Hi Alice, I started to figure out the food /travel stuff about midway through the trip. My biggest victory was bringing a big salad to share at a Super Bowl pizza party. I was surprised how many people thanked me. I guess I'm not the only middle aged educator who's trying to eat more healthily!
Tracking my food was harder than I thought. That's what I want to work on for my next trip.
What's the reason for your Msrch through June travel??0 -

She was an amazing person who made the most of a hard life with love, laughter, and grace. When I think of her, I remind myself to live well and make the most of my life as she did with hers and count my blessings. Hang in there
Thanks Mystic, so true it is a reminder that we're still here.0 -
Hi Barlovo. Last year I focused on only one of our sites at work due to a merger. This year I am going to all sites and during these first quarters I am launching a pilot leadership and self mastery programme. My contract ends in August with the client, and I want to ensure that what is lewve behind is adopted and implemented.
By the way congratulations on your learnings. I do think more and people crave healthy foods but are used to the convenience of processed foods.0 -
They are predicting up to another 18' of snow over the next few days!! UGH!!! I have NO WHERE to put any more snow!!! Here is a pi of hubby trying to clear our mailbox so we can get mail...he is 6' 4" tall the snow is past his waist!!
MdwstQT~I have been thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way…I hope they get to you soon!
Noodle~ Awww...thanks for the kind words! Too bad I can’t become 10 yrs younger lol! My fingers are doing better…only ended up with one blister so not as bad as it could have been. Sorry things have been so hectic for you at work…we have missed you!
Megan~ Make sure you take care of yourself...we have missed you too but want you to be better! Thanks for the tip about the exercise points…I will try to put 50% back in…and see how it goes!
Aalice~ I do not give myself a full day break…but I do take a couple days here and there that I only do my walking as opposed to the walking and full workouts. I also make sure to allow myself a treat occasionally as long as it doesn’t put me over my calorie allowance. Last week Kyli and I made brownies and I had one. But I don’t want to have “cheat” days until this lifestyle is more habitual for me.
Barlovo~ KUDOS to you on your Super bowl victory! Bringing a healthy food… I think of when my kids had parties at school and I would always make a healthy snack that was still cute to go along with their theme such as Valentine’s day or Halloween and the kids would almost ALWAYS scarf down the healthy snack first…it truly astonished me at first..but I do it at work now too and it is the same here! I hope the travel gets easier for you! Do you travel a lot for work? I am going for a week at the end of April for my job! UGH I hate it!
Aaliceinw~ Do you also travel a lot for work regularly?
Have a FAB_U_LOSS day my friends!!

Sorry about the size of the pics...I don't know how to size them!0

Cindy - Four years ago we got 89 inches of snowfall for the year and it looked like that from Dec to the beginning of April. The piles from shoveling and plowing were massive. The city, county, and businesses paid to have the snow trucked out and dumped. I was never so grateful that we were renting and the management company took care of it. Hang in there, we are in Feb. now, only 21 days, March, and April to go. Your finger looks nasty, I am glad it isn't were you bend it though.
Noodle, Ms. S, QT, Alice, barlovo, and Karen - I hope you all have an awesome day!0 -
Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing great. I have to be honest I am not posting much in here because I'm trying to get use to this site. I don't like that you cannot click like on someone's post on here except for the food journals and in order to post you either have to name the person or read a whole bunch of posts before you can comment here and its all confusing for me and time consuming right now. If there is an easier way to navigate through this group please let me know.0

Cindy that sure is a lot is snow! Here was me silently cursing during this mornings run. Because it was very, very hot at 8:00am. Your finger looks like it is healing cleanly but thT must have been so sore.
As a consultant, yes I normally travel a lot. The last two years hadn't been so bad but this year I have lots of catch up. I hope you have a lovely weekend planned?
Hi Mysticlizard. I hope you are having a great weekend.
Karen, I agree that it is very frustrating to navigate around this site and the notifications are not the best either. Enjoy your day.0 -
Liz~ That's the issue we are having...there is no where to truck it to...everyone is overloaded! LOL I too was grateful the burn wasn't on the knuckle...That would have taken much longer to heal!
Karen~ I LOVE your avatar! So nice to see your BEAUTIFUL face! I'm sorry you aren't enjoying the group. I know there are a lot of discussions going on, but that actually helps keep things organized. I think it makes things easier.
aaliceinw~ I wish there were a way to share my snow...it wold definitely cool you off! KUDOS to you for still going to your park run even with the heat! Give yourself a BIG HUG!!! Yes, I have been fortunate no infection has set in with my burns...I have been very careful to keep them clean.
The rest of my L.O.S.T. friends...hope you are having a FAB_U_LOSS day my friends!!!0 -
Cindy; I enjoy the group and posts, I just don't enjoy figuring out how to navigate0
-
That picture of me was about 4 years ago and 60 pounds smaller0
-
I really love having a face to go with the name I'm talking to. Thank you for sharing yours!0
-
Karen~do you come on mfp with your phone more often or a computer more often? I find it very easy to navigate the website....not as easy with the APP...

