Good Morning!
67 right now on the island, heading for 70+ later today. Bright sunny day. A bit breezy though.
Really late start, but we've both eaten now, so should be good to go later.
I think I'll start a load of laundry...sorry Ed, not doing yours! LOL!!! Wondering if J will come home with an orchid or two?!?!??!
No alligator sightings so far this trip! Usually this time of year I can usually find/see at least one!
Roger the Sweet Potato bread sounds Wonderful, but none for me thanks. Especially after this trip!! No meat, no 'obvious' egg...sugar✓ and salt✓ for sure! Will be time to watch my waist when I get home. (most likely for several weeks...I don't seem to drop weight like you did Roger)
Later...
STILL no baby giraffe.

Remember, even if the water isn't deep enough for sharks, it's deep enough for alligators!
You know, I'm beginning to suspect that giraffe is faking it! Maybe she's just really fat!

Good Saturday morning!
Packing up, soon to depart. Will catch up with you guys tomorrow.
The giraffe is preggers...should be popping soon! Probably do that on our 5-6 hour drive home! No alligator sightings this trip. There here, just not very active yet this spring. Lots and lots of turtles...and idiot people feeding them bread. Must be very dumb people, as 'don't feed signs are everywhere)
Jack gets a news paper thing from the island, and he tells me this has been a year for big sharks, never seen in this many numbers. I didn't get my feet wet except in my shower!!!
Ok
Later...

Howdy y'all. It's sensational Saturday!
Not a lot on the agenda today.
Clear the sink into the dishwasher, I've already fed Lilo and fed me breakfast.
I also watered the indoor plants, so I'm ahead of the game for the day, I think!

Hi
I was out walking today and did 7.7K steps, yesterday I ended the day with 11K steps, The temperature this morning was 50 degrees and is warmer than yesterday. I lightened up on what I wore which meant I was somewhat lighter while walking Rain showers are in the forecast for later today. It has been cloudy so far today.
Later today I plan to work on digitizing some more of the 78s and 33 1/3 RPM records. I am currently capturing a episode of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar.
Have a Great Weekend

You seem to be having great weather.
Did You really want to see Alligators on Your vacation?
Most if not all of what I dropped quickly was water weight, Once that is gone and it seems to take several days the weight loss really slows down.
If You have been enjoying the food on Your vacation I can see what You meanGardenKatGardens wrote: »Good Saturday morning!

Remember all those chicken legs I bought quite a while back?
Eduardo has been getting creative when possible, and tonight's Chicken Cacciatore was delicious. But in the long run, it's still chicken legs...

Hey! I'm home. Devil of a time getting home...construction had traffic sitting still for miles, WAZE alerted us, and the message board anounced we needed to exit the interstate! So we did. Only to run into more construction on the square in one town...but we did get back to Marietta's house, and I wanted to take Ted's fudge from the Island Fudge Shop to him, and get it away from ME! (sometimes I'm not exactly trustworthy with that kind of stuff)...then my DIL texted me as I was going thru Decatur, so I called her, and she wanted me to know there was an accident on I-85 and traffic was backed up...another potential mess...so I quick called Ted and suggested we go out to eat dinner when I got to his house ...
But what I really wanted you to know was I think I won the change pot...yesterday at StarBucks I went to sit down in an outdoor area, and I saw a bright shiny penny on one of the chair cushions, so being me, I went over to pick it up....only to find more coins on the patio concrete....So Roger, I ended up with 23 cents by walking about 100 ft! LOL!!!
Ok, I'm tired, I've got laundry going, I've fed and rocked Tom E. snacked on some humus, and I'm ready to go to bed..

Howdy y'all. it's scintillating Sunday!
58 out there now, high of 75 expected, with 40% chance of, mostly afternoon, showers.
Need to clear that sink one more time, into the dishwasher, and then maybe run the dishwasher.
J should be coming home from the Asheville show this evening. Not sure what time though. Maybe Eddie should do a quick house cleanup...along with getting the garbage and recycles to the curb, of course.

Hi
I was out walking today and did 8.1K steps + 1 Dime. The temperature this morning was 41 degrees and is 9 degrees cooler than yesterday. I added a layer to what I wore. Yesterdays rain showers from the forecast ended up as a drizzle AKA Fizzle.
While I was walking I stopped at the produce store and bough 4 Nice Green Pears, 4 Gala Apples, and 4 Nectarines.
Later today I plan to continue working on digitizing some more of the 78s and 33 1/3 RPM records. I am currently capturing a episode of Bulldog Drummond from January 1947.
Have a Great Sunday

Hi Valerie
You had some tough commute back home. I know exactly what You mean, Things I should not eat call my name with a siren song as I get near the room they are in.
I find a lot of the loose change the exact same way.
Have a Nice Day

Good Sunday Morning.
Well, I have one angry cat!! He swats and bites my shoes and sits right outside the back door. I foolishly left him and his food dish. water dish, etc outdoors last night....dratted raccoons have not forgotten my address for handouts. Grrrrrr.
Laundry in the dryer...lots to do. I did all the unpacking last night, except for my suitcase. So, that will be the chore today.
Rained last night at my house...have no idea how much, but everything is wet and leaves dripping etc this morning.
I need right now to focus on this other half of my cup of fully caffeinated coffee! Not wanting to actually wake this morning. Brain fog? Not surprised after a week at the beach, where I ate some mighty good food, (no meat etc), but flat breads, and rolls, etc I did not even eat my traditional meal of shrimp and scallops. Way too much salt in/on everything. No wonder people are sick from the food we eat! Good heavens........ oh, and oil. Yikes.

