I didn't bend down to confirm WHICH daffodils are scented, but something out there definitely is! This is the first year that the lenten rose has actually bloomed early in the year. It's been blooming in the fall, which was very weird. I did transplant it from Memphis, but really that shouldn't have affected it THAT much. I am pleased to say it's bigger and better looking than ever!

Eduardo almost had the night off tonight, but did insist on making large salads and two kinds of salad dressing. The salads had Bibb lettuce, tomato, white mushrooms, Italian cheese blend, fake bacon bits for J, real for me, and the last of a bag of garlic cheese croutons. Mine had a home made creamy Italian herb dressing and J's had home made thousand island type.

The reason Eduardo had MOST of the night off was that it's the end of what was a rather grueling work week for J and he wanted pizza tonight. Eduardo had NO issue with that, as long as we had salad first, and I didn't order the pizza until we had eaten the salad, to ensure that the salad was consumed.

Dominos had a good deal going so I had a medium "all the meat" thin crust pizza...well, I'l be having it again tomorrow. LOL. J had a medium double cheese thin crust, his favorite type of pizza, and he may eat the rest of his later tonight. I suspect he'll be having some tomorrow too though.

All of that with delivery charge, tax, and tip was a bit less than $22 so I was satisfied that we got a good deal.

Nearing bedtime here I think. No nap materialized today. I couldn't sleep this afternoon so gave it up.

    Howdy y'all. It's sensational Saturday!

Currently 60 out there and the high today is only supposed to be 61, with a low of 32 tonight! The REALLY cold temperatures aren't supposed to hit until the wee hours though. The high is supposed to be around 11:00 with gradual cooling after that.

Need to get the sink cleared of a little bit, but not much. Lilo and I have been fed. She insisted on getting up at 7:30, by climbing up on the headboard and being a vulture again. It's wonderful that, at her age, she is still limber enough to do that, but I'd rather she didn't...

J and I have this orchid thing at a private residence this morning at 11:00 so need to get moving I guess.

I think in the late 60s a Batbat could probably have been sold for twice the price of a plain old bat!
    Hi Ed
    Interesting thought.... Yup, Probably

At one time I used to think of Pizza as inexpensive hot food, No more...
Now for the that cost locally I can get two full Italian Pasta Dinners such as Chicken Parm and Sausage or Meatballs with the Pasta and a side of Garlic bread. I would have to pick it up as that Pizza place does not deliver. Despite that they have been in business for many years due to tasty Pizzas and Dinners.

    Cheers

P.S. I just saw a pop up that Ed has posted again :)

I think Roger, if my groceries ever total $440, I'll need to be resuscitated.!!!
    Great cartoons again today!
    Hi Valerie
I know if I ever see a grocery Bill that high they hopefully have someone there to restart my heart :)
    Good Morning! TGIF!
Tomorrow is last Hockey game of the season...kinda happy, kinda sad! LOL!!
Its already late morning...and I've already reheated the coffee once. One more time....
I think I'll leave the Scrapple and Blood Pudding for you guys...Advantage...Veganism!!! :)

70's again today. You'll find me outdoors! and at the gym.
Tom E's already outside and happy about it. Last night as I was getting ready for bed, he decided he wanted to go outside. Nope! Option would have been to leave him out overnight, but.....well, Nope.

I think I'm going to have to cook today...Like whole meals. I'm out of Whole Foods Hot Bar! Oh well, have to keep up my skills... :) Breakfast is on my mind right now.

Roger, I already am very good at showering before laundry, so I can launder 'everything'! It works!
I can't do cold coffee...my DS2 drinks his cold, yuck!

Dinner look mighty good last night Ed. Glad J liked it too! Always makes the cook feel better when dinner is a 'hit'!

    Later...

I'm with You, Cold Coffee Yuck!
I think the Scrapple and Blood pudding are both based on what the Poor could afford at one time.
Ok, the Southern food was fun! I loved the end..tastes good, makes you sleepy, nap time. Sounds about right! BUT...how could they have Moon Pie without having an R C COLA?????
That is just NOT southern! :)
I watched the food peeps are supposedly eating 'wrong' yesterday...eh, maybe.

    Now on to Russian Food....

R C Cola must be more a southern thing, We do have it here and it does not sell nearly as well as Pepsi & Coca Cola :)
    Dr. Pepper available by You?
Welllll, I know food is not plentiful like here, and many are poor, but so were they Irish, and other countries at one time or another....and they lived on things like corn or potatoes, or beans....but RAW PORK FAT..... That would induce a very long food fast for me. No, no, nope! Not happenin"! :)
I don't do tripe, scrapple, snake or roaches. I have eaten alligator, octopus, and a few other weird things...but....not raw pork fat YUCK!! LOL!

