    Hi
I'm back from walking and no cents. The temperature this morning was 38 degrees. I shortened my walk today, I had thought that unheated Gloves would be adequate, Sadly I could feel my fingers getting too cold thus I short circuited my walk :(

An engineer dies and reports to the pearly gates.
St. Peter checks his dossier and says, “Ah, you’re an engineer — you’re in the wrong place.” So, the engineer reports to the gates of hell and is let in.
Pretty soon, the engineer gets dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell, and starts designing and building improvements. After a while, they’ve got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and the engineer is a pretty popular guy.
One day, God calls Satan up on the telephone and says with a sneer, “So, how’s it going down there in hell?” Satan replies, “Hey, things are going great. We’ve got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there’s no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next.”
God replies, “What??? You’ve got an engineer? That’s a mistake — he should never have gotten down there; send him up here.” Satan says, “No way. I like having an engineer on the staff, and I’m keeping him.”
God says, “Send him back up here or I’ll sue.”
Satan laughs uproariously and answers, “Yeah, right. And just where are YOU going to get a lawyer?!”

Dinner last night. Yellow eyed peas with plenty of ham from that meaty ham bone.

And yes, breakfast this morning too. Probably lunch as well. And maybe dinner again. And more tomorrow even! I cooked a whole pound of beans, so there is plenty. If I get tired of it, I can take a break to eat something else and then come back to it.
    Hi Ed
That is one of the uses for our Vacuum Sealer, We can seal and freeze Soups & stews as well as Meats.
I love Beans of all kinds cooked with Ham for taste.
    Howdy y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

45 out there now with an expected high of 60 and 50% chance of precipitation, presumably in the form of morning drizzle.

Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls and give the cats their breakfast. Then ponder running the dishwasher, as the big crock from the crock pot is in there taking up a lot of room.
Overnight there was a light rain and on the way out I was getting hit with a few stray drops that stopped around the time I stopped for coffee and it is now drying off outside.

    Have a Good Day

Howdy y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 49 out there now with an expected high of 68 and 0% chance of precipitation.

Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls and get the cats fed. And it sounds like a great day to go shopping so I might.

Definitely going to get some much needed housework done and try to take a nap this afternoon.

Well, so far Eddie got the kitchen floor swept and mopped. That was a chore and a half, with what the cats sometimes do to the kitchen floor. Don't ask.

On cool down mode now, sitting in front of a fan. LOL. And waiting for the kitchen floor to dry so I can put everything back down on the floor that need to be put back down.

More floors to sweep, of course. And bathrooms to clean. And vacuuming in the master bedroom and part of the master bath where there's carpet. This might not all get done today. Who am I kidding? This PROBABLY won't all get done today. But some more of it will. Just not sure how much. Definitely going to see that all the hardwood floors are swept.

All hardwood floors except the zen penguin room swept. The young cats wanted to play with the piles of sweepings but were diverted by several toys tossed into the kitchen. Need to spot mop the hardwood floors but will get to that. Oh, and the hall bathroom (tile) has been swept, but not, as yet, mopped. I think Eddie may be finished for today, though he may get started on knitting another cat from all the cat fur dust bunnies that were swept up.

And...hard wood floors mopped where needed. The vacuum in the carpeted areas, and the cleaning of the bathrooms will be another day. Not today.

Just finished off the beans and ham for dinner. There wasn't any cornbread left but I made a piece of 4 cheese sourdough toast to go with it. It was tasty.

And sipping the rest of the wine now.

    Hi
I'm back from walking and with 1 cent. The temperature this morning was 29 degrees.
The plan for the day is going to the Grocery Store, whether one or two I have not decided. I could stop at Whole Foods and pick up some bacon from the hot breakfast bar to use later this week or I could pick up the ShopRite Precooked bacon when I am there picking up water, Apples, Fresh Baby Carrots and Some Frozen Vegetables. I haven't decided, they are located a few minutes from each other despite being in adjacent towns.

I wish the house had the hardwood floors exposed and not covered with rugs. Much easier to clean hardwood IMO.

I am still undecided what surface we want to put in the kitchen as soon as the subfloor is repaired or replaced. My brother and I are torn between Hardwood, Linoleum, or Wood Look tiles, There are pluses and minuses to all the choices. Hardwood or Linoleum could be dented by a dropped Pan or heavy plate, OTOH easy cleaning. Tile could be chipped by something dropped on it so...

