Spring "Cleanse" - A 33 Day Tribute to Pie, Peeps and Cadbury Creme Eggs

Day 1: In honor of π day, I had "home made" chocolate cream pie. Really, it was only assembled here - Jello pudding in a Kroger graham cracker crust, topped with canned whipped cream. But who cares, it was still yummy. I also made a banana pie (same strategy, only vanilla pudding + bananas in the crust) and bought a store-bakery blackberry pie. Those will be devoured over the next few days. (I do have 5 kids and a husband, so I won't be eating it all myself.)0

Elaine, I heart you and your writing style.
MrM that banana custard pie looks incredible. Biscuits though? Hmmm.
Karen, my pie tasted amazing but it was super runny. I also made it with fresh berries (blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries) and I wondered if I might have put too much sugar or something to make it so liquidy on the inside. I'm not sure what went wrong with my dough that made it all melty either. But my friend who doesn't like sweets asked if she could keep some of the leftovers so I guess that's pretty high praise.0 -

Top the berries with a little corn startch before putting the top crust on. If they do get runny the starch will "gel" up the juices a bit. But even still...runny just means more juices to mix with the melting ice cream on top!
Today's a busy day...may just have to go with leftover pie today or I do still have one serving of gelato left. I'll try to get more creative later in the week!0 -

Yeah my grandma always did this (or sometimes flour) when she made apple pies.0 -

In. Had a piece of Edward's key lime pie yesterday in honor of Pi Day.
(Edit: for those who aren't familiar, Edward's is a brand, not a person. I promise you I did not steal pie from some dude named Edward.)0 -

OMG! I'm struggling on day 2! I just had a glorious "winner, winner, chicken dinner" from our favorite local spot, and I don't know how I will find room for my sweet tonight. Sigh...I should have started my own "33 day Fried Chicken cleanse", LOL.
For real, though--I think I want a Mexican Coca-Cola for a late night treat. That counts, right?0 -
You can always run around the block to offset extra treats....0

Oh, I did that already (day at the park with the kiddos--such a BEAUTIFUL day). Earned plenty of extra calories. I'm just physically stuffed, lol. That clearly means I MUST drink more calories--maybe some whiskey for the last 100 calories I've got to spend0 -
