Cindy - I had to laugh about your daughter getting jealous. I used to tease my kids that I loved my dogs more than them because the dogs never talked back. I hope your knee is starting to feel better.

Hey Ms. S - we are not football fans so the girls and I will go shopping as the stores are deserted during the game.

I'll second Ms. S on everyone having a good weekend!

I don't know how to create a post on here since I'm new to MyFitnessPal so I will just say hello from here. My name is Karen. I am 51 years old and live in California. My partner, Stacy or as she goes by on here Staceem's and I have two little fur babies, Beary a 5 year old Dachshund and Diva Marie a long haired Calico cat. Thank you for having me in your group. I have 177 lbs to lose. I am 5'2 in height and started out weighing 317 lbs. That's the heaviest I've ever been.

I was on another weight loss site for about 9 years and lost 60 lbs and gained it all back and more. This site gives me a more reasonable calorie intake and taking it slow with baby steps for weight loss. The other site had me starting out at 1500 calories and I was way too hungry.

I have PCOS so it makes it more difficult for me to lose but not impossible. I am disabled and have Fibromyalgia and Arthralgia a long with a bunch of other things so exercise isn't happening right at this moment but I know it will come too.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

    Karen

Hi Karen, welcome. I'm Liz. I am glad to meet you. I started at 292 and am down to 246. I still have a long way to go (165) though I dream about 148-153. This is a great group, the ladies here are so nice and caring, funny too. Where in CO did you live? I was raised in Denver and I call the North Eastern Plains (Brush) home. We have been in the Midwest for the last 12 years (MN now). I'm looking forward to getting to know you :)

Good morning Ladies! Thanks for the Invite Cindy and for helping me through yesterday. While I didn't binge into the thousand I did go over by 600. I'm a binge (emotional) eater and while normally I can keep them to small binges under 1,000 there has been those scary times of going from one fast food restaurant to another and buying whatever I wanted.

If anyone has ideas on how to stop a binge please let me know. I've tried mindful eating, meditation, journaling. Yesterday after it was over I watched my recorded Joyce Myers and she hit right on with what I was going through so it helped a little.

Thank you Megan, where in Ca do you live? I live in Southern CA , Redlands area to be exact. :) I do love the beach though. Stacy and I are renting an Apartment right now and will renew our lease for another year come May but after that we are trying to figure out where to move next. I love the Beach and don't want to live in the snow again (beautiful but It's too much for me now) and Stacy has Reynaud's Syndrome and is always cold so we cannot move anywhere too cold. We may stay in Ca but move to Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo area.

Liz; Congrats on your weight loss!! I lived in Colorado Springs and then in Cripple Creek Co where I owned a restaurant, a Bistro out of a huge old Victorian home. I love to cook and bake. My Grandfather was a baker and had his own Bakery so it runs in the family. Problem is I like to eat what I cook and bake too. LOL, I'm working on creating a cookbook, some recipes light some not so light.

Alice; Hello and nice to meet you :) I hope that's how I would say your nic on here?

Hoping you ladies have a wonderful food and exercise day and stick to your goals.

I'm not a Football Fan but we are having a few friends over and my gf has decorated the house with a bunch of Super Bowl banners and bought some fake grass coasters and foot ball snack trays. She's so cute how she's getting into this Super Bowl so much. We are making Taco cups and the recipe is on the Hungry girl site. You take those small taco cups and put refried beans cheese, lettuce tomato and even pulled pork if you have it. Only 50 calories I believe per cup.

Were having a 'Mexican' spicy food theme so I'm also cutting rounds of cucumber and mixing cream cheese in a blender with green chili's and topping the cucumbers with the cream cheese mixture then topping with a black olive and a tooth pic to hold it all together,

also green olive and topped a cubed piece of cheddar cheese,

then my home made chicken enchilada's,

    carrot and celery sticks,

    chips and dip.

It's going to be hard for me to control myself tomorrow but I'm making cards with calorie's listed on the cards and placing it right next to the food item so everyone knows how many calories they are eating per serving.

We are also semi fasting before guests arrive so that we can eat more of game food and stay within our calorie range. :)

Quick update..we still have power for now...we have a little over 2 feet of snow already and it's coming down between 2-4" per hour! I went out to shovel at 8 AM and you could hardly see the cars...the wind drifts are a few feet tall. They have declared a state of emergency in our state. I'm really bummed because I won't get much walking in however, I will be doing a lot of shoveling. Thanks for all your well wishes my friends!
I hope you are all having a FAB_U_LOSS day my friends!!!!
This was my driveway at 8 AM

    Karen,
Cripple Creek is a beautiful area. We lived in the Springs until I was 6. My dad used to take us on Sunday drives up Gold Camp road. I too love to cook. Hungry Girl is awesome. It sounds like you and Stacy are going to have a lovely gathering tomorrow. I don't know if it will help but I broke my habit of going through the drive through by telling myself, yeah I could go through it, but I had to order a salad only. After five or six crappy salads, that I spent way to much on, I stopped driving through.

I hope everyone has an awesome day!

Liz; Yes Cripple Creek is beautiful. That was before they allowed gambling and casino's in the town. I lived in Colorado Springs for years, I attended Air Academy High School.

About Drive-Thru fast foods, I know now what I can get and cannot get at each place lol. Examples if going through a Wendy's I opt for a Chili. Low in Calories and lots of protein. All fast food and Restaurants are high in sodium so that's just going to happen if you are eating out.

Jack in the Box; Chicken Fajita Pita, just ask for no sauce or salsa on the side and no cheese.

Del Taco; they make great chicken bowls with beans and rice that are low calorie and YUM