When our first house was sold and remodeled, to be resold, the realtors offered to let me see the remodeling and I took a look. At first I thought they had put hardwood flooring in the kitchen, which I thought might not be the best idea as it could get easily stained by spills, though it later occurred to me that if you have it well polyurethaned this might not be a problem.

It turned out they had put in the Wood Look tiles. I have to say that they looked GREAT and most people would probably not have realized that the floor wasn't wood without a close look or reaching down to feel it. Another possibility, of course, would be a poured floor, but that can be a bit tricky on a wood base.

I believe I'd go with hard wood, tightly interlinked and VERY well sealed with several coats of polyurethane. Anything will eventually get chips, dents, or little grooves, but this will give the floor character. So I'd say go with what you think looks the nicest.

    Good Morrning!
I have to help muddy the waters on the kitchen floor debate... :)
Consider Bamboo flooring. Very 'tough', great looking, and a renewable resource, easier to stand on than tile, OR take a good long look at cork flooring. I always wanted cork. Soft underfoot, but needs to be resealed on an annual basis, and maybe not a great choice if you're ecologically minded. I hate hardwood flooring...and I had beautiful maple hardwood in TN, which I promptly covered with wall to wall carpeting. Think about 2 little boys, kindergarten and 3rd grade and hardwood floors....NOPE!
    OK, back to my reading.....

Ok! All watched. I 'previewed' the liver and onions, which I happen to have loved as a kid. Especially if my grandmother cooked it! That little Irish lady could cook the very best liver and onions ever! :) She put a lot of black pepper in it...mmmmm. Oh well, when you think of what the liver does its best not to indulge. :( Not to mention its meat!

About to get dressed in street clothes, make a gym run, and a huge grocery run. Needing staples or "Pantry items" as they're now called! And Greens. I have no greens!! YYIKES!
I do have frozen veggies, and a few fresh ones, I also have 'some' banana's, and apples, and a few grapes, so I'm pretty good there..

Anyhow, will be a long day!

    Later...
BTW, it is beautiful outside this morning. We need a whole string of these days, but meanie old weather people say after Sunday rain and storms, yet Another cold front coming thru...I really do wish Winter would either die, or at least go into remission! I'm over the cold! :)

    Hi Ed
Hmm... Food for thought. Wood can take a dent and stay looking the same if a bit more rustic.

I have seen that type of tile in use at one of the local grocery Stores. It looks OK, OTOH that could be due to the color or the type of wood flooring copied.
I suppose he means, to hell with the deviled eggs? One of my grandmothers in law was extremely religious (married to a preacher) and always called them STUFFED eggs as she wasn't about to eat anything called deviled...

My Brother had bought a nice Silicon Hand held Squeegee to use in the shower after taking a shower and that helps keep any soap scum or film from building up. Hi Guys!
Heading for my shower...helpful hint I read a long time ago...cleaning showers and tubs..buy CHEAP shampoo to clean with. Shampoo is made to clean oils and 'scum', and works beautifully on my porcelain tub...I don't have a stand alone shower, so no real corners. Worth a try next time Ed. :)

Lots to do today, so I need to get started. And sometime this morning I want to make a tofu scramble as I've been wanting a breakfast burrito now for days!! Will have that for my lunch, and then clean the kitchen. Dinner tonite will be at Sweet Tomatoes. Its on my way to O's Gymnastics. And I have a FULL recycle bin, a stuffed garbage cart, a full 30 gallon bag of shredded paper, etc. to push, pull, drag, etc to the curb for tomorrow mornings pick up.

If I said a breakfast Burrito sounds delicious, I have all the making except the wrap to make it in :(

It sounds as if You have been busy with recycling and shredding
My brother uses the Kitchen Can bags for shredded paper. I on the other hand once I discovered that You can buy can liners for the shredder where I can just pull it out and use a twist tie use them.

Thanks for the Shampoo tip, I need to try that with the one shower that is a stand alone shower enclosure.

Howdy y'all. It's fantastic Friday! 50 now with an expected high of 78 and 0% chance of precipitation.

Need to get yesterday's cat bowls washed and get the cats fed. Still need those few items from the store and perhaps ingredients for some sort of casserole to bring to a party tonight.

J got back early in the morning from Kentucky and my sister in law is asleep in the guest room now. She won't be coming to the party, as she was sort of last minute and space is limited, so only those who had already RSVP'd will be attending. But she can entertain herself quite well at home. I'll make sure to buy something at the store, if I go, that she can eat for her dinner.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
