Hello folks - I now have a functioning garage door opener. Seems to be working well and the error code has cleared from the system. The invoice just had a total on it. No idea how much was for parts versus labor or sales tax but I guess it doesn't matter. I had just finished purchasing the two wedding gifts, one bridal shower gift and two birthday gifts that I need for upcoming events. This repair and the earlier car repair have officially emptied my pockets. Argh!!

So no word on when/if the stumps will be removed. The fence guy comes to do an estimate next week. At this point I am not in a rush.

Wishing everyone well. I am going to finish my supper and then just take a nap!

    Buzz, how are you?

    Marie, hugs. (And hi Alice---!)

Oh my goodness, we have been so busy that I've had no time to catch up with everyone.

Ed and I took our oldest granddaughter to an apt yesterday because Melanie was double booked. Great to spend one on one time with her as we don't get to do that very often. Then Ed and I went down to the Stampede Grounds, it's that time again. We walked around looked at everything and everyone. Then as they closed the casino on the grounds, a tradition for us, we stopped at one on the way home. I lost $10 and Ed made 5 cents. LOL. Had so much fun.

No new baby yet. Today is her due date.

Marie, glad to hear you are in rehab. Hope that works well for you. Big hugs. And to you too Alice, I remember what we went through with Mom in the hospital. It can be frustrating for you both.

Buzz - hugs to you too. Hope everything works out for you and Mike.

Diane - I'm sure you remember fun times at the Calgary Stampede too. We didn't stay for the rodeo or the chuck wagon races but we walked through the barns and looked at all the animals and exhibits. Fun.

I've been busy doing quite a bit of genealogy as we are going to a reunion in a couple of weeks. Busy busy.

Must run. I only have 5,400 steps in and my goal is 10,000

    Have a great evening. Hugs

    Jeri

MARIE, you look "Mahvelous" , darlin ' Li'l Sis! Just allow the entire staff to spoil you while you are there! And heal well and soon, dear!
Meanwhile, Mike will be moving up to the 3rd floor in the Medical building. And today he said he passed the motorized chair test! I hope it's true, but will soon find out!
Busy day, going to his cardiologist, who reversed yesterday's nephrologist's ,opinion about doing surgery to help his heart! Car Buzzdio says it would be like suicide! It seems his stenosis of the aortic valve is not very, very tight, and perhaps his pain on walking is angina, for which he prescribed medication!
Now I lay me down to sleep...Aaaaaah! Soon I'll return to normal, I hope!

Ha BUZZ, what IS normal, but you know what I mean. LIN love the colourings especially the kitty.
Now, Walkie times in a branch bedecked street after a tremendous storm and rain at 1:30am. Jill and I sat on the bed and watched it so we are both somewhat lethargic which is lovely not having the jumping Bean leaping all over the place.
    Morning MARIE!

Whoops, meant to answer SANDY. No spaying for now because one of the complications that can arise is loss of bladder control, and who wants to have a hysterectomy anyway!! I knew of this potential pitfall but fellow dog walker Janice didn't. Her pretty little dog Amy has to be walked constantly now, especially as they live in an apartment. She's now having to pay for hormone replacement pills for the rest of Amy's life! I tell you, job security for vets! Mine never mentioned loss of bladder control when she was telling me the problems (for humans) that can arise with an unspayed dog. Jill is so tiny I can cope for now, but I'll keep an open mind for the future. None of our past girls were spayed and we never had unwanted puppies. However, its a minefield out there making decisions these days! We have to rely on experts, but who knows if it's in the interest of the dog, the interest of the owner, or long term security for the expert!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear CONNIE. Wish I had time to do a spectaculat graphic, but Mike moves to Medical today, we will attempt to attend a birthday party this evening but I must get some clothes ready for him, desperate for a haircut, and I haven't made the greeting card yet, so please forgive!
Also see I screwed up last night's post with a wandering cursor. My signature wandered up to the middle of "cardio"; sorry about that. I'm just not very lucid these days!
Tried to absorb al your posts, but will be back tomorrow and try again. XOXOXO
DIANE, good to see you back!

