Well, we had Pi. Pizza Pie AND white chocolate silk pie. J loves regular chocolate silk pie and when I saw the "limited time" white chocolate silk pie at Publix I just had to buy one. Not a full size pie, of course, but a small one. So I ate 1/4 of my meat, meat, meat pizza and some of the pie, along with some red wine. J had half his cheese, cheese, cheese pizza and some pie. No red wine.
It was a tasty dinner and we celebrated Pi day in style!

You celebrated Pi day in style. I keep seeing advertisements for three different Pizza Chains on the TV. If I end up watching them then they do their job and I want to order one
After watching the Dollar store breakfasts video which I disagree with FWIW I decided to pick them up since it has been a while since I ate them. What I will do is use them as a dinner since I am not a traditionalist that way. Where I disagree with the video is that I happen to like the Brown and Serve sausages used in them. I also microwave them since I am cheap and the cost of the electric for the MW is a lot less than using the electric oven for as long as it would be on preheating and the heating them up.
Have a Nice Day

Roger, Egg Beaters as I recall are egg whites??? So that's a no go, and the vegan egg is usually ground flax and water. Not exactly what I'd want to eat 'straight up'. I'll for go the cup...though...it could no doubt be recreated with tofu and some liquid adjustments...not really worth the trouble. I make a 'mean' tofu scramble...firm or extra firm tofu, and turmeric, and what ever makes you happy in scrambled egg...like onion, or peppers, or mushrooms, etc.
So I'm pretty sure that would work.
Also Roger when I read that you had issues with Cashews, it triggered a memory...so I did your research and found:
An allergic reaction to cashew may cause symptoms of hay fever or asthma when cashew nut allergens are inhaled or consumed. Runny or stuffy nose, itchy eyes, nose, itching on the roof of your mouth and coughing are common respiratory symptoms. ... People allergic to cashews may also experience stomach cramps or vomiting.Aug 14, 2017
Anacardiaceae. Cashews, Anacardium occidentale are in the same family as poison ivy and poison sumac. Like those plants, the cashew plant contains powerful chemical irritants known as anacardic acids, so handling and eating raw cashews will cause the familiar itchy skin reaction in people sensitive to the chemicals.Sep 6, 2013
So, I"m going to guess that you are allergic to Poison Ivy too? How about Mango? (mango seems to give people with PI issues a problem) So far I can eat Mango...but I really have to steer clear of the 3 leafed vine known as poison ivy!!!
I just took a look and You are correct they are egg whites, oops. So they sell the egg whites for more than the equal amount of eggs would cost and then use the Yolks to make more money
I have not had Mangos in quite a while and from memory I do not recall having issues from them, OTOH it took me many, many years to realize that Cashews caused a problem. I do not recollect ever having had Poison Ivy or Sumac.Ok, now I'll save this and to read Ed's contributions...OH, before I do, I laughed right out loud at the big cat looking into the cage of the Dwarf Guinea Pig! To the cat that must look like the equivalent of a 'mini snickers bar!!!' Poor little critter probably scared to pieces. Big ole bratty cat...
The Vegan lasagna sounds delicious, but it would take me half a day to make. It would have to be freezable, big time! Says it makes 10 servings...YIKES! I may just make some béchamel sauce as I need it. That is one really great sauce, easy to make and versatile!
I forgot to buy some Pi....how dumb can I be? Probably just as well though!
Woke to read the headlines about Stephen Hawking...so sad to lose such a great mind. Living 50+ years with ALS..that is an accomplishment.
Ok, here comes needy cat, fresh from about an hours nap.

How nice that You enjoyed the Cat picture, Sometimes it is hard to know what will work so the feedback is appreciated.
Oh well, Neither You nor I really need the empty calories in Pizza or other desert pies.
I did have one thought about Hawking, since he was where he could not talk how did he control the voice synthesizer ?

Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 32 out there now with an expected high of 65 and no chance of precipitation. I think they moved Atlanta to the Arctic Circle while I was asleep! To be fair, it never did get all that warm yesterday and I definitely noticed it while I was out. Don't think I HAVE to get out today but that doesn't mean I won't.
Leftover pizza for breakfast. Quite nice.
I need to get the sink cleared, get the cats fed, and I definitely want a nap today. Woke up about 4:00 this morning and had great trouble getting back to sleep. Dozed fitfully until 5ish (I remember seeing 4:50something on the clock) and then slept a little bit better, but still not all that well, until about 7:00.
Anyway, I've eaten so time to get lost on the net for a bit and then feed the cats. But first, another mug of tea.

