Hi i'm new here, just started low carb. The initial fluid loss was huge 12lbs ish, with a gradual lowering of carbs.
My third weigh in was .5lb. but i wasn't dismayed i was overjoyed because of my nsv!!
my Non scale victory is i can tense my stomach and i feel like a huge pillow has been removed from my middle i can walk without waddling and my hips feel freer it's odd and great, i can roll my belly's. simple things please simple minds.7 -
Laying on the couch last night on my back, which I don't do often, while watching Game of Thrones, I looked down and realized.... I couldn't see my belly! I saw breasts and thighs. Normally my belly is visible in that position! Whee!13

@daylitemag - they have the spacer things that you can put inside your ring to "resize" it temporarily. They're pretty inexpensive, and most jewelry counters/stores carry them.2 -
I tried on some clothes today that I had ordered from a catalogue and I need to send them all back as they are too big
Apart from that I feel great in myself and people keep telling me how well I look.
I have that amazing feeling that comes from treating yourself with respect, kindness and my confidence and self esteem are increasing every day.
All in all, I'm doing good!5 -

Thank you. I may check that out.0 -

One thing that isn't always mentioned is the effect of the keto diet on mood. That was actually a big factor for me as I was looking for natural ways to lift depression when I discovered LCHF. I believe it has done wonders for me and helped me to recover from some serious personal losses. So weight loss was just a very welcome side effect for me as my health had not really suffered up to that point. Although as I write that, realizing how much better I feel now, I wasn't really aware of how my health had deteriorated.
I guess the saying you don't know what you got till its gone isn't just about good things. lol8 -
I've been reluctant to wear my wedding rings because of the fear of losing them (I'm an RN, and I have heard of other nurses losing their rings when hand washing so much!) at work! I don't want to have them sized until I achieve my goal weight, and maintain it for a while. I had bought a cheapo band to wear, but it was just that, cheap, and didn't last long!1

Ha! I slid into a pair of my dad's shoes that had been too tight - without a shoehorn, grease, OR duct tape.4

Some of my Non Scale Victories:
* having co-workers notice my weight loss (15 lbs)
* more energy, though that could be attributed to working out a lot more
* feeling how baggy my leggings are - they're supposed to be snug and they're almost falling off!!!
* having my boyfriend's sincere support, admiration, and help
* I'm learning to like different foods. I started out doing calorie counting and that wasn't as effective as I wanted, so switched to low carb which is a whole new way of thinking & eating. I love it!3 -

A bit off-topic, but I once went to several shoe stores in a local mall and asked if they had shoehorns. Not a single one of the employees I asked even knew what a shoehorn was! I was mortified. (This was about 20 years ago in a small town.)3 -
I survived for a whole 10 minutes on a stairmaster, followed by 10 grueling minutes on an elliptical without rest breaks.10

I had was in a waiting room the other day and just sat right down between two ppl without worrying that I might not fit. Normally that would have a been a situation that causes me a lot of anxiety. I don't think skinny people would understand that panicky feeling fat ppl get when they walk into a waiting room and realize there's nowhere to easily sit down. I won't ever forget that feeling and I'm so very grateful that I can now "fit"17

I wore a bikini last Sunday!19

I so get where you're coming from on that one! I stopped going to restaurants because I was nervous the tables and chairs would be too close together and I would struggle to squeeze around when walking to my table or that I wouldn't be able to push my chair out far enough to stand back up after my meal. I still need to lose a lot of weight, but many of those type of fears have already been eliminated with the weight I've lost so far.9 -

@vinegar_husbands
This gives me a lot of hope!! I lost so much hair before being diagnosed with hypothyroidism - I actually went to the dr in the first instance as I thought I had alopecia, this was after I had been to the hairdressers and the junior who washed my hair called the manager over in alarm as so much hair came out she thought she had done something to it!! Hoping mine will come back like yours!!

Two of the guys in my department have seen my results and have started doing low carb. After a month they are still sticking to. Chad started because of medical issues and has seen his blood pressure and sugar go back into normal. This really makes me feel great. Now if only my sister would give it a shot. (She could NEVER give up potatoes... )-:8

Going to have to buy a new belt soon, on the last notch of the belt I have had for about 2 years now. Inches are dropping as well as the weight!6

I can do 40 minutes on an elliptical now.
Also, I hit my mini goal! 250 this morning, even with TOM due. I haven't seen 250 in 7 years.6 -
@panda_poptarts congrats! I couldn't do 40 of anything.
@fvaisey that is fantastic! You might have actually saved someone's life. Sounds dramatic I know, but it's possible.2 -
I helped my daughter make cookies for her class yesterday and did not cheat. I tasted a teeny, tiny amount of dough to make sure it was alright and it tasted like pure sugar. I had no desire to have any more. I'm so glad I don't do sugar anymore. One year ago I would have had a two day cookie bender.5

I can feel my collarbone. At certain angles, there's this beautiful shadow where my collarbone may be visible one day. I have this mild obsession with seeing my collarbone, so feeling it so clearly... I feel pretty sexy6