Happy Thursday! :) I have my meeting today so again short on time. For three days I have my car parked in the street because they said they were going to seal our driveways and common area. This morning Babe called and asked if they started and I heard what I thought was their trucks so told him yes. Since his daughter is coming in tonight from California and staying until next Tuesday he was going to bring my check and some supplies. We agreed to do it after dinner but realized after I hung up and looked outside that it was a tree cutting service I heard. I have been trying to call him back ever since but no answer on either his house phone or cell phone. I am frustrated but oh well I tried. Maybe I will stop at his house after the meeting to save him from driving here since he is still dizzy all the time.

Anne, maybe with a small dog like Jilly it would be fine to have them go in heat. They can keep themselves clean but big dogs are messy and I don't think I could handle the pads. If I remember right and that is iffy, I think my vet recommended spaying not only for her protection of male dogs but because if spayed less bladder infections. I think it is a matter of personal choice and since bodily functions are not my forte, I chose spaying and neutering.

Buzz, hopefully Mike isn't confused and did pass the motorized chair test. I am a little confused with Car Buzzdio is that you? So one doctor said to do surgery and the other said no surgery? Let's hope the medication works and relieves Mike's pain. ***you posted while I was writing so makes sense now.

Lin, love your colorings, they are really beautiful. How do you know what colors to use, they are just perfect. BTW, kitty coloring was not blurry at all. Both are just wonderful!!

Jeri, I love how you gamble, you and Ed make me laugh. Praying your daughter has an easy birth and soon!!!

Shirley, your early arrival of your appointment was good news for Isaac and for you with 40% off. Glad Dave got the A/C up and running, makes for better sleeping.

Patsy, your description of Katie's antics makes us all laugh. I love that she loves music! When I was in Florida the first night and woke up in the middle of the night to use the "ladies' room I was confused as to where I was, it was an eerie feeling until I woke up a little more.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy life!

Marie - Lookin good young lady!! Glad to see that smiling face. You must be feelin better.

Lin - I am glad your garage door is in working order. We had one that wouldn't open or close sometimes and we had to get all new works again. Love the pictures you did, you are artistic. My pictures aren't so detailed as yours.

Jeri - Glad to hear from you and happy days at the stampede. Maybe next time you and Ed will win more money. :)

Sandy - I hope you get your check soon from Babe, and good luck with the paving. There is so much construction going on in the summer and up here mainly in the city not on the lake. :p

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNIE! Sorry no graphics, WiFi here is not the greatest.

Anne - We have had all our girl dogs spayed and never had a problem with bladders or
anything else for that matter. Good luck on your decision with Jilly bean.

Buzz- such a worry with Mike and his medical condition and any new plans that you are doing for him my thoughts are with you.

Today was another Yoga class and it was me and another woman. So we had some good instruction I got a coffee after that and something to eat and then back to the cottage.

Dave and Tom went fishing but no luck. They also tried to take down the outhouse but there were two nests and Dave got stung from a bee. They are going to wait until dark and then spray and kill the nests first and try another day.
Sorry Jackie, but something has to be done.

Beautiful day here on the coast. I will be finishing the paint job on the gate today. Also sweeping the many sticks from the deck. Katie is part beaver...she bring sticks upon the deck from the lower acreage. She chews them up and will not clean up after herself!!!!

Lin: stunning coloring pages. I liked the tree design the best. Great design and color shading.

Marie! Look at you ! Looking pretty sharp kiddo!

Anne: if I were in your shoes, I know I would be considering not spaying Jilly. However, in our case we must! Katie lives out in the country where we have many large dogs around, unleashed and unfenced. We also have coyotes! I did mention the bladder problem to our vet. Yes, that happens upon occasion. Not real often but it does happen. We love our fur babies and want to do what is best for them. I don't pretend to know much of anything, I just want Katie safe and healthy. I know you feel the same about your darling Jilly.

Off to deck cleaning and gate painting.

I've always been told spaying saves pets from health issues later, including cancer.
Hi Beautiful Marie! I was amazed at my aunt's improvement after her rehab.
    Lin, love the artwork, beautiful!
Another trip back to California :/
Shirley, or Jackie, isn't there something you can do with smoke and bees?

