Hello, before I forget, yes Anne, I saw that photo that was AI generated but I will tell you I thought it was somewhat freaky. When they said it was AI generated, I said, I totally believe that! And there was a song released on YouTube that was created by AI learning the voices of 2 musicians. The guy admitted it at least. I am seeing images on Facebook that are computer generated and the person posting it doesn’t admit it. Lots of comments from people saying it is fake. We seem to be loving quickly to the point of never knowing if something is real. That bothers me!

Jackie, well done on finding you friend. Yes! Now 🤞🏻 for good weather Thursday morning.

Sandy, I hope you finished your errands today. I wonder why the tax deadline is tomorrow, the 18th? Did it have to do with Orthodox Easter on Sunday? I wrote a parcel of checks for taxes in the last month including Fed and State for remaining tax due 2022 and 1st quarter estimates for 2023, and not all have been cashed yet. They are slow!

Joy, so happy you had an excellent weekend. A lovely visit and delicious food.

Patsy, did I miss you? Sorry if I did.

I did more tidying and straightening up today. I am thinking of consigning again and found out my account is still in the system. So now I am trying to sort through all the rules, times, regulations, etc. to see if it is worth giving it a go again.

It has been quite loud in the neighborhood today as the neighbor across the street was having her roof replaced and it was a steady noise of air powered hammer combined with loud music. I am hoping they finished the job, but I don’t think so.

I need to get the trash out.

    Be safe everyone.

Sadly Anne we will never again know what is real, created by humans, because this AI is already in charge of its own destiny. If it doesn’t like the information it is fed, it alters it and I dread to think what will happen in the wrong hands. Now it seems cheating is somehow acceptable because it is deemed clever! We thought scammers and hackers were bad but this thing operates at another level! 😳

It’s a beautiful day so after a walk on the moors where I didn’t see another dog walker, I have been weeding and sorting through seedlings that require potting on. Linda gave me a pack of tomato seeds that, according to Google, are happier outside so I will have to chat to her about whether to bother housing them in my greenhouse.
Barney the gardener messaged first thing to let me know the person who cancelled his appointment for today had a change of mind so he won’t be here until next week. Hopefully the bees will have been rehomed so he can safely take the top off the laurel. The hens are mucked out and I’ve brought 9 eggs in to my kitchen. I eat an omelette last night so I’ll share a few and perhaps hard boil the rest.

Hands washed and an exciting glass of water consumed so back to work!
    Happy Tuesday everyone.

Happy Tuesday! :) The sun is shining and should get up to 50F. Getting a manicure at noon and then meeting friends for an early dinner. The more I move the better I feel. It's not easy being old.

Jackie, nice that you can go with the flow even when plans change. Might be a good sign and the bees will be gone so he can do what you what him do.

Anne, when I was a little tiny girl I used to dream of being attacked by soldiers and the only way to get away from them was to fly. I had the same dream over and over. The reason being was I was told in Catholic School that I should be ready do die for my religion just like in the bible. I think I was about 7 and didn't want to die so I would just fly away. I am sure there is some meaning to that dream.
The truth of the matter is don't believe everything you see or hear on the internet.

Have a great day and stay healthy.

Good evening. I need to login in soon for my usual Tuesday night live stream.

Today was a sunny and warmer day. I wish we could stay warmer and wave away the predicted storms. 🤞🏻

I made a trip to Trader Joe’s today and didn’t wear a mask. The store wasn’t overly busy and I didn’t linger. I never did get around to cooking or to cleaning vegetables today. I switched over to more cleaning and straightening. Today my task was to sort through all my make-up and lotions purchased before Covid, and the box of bandages and wraps that goes back to about 1975. A lot was tossed! Next on the list, the upstairs bathroom cabinet under the sink. It is packed!

Then I started on a card but haven’t gotten far yet.

Sandy, I hope you are enjoying your dinner this evening. And glad you are feeling back to yourself again.

Jackie, a busy day for you and as always, accomplishing a lot. Good for you.

Well I don’t see other posts, sorry if I missed anyone.

    Be safe.

Well, I can see why we are all moved to spring clean. Not much else to do when its one degree and snow is dusting the tulip buds. My spring cleaning is almost done with all the pre Covid stuff thrown out. I desperately need a new bra! So much so that I will be viewed as a down and out soon! Of course I put all my devices on charge yesterday after talking to Sandy and wouldn’t you guess Mary Jo text to say she had been to the office rather than working from home. She had to pass the mall and what exactly did I want because she would try and find a suitable bra to have me looking respectable again. I found the message this morning when I unplugged. Missed opportunity! I am already into au natural with make up so who cares if I’m bra-less as well!