Karen and Cindy
I'm agree the computer is easier but o usually am on my phone.
Alice: your work sounds so interesting. It will be great to hear about all your travels!
Cindy: stay warm!! And send some snow to California too! We need it...0 -
I also find the navigation easier with the desktop but the apps have some additional features like the nutrients, which I find useful.
I'm known as the flower lady on the other social media sites because I take so many photos of the flowers in my garden. I do post my face from time to time but it is very rare.
It is interesting because I meet new people everyday and sometimes find myself in unexpected situations. I.e. I have workshopped in the bush, under the trees a couple of times, with toilets in nature and no building in sight. When we come with all our fancy equipment and the people want to be heard and want to understand you, being creative and innovative are the key competencies required Barlovo0 -
Wow, that's a lot of snow!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Thanks for the well wishes, I'm doing better.
Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 60s, which can change in a heartbeat. If it is nice I'm going to go on a long walk. I think it'll do me good.0 -
Enjoy your walk MdwstQT0

Barlovo~ I would so LOVE to be able to share some of my snow with you! The next thing we are going to have to be concerned with from all this snow is flooding once it starts to melt. I have often wondered with all the modern technologies we have...why someone hasn't tried coming up with a way for us to share such resources. Our part of the country has been flooded when other parts of the country have massive droughts and wild fires going on...we send people into space...it can't be THAT impossible!!!
aaliceinw~ I was not aware that the APP had any features that were not available on the website. I will have to investigate navigating the APP a little more! What are the seasons like where you are? You mentioned it being summer there now...we are obviously in winter here. Do you get snow in your winter? Or are you in a climate that is always warm?
MdwstQT~ I hope you have a wonderfully peaceful walk!!! Do you have a forest or anyplace to go hiking in the quiet...I find hiking incredibly peaceful! (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) to you!
Have a FAB_U_LOSS day my friends!!!

Hello ladies! Today is my birthday & I'm going to the casino to play bingo & eat shrimp for brunch. I haven't had a single shrimp since i started this and I'm so excited! I'm going to try not to go crazy at the brunch buffet, but I'm not skimping on the shrimp. Did I mention I love shrimp? lol! I had a brutal resistance training session in the pool last night & leaving to do laps in a minute, hopefully it'll balance out the calories!
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great weekend.0 -
noodle797, Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy the shrimp!!!!!0

Happy Birthday Noodle!!! Enjoy the shrimp, buffet, and the shrimp0

Good Morning everyone. At least it's morning here in Sunny Southern California.
Cindy; I have both but find it much easier to navigate using my PC instead of my IPhone. I'm slowly learning my way around these parts. Before you know it I will be feeling silly for my comment
I'm not having a good start to my morning. I'm trying hard not to let it get to me but I gained 1.2 lbs this week instead of losing. One thing I did consistently last week was drank 1 cup of green tea daily and this week I didn't do that. Hmmm. I know I went over a few days but I did last week too and still lost weight. I don't have a period anymore so I cannot blame it on that. Guess I better go over my logs and see what I'm doing wrong.
Happy Birthday Noodle!!!!

Happy Birthday noodle .....Enjoy your shrimp and have fun at the casino0

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOODLE
And Happy Shrimp Day too!
Karen, don't sweat it! You can do the exact same thing from one week to the next and lose or gain or stay the same. The most important thing is that over the longer period we are losing weight. Also if you do gain, workout more the next day if you know that it is due to overindulgence. Check your diet and make sure you are eating at least close to your calorie goals (otherwise you gain weight). Hope tomorrow is better for you.0 -
We got snow in 2012, which for many people in Johannesburg was a first in their lifetime Cindy. It hadn't snowed like that for 40 years. It's a hot climate generally and a cool, sunny climate in winter.0

Thanks. I know weight fluctuates so I won't let this get me down. My constant dry mouth is really bugging the heck out of me though. I drink plenty.0 -
Happy Birthday Noodle!!!!! Enjoy yourself!
Cindy, there are several trails in my area. I had a great walk today, the weather was so nice. I can't wait for warmer weather to really get here.
Karen, don't stress yourself too much. This is a start of a new week!
