    Good Late afternoon/evening.
Just got home...What a funny day. I don't trust my 15 year old dishwasher, so it only runs while I'm around...thus when I started it last night I was setting myself up for a very late day....and you know that meant I slept quite late this morning. Was just getting ready to hop on the scale, and DIL texted to ask when I was planning to be out there, I answered 1-1:30...answer, could you be here at 12:30? Nate had 2 little boys visiting, and she wanted to do something with/for a friend...so I ate half my lunch, took the other half with me...beat it out to Sugar Hill...had a great day with all the kids. They're loud, but good kids. O's doing well with her sewing. so that's a good thing. Only once did I hear, I don't think I can do that, will you do that part for me Grammie? Answer was no! You can do it. And she did!!! Very proud of her.

I also stopped at Costco and bought my gas...I still had half a tank, but on the way I noticed several stations were selling for $1.99, so I knew Costco would be cheaper. And it was at $1.96. So it was worth stopping, as I was going right by it.

I will watch the video's while I eat my dinner...just wanted to stop in while I was listening to the evening news. (Ed, sadly, I can remember some of those foods). YUCK! :) Especially that green jello stuff. I wasn't a picky eater, but green jello, stewed tomatoes, and tapioca would stop me cold!

Roger, when those blackberries turn, be sure to take some great pix for us. Even with all the rain, mine never did become anything tasty or bigger in size. Off with their Heads!!!! :)

    Later...

    Hi Valerie
Sadly since they raised the gas tax here in NJ we are not one of the cheapest. The prices I have saw were $2.29 a gallon yesterday. I agree since it was not out of the way why not step there. We try and fill the tank when it gets to the 1/2 full point. Theory being that less air in the tank means less water condensing into the fuel amongst the reasons.

    Have a Nice Day

Good Morning! Right here behind you...I was about to begin my post when Roger's post popped up! :)

Today's list is rather short, but will consume some time....
    1. Remove everything from the refrigerator, clean shelves, walls, etc. Toss anything multicolored or iridescent, etc. Return items to refrigerator in some sort of order?
    2. Put that pocket on a pair of work shorts so I can take the cell phone with me while out doors. :)
    3. Over dinner consider making a shopping list for Wednesday!!! :)
    4. That's all folks, except for the usuals like feed the Wild Woods Cat...who just by luck has a 'T' name. (I didn't know that either Roger, and I agree Ed, Kiki may well be the call of the neighborhood feline crowd. :) )

Night time rains are the very best!! We're supposed to not see the wet stuff until Thursday afternoon. SO, the week looks like today's list, Wed. shopping, Thurs Morning no internet until lawn is cut and groomed, and trimming or whatever is done!!

Ok, I guess a bit of breakfast is in order, the little bit of coffee in my cup is cold, so I'll make a pot of tea, and get at that refrigerator chore.

Cats also seem to like names that end in an "ee" sound. That seems to be better documented than the K and T sounds in names. Perhaps we could just change her name from Beth to Bethie or Bethany. J likes Bethany and I like Bethie. Of course he gets to choose and even if he names her Bethany I could sometimes shorten it to Bethie. And we could still call her Beth and even if we don't officially change her name, I could call Beth by the name Bethie, as a nickname.

Well, it appears that someone else was in process on adopting the sweet cat we wanted, so the search is back on. We are planning to go back and make sure there wasn't a name mixup at the place and that she's not really still there, but we can also go to Lawrenceville and look at other shelters.

A kitten is not out of the picture, but we'll continue to look more at adult cats, as Jason wants a certain type of personality, and a lap cat or shoulder cat, that likes to stay close to him, not one that just wanders and does its own thing. While one can try to shape a kitten's personality in that direction, there are no guarantees. Additionally, adult cats are harder for the shelters to re-home, in general, than kittens.

I'm sure we'll find the right cat. It's just that we thought we already had.

AWWW...now thats a bummer! I hope Karma interferes, with the other adoption, and that Bethie, Bethany, Beth is patiently waiting to come to your house. But yes, there are many places to look for sweet cats needing a good home.

Howdy y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 64 out there now with an expected high of 85 and no chance of rain.

Absolutely going to the grocery today, after going to the doctor for diabetes checkup. I know I just went, but that was to a different doctor, for a "physical" that didn't really entail much, since others do most of the lab work.

Finished off the sliced ham for breakfast.

    Hi
I walked 7290 Steps AKA 3.25 miles according to the FitBit + 0 Cents during today's walk. The temperature this morning was 58 on the news channel and 56 degrees on the front porch with a decent humidity level once more. The Humidity and temperature are forecast to rise tomorrow :(

    Hi Valerie
You have something against rainbow colored foods ? :)

I have a short list for shopping so my plan is let my brother do it as one of the items is only found at the ShopRite. That being the not inexpensive 647 Bread, Preferred variety is the Italian followed by their Wheat bread.