Howdy y'all. It's fabulous Friday! 43 out there now with an expected high of 69 and 0% chance of rain.
Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls but otherwise the sink is cleared. And need to feed the cats in a while. I've had my breakfast. Last night I finished off my pizza and made pasta with marinara sauce and lots of sprinkled cheeses for J.
Need to get some shredded lettuce and make some bean and cheese taco boats for lunch or dinner. I'll think about that. I'm pretty sure I can get what I want at either Aldi or Publix. I already have the refried beans, and the shredded cheese so I just need some shredded lettuce and maybe some fine diced tomatoes. So I could get both and do my own shred and dice or I could go the lazy route and get them pre-done. I'll decide that later and whether I even want to get out today.

Once again You are having better weather than I.
Yesterday the day turned windy, Considering that the early morning when I was walking there was no breeze the midday wind gusts were surprising. Parts of the NY Metropolitan area had wind gusts in the 30+ MPH range with Newark, NJ hitting gusts of 39MPH.
Yesterday we precooked via boiling Potatoes, Cabbage and Corned Beef so that they will be a easy heat to eat.
Have a Good Day

Hi Valerie0

Howdy y'all. It's satisfying soggy Saturday! Happy Saint Patrick's day and Happy Saint Gertrude's day!
Saint Gertrude is the patron saint of cats and those who love them.
54 out there now with an expected high of 73 and 20% chance of rain. Well, either it has already rained or we had a VERY HEAVY DEW. The cars look rather wet from what I can see through the windows.
Corned beef hash (canned) for breakfast with eggs on top. I do have little cabbages (ok Brussels sprouts) for later and some more corned beef (canned, but not hash) as well. I looked at the corned beef rounds and briskets at the store and they just seemed way too pricey this year, and would also be more food than I really wanted. They do come out nicely in the slow cooker but I'm taking the lazy way out, hence the canned meat. I can actually make a rather nice dish with crumbled, canned (or home cooked) corned beef, potatoes (or turnips or rutabagas), cabbage (or Brussels sprouts) and then just go nuts with any additional vegetables if you like, such as onions, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.
I'll probably make it with just the big three, corned beef, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts, to have an uncomplicated but tasty dish. I also have some sauerkraut in the fridge if I want to add some actual cabbage.
J can have leftover Thai basil fried rice from last night's delivery. There's plenty of that.
I'll probably make some of my tasty Saint Patrick's day food...unless...G comes today. Yesterday J was saying that G might be coming today and if she does they'll want to eat at Dee Thai, because she always wants to eat there. And then we'll have even more leftover Thai food in the fridge, but that wouldn't really be a problem.
I've already had some corned beef, for breakfast and I can manage, I'm sure, to steam a few little cabbages later for a snack or something so I'll have had both on Saint Patrick's day.
Frankly, I'll be a bit surprised if she comes, as he often tells me on Friday that she might come on Saturday but then she doesn't. She only seems to comes, lately anyway, when I've got something else that I'd really rather do, and then end up not being able to do it...which actually raises the chance that she will come today. LOL. Of course J has no clue of my plans for St. Patrick's day dinner as he pays little to no attention to holiday food traditions, though he does understand about the BIG TWO. Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I did sample the Brussels sprouts yesterday at lunchtime, steaming a dozen to go with some baked chicken and a bit of stuffing/dressing. They were delicious. Still plenty left to have today and probably tomorrow and the next day! And I haven't even opened the one pound bag of sauerkraut yet, but you may be sure I'm not eating a whole pound of that at one sitting.
Need to clear the sink and feed the cats.

A little after the fact but I was so busy at the show that I never uploaded these pictures of the initial snack and beverage layout, for Thursday setup of the orchid show. I never took pictures at all of any of the later things, like the judges' breakfast, judges' lunch, vendors' lunch and volunteers' lunch, because I was so busy I just never thought of it! But they looked nice too...

And...here's today's Saint Patrick's Day lunch! J and G went on to an orchid place and when they get back we'll probably all go to the Farmers' Market. And then probably for Thai dinner, despite J having plenty of leftover fried rice already in the fridge. But that's OK, as it won't go to waste. I can guarantee that he'll eat it up.
And I have leftovers for another really nice plate of my lunch, probably tomorrow. I cooked some chunks of yellow potato in the microwave for five minutes to get them mostly done, then dumped a one pound bag of sauerkraut on top of that, followed by a big pile of shredded corned beef. Then I finished it all with twelve Brussels sprouts, covered it loosely with plastic wrap, and cooked it for five more minutes in the microwave. It came out nice and hot, and just needed a little salt and pepper added at the table.
Corned beef and cabbage (sauerkraut) AND Brussels sprouts (little cabbages!) and potatoes. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