The rest of last night's Chicken Cacciatore will be today's lunch. I haven't counted to see just exactly how many packs of chicken legs are left in the freezer, but thought I saw two packs, four legs each still in there when I was poking around for something else the other day.
Recently I've had one pack just roasted, which were quite nice, and then last night was the one pack made into a quick Chicken Cacciatore.
I still have loads more of the thighs, but I'm trying to eliminate the legs first, and then move on to the thighs, my preferred cut of the dark side.
I'll ponder that as I sip my tea...Eduardo may have some ideas for the remaining legs. Or...GOOGLE SEARCH! I'm sure the people of the internet can assist on this.

Mmmm. As with many tomato sauced dishes, my Chicken Cacciatore leftovers were even TASTIER at lunch! Now I'm out of that.
Eduardo is thinking some kind of baked chicken and vegetables dish for the next package of legs...another check of the freezer found THREE more packs of the legs, so I pulled one out to thaw, possibly for tomorrow's dinner.

I think we need to have an 'Early Risers Chicken Leg' day for Ed!!! 3 more...still 2 in the freezer right? How about pulling the meat off of a baked pack and having Chicken Pot Pie? or Chicken and Dumplings?
I loved today's comic selections Roger, and Ed..yesterday's Ireland Foods was great. Sent it to my brother in MO and his family, they've all been twice and my niece has gone 3 times...she still shakes her head and wonders why we ever left Ireland! The food left my Colcannon in the dust! Though I'll continue to make it as its simple easy to make and good to boot!
Making progress. Laundry all washed and dried, Tom E's not only outside, but he's left the porch!
And if I forgot earlier....still no little giraffe. I did watch a video interview they did...April who is understandably a bit overweight now weighs a TON, and is about (forgot) will go back and listen again...lets just say she's too tall to play basketball!!! LOL!!
Just finishing lunch, and time to get back to unpacking...0 -

Hi
I was out walking today and did 7,650 steps. The temperature this morning was 40 degrees and and there is a light rain falling. I added the Frogg Toggs jacket to what I wore. The rain showers from the forecast had started by the time I was out the door and slowly increased while I was walking so I shortened my walk a little bit.
Today's plan is to continue working on digitizing some more of the 78s and 33 1/3 RPM records. I am currently capturing a episode of The Green Hornet called The Soldier and Hos Dog.
Have a Great Monday

Hi Valerie
I am not surprised that they appeared, They seem to have long memories as to where food is.
I had my Laundry washed, dried and folded by mid afternoon Sunday.
Sadly high Levels of salt appear in most foods that are prepared in the home. From watching the cooking contest shows on TV it seems that one of the most common criticisms of the food being judged is a lack of seasoning AKA Salt and not enough Heat. Salt seems to be used to enhance the taste of foods.GardenKatGardens wrote: »I think we need to have an 'Early Risers Chicken Leg' day for Ed!!! 3 more...still 2 in the freezer right? Have I ever mentioned that my brother prefers the Thighs too, He doesn't buy the legs even when on sale. He will eat them when he buys a whole cooked chicken however and I get the gift of free White meat off of it as a protein.parityanimal wrote: »Mmmm. Howdy y'all. It's marvelous Monday!
My cat, Lilo, would do her level best to eat that whole 25 pound turkey!
56 out there now and headed to a high of 76 with 40% chance of scattered showers.
Now that J is home I probably WILL do that laundry, since I can include whatever he brought back worn from his road trip.
Need to try to get to the store too, for milk if nothing else.
I'll probably cook that thawed package of chicken legs tonight. I can mix up some vegetables for roasting and put it in two pans. One without chicken for J and one WITH chicken for me. Eduardo thinks it's a good idea but hasn't quite worked out the seasoning/spicing yet. That will likely be a last minute toss together.
Then I'll be down to just two packs of chicken legs in the freezer, along with sever packs yet of thighs. I don't really regret buying the chicken legs, as they were like 39 cents a pound and my inner cheapskate insisted that with that price Eduardo could figure out ways to prepare 28 chicken legs over time and I could darn well eat them.
Sometimes I really dislike that inner cheapskate but I have to admit he saves me money in the long run and inexpensive chicken tastes just as good as expensive chicken, for the most part, even if it IS my least favorite part of the bird. Parts is parts, right?
I packaged them up four legs to a pack and thus had 7 packs of legs to prepare.
I'm actually rather impressed that I've eaten 4 packs, working on the fifth, and only have two left now in the freezer. I HAVE eaten some of the thighs in between too, but have been trying to pace myself on the thighs so that I'll be sure to eat up all the legs. Eat up the least favorite first and save most of the best for last!
I actually love chicken breast and wings, but the breast is the most expensive part, and I have to admit that the thighs do tend to carry more flavor, though at the cost of also containing more fat. And wings don't have a whole lot of meat on them so I tend to only have wings as part of a whole chicken, which Eduardo doesn't prepare all that often, because Eddie doesn't buy whole chickens that often. Of course when they are on sale for ridiculous prices a couple of them might find their way into the deep freeze! A whole chicken is really my preferred meat mix for a big pot of chicken and dumplings. My mother used to buy whole chickens, cut them up, and make fried chicken from them. Sometimes I'll buy one whole for chicken and dumplings, or buy a whole chicken, already cut up into 8 pieces, for the chicken and dumplings, as the parts are a bit easier, in some ways, to cram down into a pot for simmering.
OK. Let's find a funny or interesting video for today.