Sandy was her usual self now recovered from the Corvid. She tends to be somewhat bossy telling what one should or shouldn’t do and how she made sure HER mother followed advice. Of course all this goes into my good ear until I transfer the phone to my bad one. She means well and it’s all part of being a doctors receptionist for years I guess. I know Mike gets bombarded. He by the way is now back at work but secluded in his office.

Well, the temperature is supposed to creep up to 11 this afternoon. “What oh!!!” It’s 2 right now so it’s getting there. Almost too warm to be confined in a bra!

Take my musings with a grain of salt. I’m full of the joys of…..spring today.

    Anne. 🙃🐕‍🦺

Happy Wednesday! :) Groceries ordered for afternoon delivery before my son and wife arrive. Will do a little dusting and clean bathrooms and hopefully I can vacuum, otherwise I will ask my son to do so.
It's going to be a nice day with temps reaching 70F so they should have a good drive. They will be here until Sunday but I do have to sit tomorrow night for Charlie a couple of hours. They will probably go to dinner by themselves since we are going to visit the kiddos on Friday.
Had fun with my friends yesterday and yes did a little gambling. Lost a little money but not a lot.
I am still not 100% but at least 99% so I am happy with that.

Anne, since you only get your kids visiting, who cares if you wear a bra? There are many days I do the same if no one is coming to see me. lol

Time to eat and get cleaning. Have a good day.

Well I do get the occasional visitor SANDY, lol. Admittedly, not handsome young men hammering on my door these days. More likely people in my own age group who are probably bra less as well.

Marks here working downstairs. They take off for Florida on Sunday.

And me and Jilly the Bean are about to go to the mail box and for a walk. Oh and wearing
a bra in case I fall down and end up in the hospital!

    Anne.

PS. By the way the Sandy I referred to earlier was Mikes friend. NOT our Sneaker Sandy in case anybody wondered.

Hello Everyone….well, we had Monday doing laundry and errands and yesterday we cleaned house. This morning was last minute room check. Out of towners arriving this afternoon. Its early here but I am thinking about lunch. I am always thinking about food…..logging it, planning, shopping, prepping, and cooking as little as possible. Today, specifically, what can we eat that will leave kitchen spotless. Lori tells me I always leave crumbs…too many. I started one crossword this a.m. but didnt finish. Tomorrow I have to go to physical therapy and tell Kyle I fell again and I didnt do my exercises for the correct repetitions. It feels like I have to see the principal! So tomorrow Debbie and I will go out to eat. Since she drives me to my appointments, we decided at least I can treat her to lunch. So I have that to look forward to.

Chilly but gorgeous out. The trees have a green haze, the daffodils and magnolias blooming and Marks arch enemies the dandelions appearing. Maria’s house has had the SOLD notice taken down so new neighbours soon. Beautiful sunny day.
I have to confess to a weird sense of humour, so I hope I don’t hurt anybody, not my intention.

It’s been cold today but at least the forecasted rain didn’t appear. I met up with another dog walker called Janet that I’ve walked with before and we chose a different route that is more level than my usual climb. She suffers with arthritis so walking up hill is painful. We walked about 4 miles all told but sadly, halfway we found a sheep lying on the track that looked like a dog had mauled her. She was alive so I tried to phone friends that live next to the property where the farmer lives but thankfully he came along at that point on one of those farm buggies, collected her, drove round checking the rest of the flick were ok then took her away, hopefully to recover. At that point my phone rang and it was the hospital to let me know I have a follow up check on the skin cancer on May 3rd. That seems to show I’ve moved from 3 monthly visits to 6 months which I’m happy with. Before heading home we stopped for coffee and cake while the dogs rested under the table and although we are tired George, Betty and I had a cold but lovely morning and a Janet said she enjoyed herself too because her husband appears to be in early stages of Alzheimers and she is struggling with his mood swings. I was glad I had set the fires ready for a flame because that was the first thing I did when we got home. All warmed up now!

Hello, it is hot! And the 77 degrees F is accompanied by a severe storm/tornado watch. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I did laundry today, cleaned my fresh veggies, did some cleaning out and unfortunately was stung by a wasp. 🦟 OUCH! And shortly after I received a phone call from the friend who calls once in a while. She is apparently losing more of her hearing and ability to know what day it is. She asked me confirm that Mother’s Day was this week. I told her I needed to treat my wasp sting (not easy holding the phone) but she didn’t tumble to my need. A half hour later she said she had to go to have her lunch. What a day.

