Lost another 1/2" off my waist, bringing it to just under 35"!! I knew I could feel it!

Another that I've noticed is I don't create a big wave when getting out of the bath anymore!
    Yay! Those are great NSV's!

For me - today I was able to wear a shirt I have been waiting to have fit me. Nice change of scenery to be able to wear something new that is a smaller size!

I used a load of different body fat calculators and based on tape measure results I get values varying from 24-26% bodyfat, so on the borderline between 'acceptable' and 'fit' - considering that I am barely out of the obese category based on height/weight alone this puts me a long way below the %fat levels classed as obese

My karate team mates have started to notice how much weight I have lost (I'm down 2 gi sizes in 6 months) but more impressively, even people in my swimming group have started to notice, despite the fact that I still think my belly and thighs are HUGE!

Another PR running distance for me yesterday: 11 miles, at a 10:22/mi average pace. I'm doing a 15K (9.3 mile) race on Oct. 31st. Did the same race last year, so hoping to beat my previous time. Definitely have the distance down, so just working on speed now.

There's a half marathon the following weekend that I'm seriously considering. May wait and see how the next couple weeks go before I make a final decision on registering...

Great running! If you can do 11 miles now you will definitely cope with a half marathon next month. Go for it :)

I thank God for another huge barrier and milestone passed last Saturday.

    I am at 199.5 lbs. I think they call this, One-derland. one-derfull!

    ezzdmmlg7bj2.jpg

The last time I weighed below 200 was in 1986 when I had a bet with a friend to see who could get to 200 lbs first. We both weighed 240 at that time. I had gained 60 lbs from high school (1975). It was my first of 4 major diets I have done in the last 29 years. It was a low fat diet. I remember that the day I hit 200 ~ I immediately stopped doing the diet because I was so damn hungry all the time. And I gained it all back in the subsequent months. And I added back more than when I started (you know the routine).

BTW. I won the bet by one pound. My friend took us out to eat a steak dinner with our wives.

I have at least two more goals, the next goal is to weigh 179 lbs by Christmas.

    I hope this helps,

Happy out"weighs" the sad. I have 3 bags of clothes in the car to go to Goodwill. I have a beautiful shirt that's "weigh" too big that I only wore once and a coat I bought last year for winter that I've never worn. Oh well, more shopping for me!!!!

Weird one today... I have pelvic floor dysfunction (POP, specifically), and I've been undergoing physical therapy. Apparently the exercises have been at least somewhat successful, because I had a random coughing fit that was quite explosive this morning, and somehow, I managed not to ... pee on myself from the force of the cough, while I was focusing on not choking down the mouthful of breakfast I'd just taken. I can't recall this happening anytime in the last 15+ years, so I'm still not sure what to think...because I still felt like I'd gone accidentally...

I now have to ask for my senior discount more often. Not sure that I look younger but it may be because I move and get around better due to losing pain and weight.

The ability to fast on purpose is a non-scale victory for sure. I am doing my first intentional fast that does not include BPC to tide me over. I skipped lunch in favor of a quick (10-minute) workout in my office followed by visiting with a coworker while she ate Raising Cane's right in front of me. I'm not going to lie--her food looked and smelled awesome. But I will not cave in. I didn't even bring "just in case" food to the office today. Sure, there's a deli downstairs and I've got a five dollar bill in my purse, but who has time for all that?

I'm smiling so big right now. I made ***gasp*** cinnamon rolls the other day at home for "lunch" for my guy while fasting. If that didn't break me....! But, unlike you, D, I am not brave enough to leave my emergency food at home. I've discovered that there isn't much quick and dirty I can grab close by in an emergency (I have a dollar general a 5 minute walk away, but they don't even have cream cheese or decent lunchmeat and stuff... And all the pickles have sugars added, etc.). Every day I trudge my emergency food to work, and every day I take it home. Tomorrow will be the end of my third week doing this...and I'm still in prep mode...

Second notch on the bra strap - first time ever! And size 16 (UK) work trousers (pants) - they're a wee bit tight round the middle (flamin' belly won't budge), but I feel good - haven't worn size 16 for years and years. Here's hoping they get a bit looser round the middle.