We have a few small feathers on the Living Room Picture Window where another bird flew into it. We seem to have several a week that ricochet off it. I can be sitting there and hear a thump and look to see a bird flying away. Bugs seem to fly into it regularly too.

Cold Coffee, Yuck. I would have to Nuke it, AKA Microwave it :)

    Have a Nice Day

    Hi Ed
The things I do not know that amaze my brother with my not knowing them. I seem to have a few a week pop up that way.

When I stop and think about it, I am not surprised that someone else beat You to it, I would think a Sweet Cat would be a easy adoption compared to many cats. Kittens also since they can be appealing.

My doctor seems to like to do a yearly EKG and two or three times a year Blood Work. I find it surprising that You have different doctors for a Physical and Diabetes checkup. I guess I am easily surprised :)

It is hard to believe that the 4th of July is less than a week away, Where has the year gone?

I go to a specialist for my diabetes treatment. So what with this and that I seem to be seeing one doctor or another every several months at least.

Ophthalmologist is set for July 7.

    Its ED'S fault!!! LOL!!
I need to hop into the shower, and make like a bunny to the grocery store. I've watched making Hoe Cakes, (yes, I've heard all the jokes), and that led to Parching Corn, video one and two...and I've eaten breakfast while I watched...but short on time....
wanted to at least say hello....hope to be back after late lunch...
No Roger I have nothing against Rainbow Colors.... you silly goof!!! LOL!!! I just haven't buried my memories of church suppers, etc deep enough to forget that damn lime jello with either fruit cocktail from a can, or shredded carrots or pineapple....arggggg! :) You will not find lime jello in my kitchen!

    Later...

Well my endocrinologist thinks I'll live at least another 6 months. We made another appointment for December 28.

He also said I'd lost 12 pounds since my last visit and to keep up whatever I've been doing.

I've been splitting my blood pressure (20mg) pills for the last couple of weeks because my pressure was sometimes dropping dangerously low and the 10mg dosage seems to be doing fine. I discussed that with him and he agreed that the lower dosage seemed to be working well, and asked if I wanted a new prescription for 10mg but I said I'd just wait until I'd used up all the 20mg with splitting, and it would be a while before I needed one.

Then the vampires got me for lab work and I finally got the essential shopping done at Kroger on the way home, though I did stop briefly in at Petco just to look in the cat room and make sure I didn't see Beth still in there. I didn't, but the room wasn't open yet as the volunteer didn't come in until later.

There was another cat that showed some interest in us when we were there, who may be Beth's sister, but we didn't interact enough with her while in the room to know whether we might want that one, and whether she'd want us. She did see me in the window and sent a quizzical meow at me though. J and I might go back when a volunteer is there and see her again.

And...at Kroger I also happened to notice that they had meatloaf on the hot food line, which seems quite rare at that Kroger. Always chicken, chicken and another kind of chicken. So I got a meatloaf lunch. When I got home, I split the meatloaf, mac and cheese, and black eyed peas into TWO meals and put one in the refrigerator for dinner or maybe breakfast. $5.99 plus tax for two meals is not a bad deal at all. I made J a small pot of vegetarian chili for his lunch.

One large load of laundry, and the dishwasher, are going now.

I have apparently lost my post....
Just finishing my dinner (granola cereal with blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries), Tablespoon ground flax seeds and a splash of Almond milk! Lunch did not happen at my house today.

Glad you had a good visit at the doc's today Ed... Wouldn't it be neat to loose enough weight, and eat the right foods so you could defeat your diabetes???? Doable for over 80% of T2D. :)
I'd love to lose 12 pounds by the way. :) That's fantastic.

I watched the food video of somebody's Gramma's diary turned cook book. Didn't sound very promising. :) I remember making something similar when I was in high school...and thought it was delicious...though nobody ever asked for seconds!!! LOL!

Ok. I'm on my way to bed.
Oh, Jack did say O was very proud of her placemat that we made. It was a nice easy project and she learned a lot and quickly too!

    Ok....Later...

Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 70 degrees out there right now with an expected high of 82 and 60% chance of rain.

I finished off the meatloaf for last night's dinner so I'm pondering breakfast now.

Lilo got me up about quarter past six and apparently letting her out of the bedroom and trying to sneak back to bed just wasn't cutting it because she wasn't gone any time at all. When I didn't follow her (to prepare her canned food) she immediately came back and demanded that I come with her and get her breakfast.

I need to work on this timing. I do want her excited about her canned food, if only because it helps keep her more regular and I sprinkle her Cosequin (glucosamine supplement for joints) on the canned food but there was kibble available and she could have nibbled a little bit of that and waited at least a while longer. Maybe another hour?

Got all the laundry done AND folded and hung yesterday, and a bit of housework done too, along with the grocery shopping, so it was a pretty good day.

I think I'll take the day off today.

    And take a nap.

Irish people taste test American chili.

I almost had chili for breakfast but decided not.