Anne, I knew which Sandy you were talking about. Our dear Sandy would never act that way.

Sandy, sorry you lost a bit of lovey but happy you had a good time. Enjoy your visitors! 👍🏻👍🏻

Joy, sorry you have to see ‘the principal’ but gosh, you do seem to have a happy life filled with visits, and lunches out. Enjoy tomorrow’s lunch (after the not so happy visit with PT).

Jackie, did you have a nice day? Is your weather more temperate now?

Patsy, hope you are okay. ❤️

Barbie, hope you are and Jake are well m

    Be safe everyone.

Well, good news for me! I’ve just completed a BBC news app quiz on recognising real images and videos against AI. I guessed 7 out of 8 correctly, mostly using common sense considering whether the composition was likely to have happened. I feel safer now!! 🫣😵‍💫

We have high thin clouds and it is chilly out. Nothing looks like spring here at the moment. But I have high hopes.

We have an odd situation going on concerning family. John has a nephew who was a traveling salesman before he recently retired. He was successful because he connected to a company that supplied casinos and hotels. I confess to never really warming up to him. In fact I find him decidedly creepy. He calls himself a part time minister and has taken a few classes. I know I sound rather judgmental and I guess I am. He is insisting on coming to visit. Not only that but he wants Damon’s info and Andrea so he can visit them as well. They have followed my opinion as well, they don’t want to visit with him. I gave them his phone number and they can make their own decisions on his visit etc. it might be that he just wants to make contact with family. Or a chance to spread his interpretation of “The Word.” He has 6 kids, all home schooled and they are adults now that can barely read and write! So the drama continues. I will try to be more accepting and generous of spirit.

Beautiful sunshine at this moment. Glorious!

Dearest John us doing okay. His vocabulary is very limited but he is getting along better. The doc has decided he had a small stroke and it effected the part of the brain affecting speech and he is having some memory problems. Small hand and eye problems. He seems to be getting a bit better but refuses PT. We sneak it in by asking for help on various things and problems.

I miss chatting with you all but time is short and I must do more and watch over John and the house repairs ongoing. Whew!

A beautiful sunny morning but that cold wind is back with a vengeance. As I was leaving home to meet Sheila for our early dog walk she phoned to tell me she would not be there because she has a bad migraine. Heather’s funeral is tomorrow so it might be a reaction to saying a final farewell to her friend. Since I was ready to go I took George and Betty to our usual spot and strolled for about 40 minutes which was long enough for both of them after yesterday’s marathon. The car park was empty and not a soul about but I did hear the cuckoo calling for the first time this year so all is well with the world!
A greetings card has arrived from one of my older brother’s ex girlfriends with news her youngest is attending Exeter university, only 40 miles away, and she would love to visit once she has dropped him off. We haven’t spoken in about 20 years so I’ve just phoned to tell her of course she must stay. That’s the end of this month and she has promised to bring me some of her wonderful spices that she uses to make delicious, aromatic curries.
Nothing but gardening planned today even if I have to wrap up.

Definitely go with your instincts Patsy! Being creepy is more of an indicator of someone’s character than being a part time Minister!

Coffee finished so I’m off out to weed and seed.
    Happy Thursday.

Happy Thursday! :) Had a wonderful birthday dinner last night even though my birthday is long gone. We came back and played a game and it was a great evening. Today they are taking me to Costco to get new glasses. I am not a member but they are and I returned the lens I got from Walmart because they weren't working. My eye doctor tweaked my prescription so we will see if new glasses work.
I am sitting tonight for Charlie as Lisa has to work late and Rob is taking boys to baseball practice.
John and Laurie will probably go out to eat and maybe a movie.

Jackie, grief is a strange thing, it can make people sick which in my case hasn't been fun. I hope my immune system builds up soon because I am not used to being ill. I do feel on the road to recovery though. Have fun with your visitor, it should be great catching up on over 20 years.

Patsy, go with your gut on having John's nephew visit. Your plate is full with taking care of John and fixing up the house. Maybe he could just stay in a hotel or AirBNB and visit for one afternoon.
Taking care of yourself is most important.

Lin, I hope your wasp bite is healed and that you are not allergic. I don't think I could stay on the phone as long as you do, I am not a phone person.

Time for breakfast and a shower. Have a great day.

