Happy Friday! It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Finally this afternoon Lisa is coming with Robby and we are both getting our hair touched up and cut! I finally got a hold of Babe who was cutting grass at the pet cemetery so didn't hear his phone. He brought my check and supplies last night so I am all set. He went back to the neck doctor and got three shots in the muscles of his neck to help with the pain and dizziness. If that doesn't work then in three months they will do a more evasive shot deep into his neck. Ouch. I hope it works for him because he is miserable.
Anne, how much does little Jilly weigh? She looks like a little peanut, so darn cute. I love that kids are so honest, I wish adults did the same.
Buzz, I am glad things went smoothly and Mike got to use his motorized wheelchair. I do hope things settle soon so you can get back to a "normal" routine and get some sleep.
Patsy, you could never bore us with those pet pictures, we love each and every one. You put up with our grandchildren photos so we are all sharing our loves!!
Jeri, I wish I had your discipline at the casino, that is why I only go once or twice a year. We have several casinos in our area as well but my favorite is actually The Four Winds which is about an hour and a half away in Michigan.
Phoebe, I'm with you , I would love to be able to play with Jilly and Katie, they do melt my heart.
Jackie, where oh where did you go?
Barbie, how is Jake doing?
Line, what activities are you up too today?
Have a great day everyone, I plan on doing the same!

Good to hear from you Marie, sounds like you are progressing and enjoy your lunch!!
Buzz - I hope Mike enjoys his new home and you can get some sleep now.
A rainy day here at the cottage and its still raining but should disperse soon. Dave and I went into North
Bay shopping for food for tomorrow's birthday party for my MIL with her friends from up here. The weather is predicted to be good and the humidity is all gone. Whew! I guess at home its still no rain and I checked with my neighbor yesterday to see if she got my message about watering this weekend. She said she did and would water for us. I will reciprocate on her new landscaping in the front of her house and help her water too when I get home.
I hope to get my walk in so I can get those 10,000 steps in but we shall see how the weather goes.

I ADORE the photos of our growing puppy family! I want to come and visit both Katie and Jilly. So incredibly CUTE CUTE CUTE!
So today I went to Tai Chi and the weather was so nice I decided to do some driving and find all 3 venues for seminars I will be attending in the next several weeks. Found them all and it was indeed very nice!
After lunch I went nuts--backed up files, printed out a hard copy of all my sites/passwords and then first did all required updates to Windows 8.1 or 8.2, whatever I had. Then I installed Windows 10. That has taken a LONG TIME! I have lost a number of applications that are not compatible with Windows 10. Apparently my wireless mouse is not compatible and it will not discover the device. Rats. Also the dongle for my Fitbit is toast. I guess everything runs off the iPhone now? EDIT: Wireless mouse is working now.
I am going to spend some time trying to find my way around a bit more. This is a big adjustment for me. Haaaaaa.
Happy weekend to everyone.
I am so happy my laptop did the upgrade!!!

Jake is doing very well. He walks a bit more each day and has been off the narcotic pain pills for over a week. We still have another week or so of daily towel changing and every other day sheet changing and I feel like laundry is my middle name, but it's worth it to keep him from getting any sort of infection. He has been very good about not giving me directions when I'm driving and not trying to do any chores around the house.1

Back to California again. We stopped a while ago for dinner, I saw a big cat litter box, the covered kind, in the bushes. Jim investigated found a mom and her litter of kittens. So cute. One is a Siamese. We took a little bit of meat to them. The people feed them.
Marie, you look well rested and that's a big meal! Looks delicious too. My aunt has settled into her new room and she really likes her roommate. If it works, here is her room, or her half of it. Her daughter brought her furniture in and decorated.

Oh my gosh, is that your aunt Phoebe? How old did you say she is? She sure looks young to me!0

Nicely decorated room Phoebe. And I agree with Sandy--she looks pretty young to me too!0

As I began to post, my window changed to dark gray and a notice about being in unchartered territory appeared. In the bottom box I X-ed out something and here I am again, rather shaken but still alive! What on earth is going on here?
We had our dinner on the upstairs patio and found it to be very pleasant. Enjoyed my first Chicago style dog in a bun, probably killing my badly swollen right leg, but I certainly enjoyed every bite!
Now comes the hassling over traditional Medicare vs. staying with my HMO, with which Edgewater has no contract! To my way of thinking, medicine has changed radically though not necessarily ethically. Has anyone been seeing a doctor whose group suddenly decided to go "concierge", meaning one pays a yearly fee to continue seeing your doctor with certain advantages? For $1500 a year, you get immediate appointments and coffee in the reception room! Hippocratic oath be damned! Anyway, I suddenly have a bunch of bills for Lab Tests, etc., I never used to be charged for, and I'm waiting to see what else I will be billed for that is equally unexpected!
Again, your posts are delightful to read, despite falling asleep before, during and after reading! Thunder is rolling fiercely since I started this, so I'm logging off and disconnecting immediately! Hugs to everybody...

Thanks for the picture, PHOEBE! I guess I should decorate Mike's new room, too. Your Aunt is adorable! And her room looks "homey"!

