good, you are a good cook. Robby did sleep almost three hours with my new plan. He woke up after an hour and a half but I rocked him in my new rocker and laid him back down so he went right back to sleep. I used to make my own cards but now that the dollar tree sells them for 50 cents to a dollar I just buy them there. I send a lot of cards and ink is so expensive.

Marie, you have a good memory, I am going to try and post Zack's story here, hopefully you can read it. If on computer you can right click and open in a new tab which will make it bigger.
This grandson of course isn't the one who is reuniting with his birth parents, that one was born in Illinois.
    b1evkyghgveq.jpg

Shirley, Robby just makes that face for nothing, he is just a character. I like you am exhausted by the end of the day which is why I go to bed early when sitting. I am not complaining either because both parents really do appreciate my help and for that I am grateful.

Patsy, congratulations on your new car.
    1796414lr8n4xafj7.gif

Phyllis, hope you are feeling better and you don't have some nasty virus.

Jackie, don't worry about weight gain while doing your treatments, fluid is important even if it does add pounds.

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

LIN - Your soup looks so delicious. I am looking for a recipe in Pinterest to make a crockpot meal for dinner tonight. I am
looking for low calories of course. Looks like another batch of soup for me to make tomorrow too. I love soup especially
    homemade!

SANDY - I am glad your napping plan for Robby is working for you and making life easier for all. That is quite a storey
you shared, thanks for sharing and what a coincidence about the last name.

Choir rehearsal was amazing this morning. We had 6 mass choirs including the men which always adds to the sound
especially the basses and tenors. No men in our choir just women so its a treat to hear the guys. We had 5 different
directors and we ended 5 mins. earlier than expected. Our concert opening for the Performing Arts Center should be
great. A great experience for me who just started this journey again from high school.

A rainy and gloomy day and a good day to make soups and crockpot recipes.

Hello everybody, my youngest's put me on Firefox? and I hope my MFP problems are now over. He flies into Dallas tomorrow MARIE, so if you spot him, say Hi. It's been a pretty, wet, boring sort of a day so not much happening in my neck of the woods except another friend of my age as landed in hospital with broken bones after a fall. That's what I really dread, especially on the winters ice. My youngest says he will help me sort out a cell phone when he returns. I just rely on a land line and texting at the moment, neither any good if I collapse in a big heap like poor Rene. I think she will end up in a senior care home. I love my little place and want to stay independent as long as possible!
Just want to say how beautiful today's babies are! Congratulations all you proud grandmas. And I'm so glad the poorly girls are feeling better.

    Good evening friends.

Phoebe, glad to hear you are okay.

Phyllis, I love the pictures. Darling. Thanks for sharing.

Sandy, thank you for re-posting that story. It is amazing.

Marie, are you folks getting much too much rain?? Thinking about you.

Anne, I have used Firefox in the past. Anything but I.E. For the most part. Google Chrome is my favorite. I hope this fixes your issues. Looking forward to your acquisition of a cell phone. It is a bit more reassurance. I am with you, I'd like to stay in my home as long as possible.

Shirley, choir practice sounds wonderful. Our church choir is pretty much all ladies right now. Technically there are three male members but none show up regularly.

So my creation for today was several small potato waffles. I have to say the tiny ones I made in the past were just okay but I saw a cooking demo for them and a Belgian waffle iron was needed. I had a regular one so I hunted for the product I wanted and found it today online and it was in stock at a store just a few miles from me. I zipped over and picked one up. Got it all unpacked, washed up and ready to go. So of course I could not wait any longer so made my first little nuggets! They are so much better, more crisp and browned a bit. The grids on the iron can be removed for cleaning and it stands up for storage. Love it!!

Well tomorrow is another long day at church so will catch up with the posts tomorrow evening.

So is Patsy out driving her car?

    Hugs for everyone.

    Lin