ALWAYS trust your instincts PATSY. Just tell him it’s not possible to meet physically at the moment because you and John have health issues. That goes for Andrea as well, and Damon is never home, either he’s on his boat or house hunting. I learnt long ago to trust my instincts. I had problems dislodging a widower who regardless of making kind excuses turned up on my doorstep weekly. It was a great relief when his family finally managed to put him in a senior long time care facility. I actually contacted his son in the end. Don’t worry about hurting feelings. People who don’t pick up hints are thick skinned.
    Anne.

PS. I should add I had trouble getting rid of this once work employee because he drove 60 miles from a distant town to visit. I ended up feeding him lunch! This went on for a few years. No amount of hints dislodged him and if I wasn’t home he’d drive around to friends or malls to see if I was there. He was probably lonely which made it harder to be “mean” and I hope I’m not a mean person but before I called his son I was beginning to see signs of dementia, like mistaking red lights for stop signs and driving through them! That’s the main reason I phoned his son. He once said a train had just missed him on a country road crossing. I gather the car got confiscated! Anyway, I learnt from that experience to trust my instincts right at the beginning. Phew.

Good Thursday morning to all. First, Patsy, how clever of you to find ways to PT your dear John. I am thinking of you. And Sandy, saying prayers you are healing from your grief and taking care of yourself. Sometimes we spend so much time taking care of others, we neglect ourselves. Jackie, in sunny Cali we have been having the coldest wind gusts…robbing us of the Springtime we love. Soon it will be so hot we cant manage! I will enjoy my morning coffee thinking of you weeding and seeding. Deb will pick me up and take me to PT later. I actually am looking forward to it. I mean Kyle is a sweet young man, easy on the eyes, who just wants to make me feel better!
Hope everyone had a good day.😍

Good evening. MFP is playing. I don’t see many of your posts until the next day. I am going to bed early. We did have many overnight storms. But mostly noise from strong wind and pouring rain. I lost some sleep. Now the thermostat is heading down!

Patsy, I hope you can avoid this relative. He sounds a bit like a snake oil salesman. ❤️❤️

Joy, how did your day turn out?

Sandy, busy time for you. Enjoy your time with your son and his wife. I know you will.

Jackie, that will be an interesting visit. Twenty years! You will never catch up on everything.

Anne. will Michael be stopping over to visit you while the MMS are away?

    Nothing interesting here today.

    Barbie, enjoy being indoors.
Lin, my day was great, I told Kyle I did not want to do anything because my back felt worse….although only a No.4 on the pain scale. He put me in a chair with heat pak. Then put me on a table and used a tuning fork type tool to see if there were any indications of spinal fracture. There were none. So while poking and prodding my back, he would ask hurt now, you ok, etc. I said to him it feels like I should book a massage. So he gave me a ten minute massage. Then, still on table, I did a few easy hip stretches. And then I left til next week! Deb and I decided to go home to Debs and Charlie and Lori and I had a nice lunch. Tomorrow we drive Lori to the airport at 9:00.

Never a dull moment it seems around here. First off Sandy, my husband and I are still together living in a senior community not far from where we raised our two kids. Both married, our daughter and her husband live about 1/2 hr away in a rural area. Two of their 3 kids are still at home...17 and 12. Our son, wife and 2 girls moved to Tennessee almost a year ago. They love it there, but we sure do miss seeing them. Joy....I spent my first 18 yrs in the Bay Area. It was a great place to live many years ago, but has really changed. Glad to be up in Northern California now for many years.

I too have been busy doing some major spring cleaning around here. My husband decided to go thru a lot of paperwork he had stored away taking far more time than he wished. He said to me to be sure he doesn't allow that to happen again. I try to stay on top of my sorting, but he has just learned a lesson in life.

During one of his computer sessions he made the mistake of opening up something. He responded to a PayPal message that turned out to be a scam. Many minutes later he realized something was not right. I dropped a bug in his ear after eavesdropping for a few minutes. It could have been a very costly mistake and hit on our bank account, but he suddenly realized what was happening. We beelined to our credit union praying a costly mistake hadn't happened. Thankfully the other had not realized my husband was no longer involved. Our bank was able to correct the monetary problem and all accounts were closed. Plus we had to take out computer to Best Buy to have them give us a clean bill of health to give to the bank. 5 days later and a few $$ we will get it back hoping to not lose a lot of info ie genealogy and photos ect. So be very careful when you answer your phones and open things on the computer. It will be a while before this is all straightened out.