These have been fun. Now I don't think I need to heat up my dinner. Suddenly not so very hungry. (dinner eventually will be, baked potato with gravy, my last ear of corn, and leftover asparagus spears that I steamed yesterday.)

    Later. much later.
I'm with You, No way would I want to try any of the one ones You mention. Roaches, Yuck.
    Good Morning!
Early morning...hockey :) DS2 coming 'a bit early'??? I can't quite get my eyes open as it is....
    So, Off to the shower...

    Enjoy the Hockey

    Hi
I was out walking today and hit 9176 steps + 1 Cent. The temperature is 51 degrees vs 54 degrees yesterday and was not to bad while walking. I started to feel a little warm due to overdressing. I was wearing to much despite dropping another layer from yesterday :(

I came home and turned off the heat :)
    Have a Great Saturday
    Roger

There was a similar item on the Local Cable news Channel yesterday happening here in NJ :)

Hairdryers used to strike blow against speeders in Hopeman
    23 February 2017
From the section NE Scotland, Orkney & Shetland

Villagers dressed in fluorescent jackets are pointing hairdryers at cars to mimic police using speed cameras in a bid to deter fast drivers in Moray.

Residents of Hopeman fear someone could be seriously injured or killed by speeding drivers.

It follows concern about cars reaching speeds of up to 60mph as they travel through the area. There is a long straight leading out of the village.

Residents including children have now resorted to the hairdryers.

    'Please slow down'

Moray councillor Dennis Slater, who lives in Hopeman, told BBC Scotland: "It's very dangerous, the speed that the traffic is doing through Hopeman is quite serious, especially when the kids are going to school in the morning - it's quite alarming.

"This is why some of the residents have resorted to taking out hairdryers and putting on hi-vis vests to try to slow the traffic down.

"We don't like to be seen standing with hairdryers and hi-vis vests, we are trying to emphasise to people the desperate situation.

"Please slow down going through our community."

    'Aware of complaints'

Police Scotland said in a statement: "Road safety is a priority for Police Scotland, particularly for North East division.

"We are aware of complaints regarding speeding in Hopeman, which we are continuing to address.

"This aligns with one of our divisional priorities and supports Operation Cedar, which concentrates on reducing the number of serious and fatal road traffic incidents within the North East area."

Moray Council said it was a matter for Police Scotland.

Loved the cream colored daffodil! That's sweet! Does it smell? I have some that will bloom in a bit, and they are scented, single blooms, but multi blooms on each stem. AND...wow the Lenten Rose! Mine are either white or a mauveish color. Don't have any that are yellow. I may have to go shopping! :)
Thanks for sharing. Love seeing our yards!

    Later...

In prior years my lenten rose has always looked more greenish than yellow. It was late afternoon when I took the shot, but despite the lighting it DOES seem to me that it's got more yellow in it this year. It's just been surprising me all around this time! And in a very good way.

Howdy y'all. It's scintillating Sunday! 36 out there now with a high of 60 predicted for the day.

Need to clear the sink, but Lilo has been fed and I am partially fed.

Laundry, perhaps, if G doesn't come to visit and go out for lunch. And maybe even if she does.

She was supposed to go with us to P's house yesterday but then said she wasn't feeling up to it.

    We'll see...

    Good Sunday (lazy) morning!
I'm having a second cup of decaf??? So, I've been up for awhile, yes distracted by the internet and not much else to show for the past several hours....
Sink needs to be cleared...glad to see I'm not the only one on kitchen duty this morning Ed!!!
Have found a couple of recipe's I want to try so that may occupy the rest of the day.
Seriously considering doing what's popularly being called "batch cooking"...Except for the actual day of spending 3-4 hours cooking having already cooked meals for the WEEK would be quite nice! (they say 2-3, I just know I'm slow in the kitchen and, and, and will probably have to stop and wash a few items as I go along for re-use. Thinking, thinking, thinking...hmmmm!

No need today for laundry or running the sweeper so that's a plus. Need to check the TV schedule and see if there is a hockey game on that I'd like to watch...
A very smart old lady would also plan a trip to the gym....ugh...maybe..30% chance it will happen! LOL!!

How is your day going Roger? I'm expecting any minute now to see the little pop-up box telling me you've posted!

44 degrees right now, and sunny! May have to make an effort to be outdoors for at least half an hour today....

I"ve been watching a giraffe named April in a Zoo in NY someplace they're doing a 'live birth' streaming 24 hour. So far not much going on. Some of the chat comments are either maddening, or funny as all get out. I turn chat off when I 'get over the comments'.
I haven't looked this morning yet, could be a new reticulated giraffe in the world today, could be more waiting.... :) Just like 'regular' babies..the arrive on their own schedule!

    Later...