I love reading NSVs - helps keep me positive in month 9 of the long haul weight loss project.

But bringing that emergency food back home--that's a NSV! I've only eaten at the deli downstairs a few times, and they just changed owners this week, but I've gotten salads with grilled chicken and bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon or sausage, and tuna salad in a cup. I don't stress about hidden carbs as much as a lot of people do, I suppose. I just pick the best available option and go with it. :)

Also, great job not eating the cinnamon rolls!!!

Another NSV: I had a pretty big disappointment yesterday (those on my friend list probably saw my update), and I did not stress eat!!!

1: I was walking through a Stew Leonard's the other day (not sure if anyone not in this tristate will know that one, but they're a "Farm Fresh Market"), and the smell of apple cinnamon EVERYTHING was in the air. I realized that just because something smells delicious does not mean I have to put it in my mouth. And conversely, just because I can't eat it doesn't mean I can't enjoy the smell! What a revelation!

2: Someone was talking about french fries yesterday and I realized I have no desire for them anymore.

3: Mom is joining my husband and me on this WoE to try it for the next month! She has Fibro and IBS and I REALLY hope this helps her! I believe she's starting with lunch today. We offered to do grocery shopping and cooking for the meals but she's joining us midweek so we have to dance around a bit to figure out what she'll eat. Tonight: Shrimp Scampi, her favorite, with zoodles!

I really, really, REALLY wanted something sweet after dinner last night, but I distracted myself and have a near spotless kitchen now... Does that count?

And I say not stress eating is an awesome trend to start! I do okay about 85% of the time now... My former life's success rate used to be like 15-20% success, as point of reference....

    1. That is so so exciting on all of them... Just as the enjoying the smell without enjoying the food bit - "I am not a garbage can," was a big one for me!
    2. I still have a dreams and yearnings for French fries, but my former love affair with ketchup is mostly over, except in very tiny doses mixed with other things...but I can actually eat just one or two! LOL
    3. And this is my favorite!!!! So excited for your mom... Good luck figuring out her niggles. :)

we have "customer service week" at work this week. They decided to reward us with food everyday... Monday was candy, Tuesday was Bagels, Wednesday was "dessert day" (cookies and the like), Today (thursday) is ice cream party, and Friday is the concession stand (Hot dogs, Soda and Popcorn)...I have not had any of the treats and have stuck to my plan all week... and i plan on not indulging either today or tomorrow...

I had not realized how my gaining weight affected my shoe comfort. It has been so long that I have fit into my 3 inch heels. I thought I had stopped wearing them because of a knee injury. Not so, my feet got fat with the rest of me.

Well now that I could fit in my pretty high heels, I am not sure I want to add stress to my ankles, knees, hips and back.

For the first time in my life, I have purchased 2 pairs of Clark's shoes. They are so comfortable, it is amazing. It gives me the sense that I am finally willing to care for myself.

I was handed two squares of delicious, high quality milk chocolate yesterday. Didn't eat them. I need to figure out who to give them to, because the Man is keto-ing now as well. Both of us decided, no 'cheating' until there is a weight loss of at least 20 lb for him and 15 lb for me, so I am not even considering putting that chocolate in my mouth.

I am no longer overweight! At least for today. But I have dropped 20 lbs without constantly counting calories or feeling hungry. On the days I go to work, I skip breakfast and I'm totally fine without food. My migraines have lessened in frequency and severity.

Yes! When I reached out to you a while back it was to arm myself with motivation for her. It took a LONG time for her to come around to it, but she was NOT poo-pooing the shrimp scampi and zoodles last night! She had dark chocolate and decaf coffee with light cream instead of frozen yogurt for dessert.

Thanks! The biggest niggle is just that she isn't quite to the point of trusting all this fat, and she doesn't like cheddar! I can work with that! I thought she was a much pickier eater than that, but I think it might just be a result of my dad overcooking everything because HIS favorite food is carbon.

Guess who can wear her high school class ring again? :D I can also wear my bridal set and it fits even with the finger swelling. Talk about motivation to stay on track on vacation. Yeah baby, this chick ain't gonna cheat now fo' sure!