Stressed yes but very thankful we have great people working at our bank. It definitely raised our blood pressures....Jerry is fine now, but I had to contact my dr. One thing lead to another, so I had to have more blood work done. And yes Sandy meds do affect the digestive system. I will get my blood work answers tomorrow.

Time to call it a night. Take care everyone.

I so agree DIANE be very careful with these plaguey machines, although scam phones are the biggest plague for me. My mobile gave up the ghost so for now I am relying on the land line. Slowly getting friends to leave a message and phone number on my answering machine because I no longer answer the ring. But the iPad can be a problem as well. I was trying to find the elusive bra online when the screen split in two. I couldn’t get it back to normal last night but have just managed to get back to normal now otherwise I wouldn’t be typing this. The two screens being too small to read even after enlarging. All sorts of stuff appeared on the left side with bras on the right. Going into settings finally worked but I’m from 1935 and 2023 takes some getting used to!!! Not the sharpest pencil in the pencil box!

LIN, Mike will be over as normal at the weekends because he works long hours. Plus the Ms are only away a few days. They just wanted a dose of sunshine and warmth after a long gloomy winter. I’ve asked Darren (my 40 year old neighbour from across the road who is my snow clearer)if he will pick me up if I fall whilst walking Jilly Bean. He looked me up and down and then said “I’ll TRY”. Cheeky, I’m not THAT big!

I’ll miss the Ms. Mark put all the garden waste out for todays garbage and fertilized my two lawns, and that’s super, but I’ll miss them because I love them and worry when they step on planes despite me working at an engine design office for 20 odd years here. Maybe that’s WHY I worry, lol. You know bird strikes etc. The engines are safe but birds and folk aren’t!

Hey oh. I’ve stepped on quite a few planes myself in the past without a care in the world, but I guess we moms are designed to worry about our loved ones.

Vacuuming throughout day for me. Oh, Darren tells me our new neighbours arrive mid May.

    Anne.

Heather’s funeral today which was very moving. Her daughter, who read the eulogy, was so upset it wasn’t easy to make out everything said but I still learnt more about her life before we got to know each other.
The cold weather continues so later I spent a bit of time in my greenhouse out of the wind and now the fire is lit and I’m relaxing but thinking an early night might be a good idea.

    Hi all,
Diane, yes as a native San Franciscan, I was sorry to see The City change. It was a great place growing up there, walking everywhere or taking the bus. Of course it was a different era then.
Anne, my girls are always after me with my social media….Mom, never go from email or text to a site. Close it out and if you need to, open it fresh. Otherwise, it could lead you to a scam site.
So busy morning…took Lori to airport as she is flying down to San Diego to spend the weekend with my other daughter, her daughter and my two adorable grandchildren. Then, Deb and I went to Costco for gas, to grocery store, to Walgreens for script, to car wash and then here to relax.
Jackie, glad you got some greenhouse time in and fireside!

:) I enjoyed all my walking today but it was too cold for me to want to work on my yard projects. Spent time in the house riding my exercise bike and knitting a blanket that is almost finished. My knitting is for Project Linus so there is no deadline for when to finish.

:) Several of my neighbors have complained that spring is so late this year, but when I looked at the empty package from the zucchini seeds I planted last year, I saw that I had planted them on June 8 which is much later than the commonly accepted date of just after Mothers' Day. I just have to be patient. It will be yard weather soon enough.

Good evening. A cold day here with added strong breezes. Even some little ice balls for precipitation since rain wouldn’t be enough. 😉

Okay, I spent lots of time on the phone again today. A friend called twice and we had extended conversations both times. I think she was trying to avoid all housework. She and her husband had plans with one of their sons this evening. Unfortunately, he is ill. He thinks it is just a cold but they want to avoid even a cold! Her husband has doctors’ appointments early next week with a number of tests as a follow up to his cancer treatment.

Joy, I am glad there was no evidence of an additional spinal fracture. It sounds as if today has been a busy one. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.

Jackie, oh my, the funeral sounds very touching. It was kind of you to attend. I hope you are getting a good night’s sleep.

Anne, I am glad Michael will be seeing you tomorrow. Enjoy your time together. I spent quite a bit of time getting my Mac laptop up to date and the my iPads as well. I had no WiFi connection this morning. Thankfully, I got that straightened out. Yippee!

Diane, my blood pressure would have been in the stratosphere if something like that happened here. How dreadful. I am glad you have good folks at your credit union who took immediate action!

Barbie, indoor projects are a good thing to have handy. The weather is quite unpredictable. Enjoy!

    Take care everyone.
