No medications, no exogenous hormones. All natural.
That's wonderful! Congratulations!2 -

Hang in there. I went down first in band size I did go from F to DDD and I tried some DDs that also fit well. I went with the DDD, because that will be the first place I regain any weight. I was so excited to drop a cup size. I've dropped band size on other diets, but never the cup.1 -

I don't hold up much hope as when I met my husband about 20 years ago I was at my thinnest ever and I was a 32 wait for it yes F!! Still with my family history of BC I'm just happy to have them and that I'm still okay (hopefully!)0 -
There was a snappy seersucker suit in there that I had forgotten about. There was a camel hair sport coat. These were things bought 25 - 30 years ago, and in what is probably a sad commentary on my wardrobe, they are exactly the same sorts of things I would wear today. Not sad! All classics!
Congratulations!!2 -
@LolaDeeDaisy23 that is so awesome! Congratulations and good on you for sticking with it. I bet you are over the moon!2

I started keto a week ago for the second time. The first time, I reversed my type 2 diabetes in two months, and even after falling off the wagon, it took 6 months for the diabetes to catch up with me again.
Long story short, this time I found myself without health insurance and no way to pay for the insulin and victoza which weren't even properly controlling my blood sugar. After almost three months of readings 300+ (many that couldn't even be read by my meter, which *only* reads to 499), I found myself making sure my kids knew what to do if they couldn't wake me up and decided that enough was enough. I am 7 days in today. My cravings are easily dealt with, and while my blood sugar is still high, it has started with a 1 for the past 3 days!14 -

Keto was like a miracle drug for my glucose readings. I hope yours come back down quickly.

I have noticed I don't have a lot of joint pain since eating this way too.6

Just an FYI for the bra sizes.... https://anita.com/blog/en_global/2016/09/27/do-cup-sizes-stay-the-same-throughout-the-back-size/In talking with my teenage daughters recently I realised that there is a little confusion out there about cup sizes and how they change as you go up and down the back size chart. I dare say that most men also suffer from this misconception. The confusion seems to lay in the cup size, for example ‘Is a C cup in a 32C different to a C cup in a 38C?’
The answer is yes. As the Bra band size (the numbers) increases so does the cup as it naturally gets wider to sit properly on the band. (Otherwise you would end up with two tiny cups that only covered the front of the breast). So if you wear a 32C and your Mum wears a 36C then her bra, her cup sizes and her breasts will be larger than yours. It’s all dependent on the back (band) size. Hope that clears this up…
So yes, even if the cup designation letter stays the same, if your band size drops, your breasts will be smaller too.4 -
Yesterday in church, there was a family back. I had not seen them for a couple of years. The father asked where the former priest went. I said, "Padre Juan retired and lives in town." The man said, "No, I mean the one after Padre Juan - he was a big man and shorter than you." I told him I was the one who had been there since Padre Juan's retirement. He said he did not even recognize me with the weight loss.4

I noticed yesterday that my ankles looked skinny got all these weird tendons sticking out and dents in my feet and hands these daysLolaDeeDaisy23 wrote: »So I started my keto journey 3 years ago because I was diagnosed with PCOS. Aw I got all teary eyed reading that - well done to you guys!
And a couple of my own - my tummy fat is all squishy again which happens before it disappears - usually takes a few days but it’s going to be good timing as I’m off on Holiday to Spain in a few weeks!
I also keep noticing that my body feels different, for instance I’m sitting and my arm is resting on my hip bone.
Annnndd I squatted 110kg this week and then finished my legs workout and went for a run - my legs are still hurting a few days later but I love how strong my body is getting. Out for another run today - new week in the C25k and I’m actually looking forward to it!6 -

I went out of town this weekend... Usually being on vacation will get me off track and a small cheat will turn in to a big one. Well, I sat around and watched the people I was with eat all sorts of delicious looking carbs and I did not cheat! It took a lot of willpower to do it for 4 days, but i did it!!13
-
Yesterday my only cheats were having more wine than one "should" have when low carb, and a cup of mixed berries topped with homemade whipped cream that someone brought. I wasn't even tempted to touch the chips and crackers!7

I have to share...I went on vacation in the foothillls of Virginia. Did some hiking, and some more hiking. I was amazed at the energy I had. And best of all, I stayed with low carb through the 5 days and when I weighed today, I had lost 1.2 pounds, while on vacation. I am 😃!9