PATSY, thanks for your comments. Yes, like you I want Jill to outlive me with a long and healthy life. Isn't it a worry wondering what to do for the best. I've been told the same as you PHOEBE, that spaying can save pets from later health issues, but I've also been told it can actually cause cancer. At the moment my family want me to lay off spaying. Amy's mom wishes someone had told her about the weak bladder problem, not to mention the costly hormone pills. Meanwhile, blissfully ignorant of her possible fate, Jilly like Katie also thinks she's a beaver with the stick collection. I have a plant I particularly like and whenever she is out in the yard she knows she mustn't touch it, but every time she rushes over and grabs a leaf to gallop triumphantly off with it. No amount of scolding, no bringing inside stops this game. The funniest thing though was last night. I had the radio on and it was a programme about coyotes. A recording of coyotes howling was played. Jilly's ears pricked up, she sat down, put her head back, and howled in unison. I had to turn the radio off! By the way, we too have coyotes that live in the ravine and 16 mile creek nearby. We see them at dawn going home. Meanwhile I have a little more time to come to a conclusion and maybe one heat is a good thing. Thanks everyone who commented on this. Appreciated.
    Anne.

Hi good looking! Wanna come over and play? Anne says she's knackered. Don't know what that means. Something to do with a knackers yard where old horses go when they're past it.

    Marie - you look terrific!!!!

Buzz - trying times for you for sure. Hopefully your routine will settle down. Please take care of yourself.

Patsy and Anne - The dog pics are sooo cute.

    Connie - Happy Birthday

Sandi - did you catch up with Babe? Aren't Ed and I funny at the casino!! I at least am finally able to bet 50 cents. Good thing because the slots are often 40 cents minimum. Ed often plays only 1 line and tries to stop it prematurely to get a bonus. I'm not good at that tho. We have fun and the casino is only 10 to 15 minutes away on the Indian reservation. Calgary has 7 casinos with another 2 outside a bit. But usually we go to the one closest to us. We have fun

No new baby yet. ..... Waiting, waiting. Ed is getting grumpy because he wants to go places but we are on call. The kids feel a trip to McDonalds is part of it all and I can't drive Mel's huge van which holds all 8 kids. So Ed has to stick around.

I'm sitting and relaxing. I got in my 10,000 steps by walking in a figure 8 through the house. It's rainy out and I wanted that magic number.

Hope you all had a great day

    Jeri

Anne: Jilly is very cute. I love her curly tail. Katie's tail is a long upward curved tail with "feathers" that is really great at knocking everything off a coffee table in one swipe. Bare with us Sneakers...we are lovingly proud pet owners. We love photos of puppies, grandchildren, flowers, vacations, and art/craft work. As well as anything else that you sneakers want to share i.e. Recovering sneakers in rehab and wonderful menu items.

Why am I up so late? >:) Mike's move went fairly smoothly, and it was handled by the staff while our darling chaplain dressed and combed him for the dinner party we attended! Mike wore his new summer cotton jacket I ordered online, with slim white pants, and looked very spiffy wheeling his motorized wheelchair, which was allowed because Reverend Joel accompanied him! I think he enjoyed the evening, and he will be just fine with his new roomate! Hooray!
Doesn't MARIE look fantastic! And beautiful, as well as fit! ALICE, you are wonderful! Thanks.
Now I will fall into bed for about 2 hours but promise to be more sensible after tonight! I had to make a new card because the party was an anniversary and I mistakenly made it a birthday card! So I remade that, and while I was at it, there were 7 more on this months list, so I got carried away! Meanwhile, I enjoyed reading all your posts and seeing the marvelous photos and SANDY, may that check be there today! You are all so great!

Went for walkies with Jilly and met Lacy and Bosun who Jilly knows. ALL dogs SAT on command! This is turning into super Friday because outside potty training now sinking in. We met a sweet little boy who asked if Jilly was "trained". "Sort of" I replied. "Do you do what your mommy tells you to do?" "Not all the time" he replied. Truthful little boy!
Busy day today. Lots of errands and banking. Enjoy it. Not so humid after lots of blessed rain!