So I was happily logging in my brekky of nice healthy porridge when an advertisement popped up informing me that if I "gallop" (no pun intended) over to the lone star restaurant I can have all the ribs I can consume for a "mere" $28! Bit surprised MFP would publish such an ad on a fitness programme, but I guess even the lean owners of MFP have to generate an income to eat, be it porridge or ribs.
Just commenting, hi girls!
Glad everything is progressing well for you and Jake, Barbie.
Time for early morning cuppa in the "grounds" while Jill decides if ant consuming and leaf chasing is more important than being in the "grounds" for what she's supposed to be a'doing.

My aunt turned 78 on her birthday (July 6).yay buzz, glad Mike is settling. You too.
Anne, anything to make a buck must be Under Armor's motto.
Hi all. Got to go

Happy Saturday! Lisa and I got our hair done and I am really blonde. I think I like it but have to wait to see how it looks after I do it today. It was fun being with Robby and playing with him, he is just getting so big so fast. It is a cooler day today but supposed to get to 78 which might warrant a pool day.
Patsy, have a wonderful birthday and I hope you get extra kisses from Katie!!
Phoebe, your aunt looks terrific and no where near 78. I love her hair and she is just so cute!!
Anne, I don't think MFP cares who advertises as long as they pay the fee.
Buzz, does your complex take medicare? Wouldn't that help with the decision? I do hope you didn't put ketchup on your Chicago style hot dog, that is forbidden!!
Barbie, glad to hear Jake is doing well, it takes time but should be worth it when all healed.
Lin, I am still learning Windows 10 but I do like it. I just have a harder time finding certain folders but when stumped I just use the little info box on the left and search for them.
Hello to everyone else, enjoy your day!!
Sandy

Marie, you are looking well and your dinner looks delicious, your kind of food.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATSY!
Its a beautiful day here, I went for a walk and thought I racked up some steps, but no, my battery was dead in my Fitbit. I still got in my exercise which really counts anyway.
Barbie - Good to hear Jake is up and doing things even though you have major laundry to do.
Jackie - We found out that the nests in the outhouse were yellow jackets, not honey bees. Whew!
We also found another nest under the front deck which Dave has to deal with again.
Today we are having friends over for my MIL's birthday party later today. I think i will take an Up North
shower, that is, outside with the hose. We try and conserve the well water here. Yes I will have my bathing suit on LOL.
Phoebe - I agree your aunt looks well for 78 and her new room looks cozy.
Buzz & Lin - I hope you get your computer problems solved, don't you love technology.

Wonderful photos from everyone, especially dear Marie, you're looking amazing sweetheart! We've had some decent weather so I've been busy doing all sorts of outdoor tasks including the allotment where we are beginning to see fruits of our labours. A big trauma for dear George today unfortunately when I opened up the beehive to place a new box of empty frames for them to store honey on. Being a warm and sunny day I assumed most would be out and about but instead an angry mass came storming out and did their best to sting me which was ok because I had my bee suit on but they then sensed George in the garden and attacked. The first I knew was hearing him screaming so I quickly put the hive back together and ran to pick him up covered in bees, then rushed him to the top of the garden where he has a paddling pool (yes it's his!!) and placed him in the water so I could splash the bees off. My neighbour heard the commotion and ran round to help while I phoned the vet..... these things always happen on a weekend and he'd just gone home so emergency service put me through and he agreed to travel back to the practice. SO, the upshot was George got driven in to town and received a painkiller injection and steroid shot to reduce any swelling. He's now in la-la land feeling just a bit spaced out but thankfully we avoided him going into shock.... I think most of the shock was mine! We managed a slow walk round the village this evening in beautiful late sunshine so he'll hopefully sleep well tonight.
48 posts were waiting for me when I logged on to the site this evening and I've read through but will now settle down. Shirley I'm not familiar with yellow jackets but pleased it wasn't bees that had to be destroyed although having typed that, I did promise George this afternoon that if the bees give him any more trouble I'll set fire to the hive!!
Sandy ~ You asked for a photo of the curtains finally hung and I did try but the sun shining in the window blacked out the foreground until 9pm this evening so here they are in all their glory. You might well ask what took so long!!!
Buzz ~ I was of course so pleased to read Mike is settled in and appears to be enjoying himself so do please give yourself a break and get a decent amount of sleep tonight.
That's it, I'm yawning so will find a small pot of ice cream to finish the evening and then head for bed. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday and I'll catch up properly tomorrow. Hoping I won't wake to more ghastly news of yet another evening of death and destruction.... makes you wonder what's going on in the world!

Oh JACKIE, I was horrified to read about poor little George and the bee stings!! Please keep us posted after a nights sleep. Poor little man. Did the vet have to pull out any of the stinging body parts? Can't remember what they are called, but what the bee leaves behind when it stings. The curtains look lovely and very pretty. Like you I've enjoyed all the photos, PHOEBES auntie and MARIE looking so well, PATSYS pretty little Katie, (although maybe not so little), the flowers, BUZZ and Mike, I find the photos enhance our imaginings of everyone and are appreciated very much by me.

Hello All,
We received a call from Sean at 9 am telling us the baby was in progress. We went over right away to help out. The midwives had arrived shortly before us. Our plan was to keep the kids occupied and then take them as part of our new tradition to McDonalds for lunch. Before we had even left, Maggje, Margaret Anne Sonia Blair was born at 11:15 am. 8 lbs. and 21" long. So sweet. Everyone had a quick look and then we all went for lunch bringing back some food to Mel and Sean. We took pics got to hold the baby and left feeling so happy. Honestly I took a picture of Melanie holding Maggie right after she was born and she looked so beautiful.