@amdev23_23 I am reading more and more post like yours. While I have been eating less than 50 grams of carbs most days for four years I still remember what delicious carbs taste like but the NSV's helps me not to reach out and touch them.
One NSV of mine is just coming out from my annual labs and medical exam. I am Rx med free at the age of 67 and the doctor said she saw no red flags coming my way based on my health trend of the past four years. Well she did say eat a little more salt.
One NSV was last night I got the heavy bush hog mower mounted to the tractor by myself.
Another NSV is the work I have doing to get a 70 year old tractor running that I bought a few weeks ago with a blown engine. It is a 1948 Model B Allis Chalmers tractor like I played on when I was 3 and started driving when I was 5.
A real eye opener is how a mix of oil and or antifreeze can be over 70 years if it becomes a high acid mix of chemicals. I had the same thing going on inside my body so to speak when on my old Way Of Eating (WOE). Not sure why carbs fed my arthritis inflammation so for the past 40 years but going LCHF four years ago cutting out all foods containing added sugars and or any form of any grain is giving me hope of seeing grandkids and even great grandkids someday. Our kids turn 21 next month and at one point I was not sure I would live to see that milestone.
The Non Scale Victories can be many. The weight loss that came automatically with my new WOE is one of the more minor victories I see that I now really as mainly focus on eating in a way to increase the health and count of my mitochondria. Most all disease and premature death is related to our mitochondria failing to provide the energy we need to live a long and health life it seems in a medical sense.
Yes I am very glad to have found a WOE that removes the risk of being and staying obese in my case but it is the many new NSV's that is helping make my life worth living now. The kids can see the changes in the quality of my life and they know what I stopped doing to reverse my rapid health decline. My health is actually better at 67 than it was at 47 or even 37. The funny part when I stopped listening to others and started to listen to what my body was trying to tell me about how to eat was when my real success started.
Best of continued success to everyone.9 -
Sunday I wore a pair of jeans that I haven't had on in a while...I just bought them in March and they were super snug...now they are baggy and I had to keep pulling them up...I can take them off without undoing any of the buttons...it's awesome to be smaller, but I am so not shopping for more jeans.12

I'm going to throw away a not empty insulin vial
Insulin is only good for 28/30 days & there will still be some in it.
To think I was using 5 vials a month not too long ago.

30 days is the official answer they have to give, but keeping it cold will extend that. I go through insulin way too fast to matter and always keep my open vial with my meter that comes when I go anywhere outside of town (so it is not in the fridge). But my cat's insulin (he uses cheap old fashioned human NPH) has been open and in the fridge for months and is still good. But he only uses so much less than me.
My insulin is usually in my insulin pump, which is refilled every 4-5 days. But technically, the insulin I take (Apidra) is only supposed to be kept outside of its original container (such as in my insulin pump reservoir) for 48 hours based on FDA approvals. Once again, there is a bit of difference between what the pharmaceutical tells me to do and what I really do.
This is something you will need to make your own judgement about. If it becomes where you are wasting a lot of insulin, you might consider switching to pens instead.1 -

yeah! Well done re the reduction, both weight and insulin!1 -
My Fitbit was flopping around on my wrist. Taking up a notch on the band sure felt good.9

I was surprised this weekend to go shopping and find that I fit perfectly into a size 4 pant, but I was even more shocked that I also fit into also fit into a size 4 top! I can't even remember fitting into a size 4 top since...ever! TBH wasn't sure it was even possible.
But what makes me the happiest is eating healthier and being happy and satisfied with my diet and not having to feel deprived or starved to see results, that's the real victory. I don't even have to count calories, log my food religiously, or kill myself with cardio. Its almost effortless, I wish I had gone low carb years ago.9 -
One of the reasons that I have chosen keto/carnivore is my family history of T2D. I figure that as long as I can keep the BG numbers down, I shouldn't have an issue. I do track my BG numbers like today where I had a reading of 67 3 hours after a breakfast of eggs, ham and cheese.5

I have been holding steady with the weight since July. My watch had to have a link taken out yesterday because it was too loose on my wrist.8 -
We haven't managed to lose any weight lately, actually up a bit from 12 months ago.
But we saw our endocrinologist yesterday, and bloodwork was all perfect! A1C, cholesterol, kidney function, etc etc, even blood pressure was all perfect. The doc was super pleased with all those results and so are we.12
