And I did post more humor today. enjoy

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning. The temperature this morning was 2 on the porch and 5 on the cable news channel. Thus it was colder but no worse walking as there was no wind :)

I am running late today, Yesterday My brother had a slight flicker in hi screen on the desktop computer. Today It was not working so I dragged out a spare Video Card that I had replaced on my computer as it worked great with Windows 7 and not well with Windows 10. That card meant I had to change the power supply to get the 6 pin power for it. Then Still no Joy so I brought in the Spare unused TV that has a VGA connection and Voila success. I left the old video card out as the cooling fan on it was not running and I was sure it would die sooner or later. The New Power supply is a spare Seasonic higher efficiency unit so I left it in too.
The General Tso's Chicken that my brother brought home from the Quick Chek seems to be a new item for them. I had two of them and they were OK, Looking at the Nutrition info on the box I see that the two I ate were 93 calories. I adjusted my noon snack to accommodate them. When I got on the scale this morning No Problem :)

    Good morning!

Tiring day cooking for church. I came home, napped and headed for small group. I did not do too well on the carbs today. Ready to have a very low carb day again!!

It was not too warm today as they had expected. But nowhere near your cold. It was however, better than it has been.

The earthquake article was interesting! The poor dog story was sad, but thankful someone found him. I hope he gets adopted by someone nice! :)

Glad you are back on track! Stay warm. Impressed by your electronics!! ...Jan

I am so sorry to hear this, too. You have such stress from your job and now this. I am sure it is impossible to really rest. I hope all this is treated and handled quickly. I think I would ask for something for anxiety. It may take a bit to find the right thing, but I can vouch it can help if you are patient and willing to try out some till you find what is best. I take a small dose of Effexor and it really helps. Hopefully they can knock that thrush out pretty fast. Is your B/P running high? I will add my prayers with Roger and pray for a speedy positive resolve. Don't lose heart! <3

    Good morning!
We are supposed to get some rain today. Still chilly. I would not like the mess you are getting! Your articles were great as usual. The cable story just makes me mad. I feel like the customers are just being exploited to make a few super rich. It serves them right customers are fleeing, but it is still we, the consumer, who is hurt the most in the long run. Interesting how phone and cable are so out of control as times have changed, They are not reasonable prices when compared to earnings..People fleeing Conn. is interesting too. We are just in a mess, honestly. Aren't N.J. taxes pretty high too? Ours are reasonable, but I wish people would accept a small increase for education down here. Some here are proud of their ignorance.

I still have a taste for some good homemade scalloped potatoes. With the weather, they may just get made, as it is chilly and dark and drizzly. But ready to move on and do better for the most part! LOL! :) Good job working in your non NS during the day!

Take care, especially with sleet! Good thing you bundle and pay attention. :# Thanks for the humor, too, they all were pretty funny! ...Jan

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning. The temperature this morning was 21 on the porch and 28 on the cable news channel. The weather moved in yesterday with a light fall of icy pellets. The temperature is forecast to be in the 40s later today. Despite the ice pellets that fell yesterday the walking was OK.

I just changed the battery in my little Fitbit Zip, when I looked at it before to see my steps for the morning I noticed it was showing a little Icon of a battery with a slash through it :(
Luckily the lat time I ordered batteries for it I got a two 6 card package of Duracell batteries for it that equaled 12 of the 2025 batteries it uses.

    Hi Jan
I put a lot of the blame for the increase in Cable & Satellite TV to the fees paid to the companies that own the content they broadcast.

NJ is Number One on the High Taxes list. Then The incoming Governor said during the campaigning that if he was elected he would push for more taxes :(

TBH Homemade Scalloped Potatoes sound pretty tasty. OTOH there are so many tasty foods and many of the best are fattening.

I plan to look into a low cost cell phone service with a cheap Flip phone. I have to replace my Land Line since at the end of the month Verizon is turning off land lines in this area. They are pushing the Fios service, No Thanks. IMO the reason for the push is to get Fios into all homes even if only for phone at the start. Then I am sure that the pressure to convert to Fios for Internet and TV will be even higher then it already is.

At least it was not bad here, I suspect that is because there was no rain in this area to turn to ice from the cold ground.

Thank You for the nice words about the humor.

    I also noticed this:

    Hi Val
I'm curious as to where the Aneurysm is, They can be a big problem depending on where. I suspect that Yours is not in a deadly area since You mention a ENT doctor.

I Hope You succeed in getting a early appointment

    Good morning!

Val, I hope you get in sooner to the doctor. It sounds just miserable. Continue to rest as much as possible! <3

It is another grey, dark and cloudy day. We had drizzle and light rain most of yesterday. The weather people keep saying we will have some sun and a few days warmer, but I feel we have not seen it yet. I think it was what they were wishing the weather was like. :#

Interesting articles, and I find the immortality one rather disturbing. Who wants to be melded to a machine or replaced by one. I think it would be of better use to find how to enjoy this life to the fullest and get along rather than live in some mechanized world. That's just me...

Glad you did not have a problem with your weather and walking was not a challenge. I keep teetering between a few lbs. and not losing new lbs. I keep getting sabotaged with cooking for others, and such. But I am still doing better than the holidays! :*

    Hi Jan
It is a nice looking day, OTOH it is still cold. Later today I will be off to the Bank, Costco and Post office to pick up stamps.

I have been doing OK resisting fattening foods lately. I did lose a whopping 1/4 pound this morning from yesterdays weighing.

I knew I should go to ER but couldn’t decide between a new ER (they wouldn’t know what was wrong) vs. going back to the undesirable hospital. So I didn’t go. Not as bad today! Called infection doctor to request sooner appointment...seeing them tomorrow at 11. The aneurysm is deep and at the top of sinuses. When it bursts it bleeds out the nose (so far). Yesterday the sun was bright in the morning and my Brother started out with Sunglasses for his running around, By the time he got back home it was a cloudy day.

A torch to kill a spider, What a Maroon :)

Just another reason not to eat Raw Oysters IMO.

I blame the advertising on the so called national obesity epidemic. Try turning on the TV to watch something and not see food advertisements. IMO that is a big contributor to weight gain. I see things on the TV and the cravings start :)

I'm sorry to hear that You are still having these issues :(
I am familiar with doing nothing when I could not decide on which of two courses of action presented themselves to me. I wonder if a new ER could request the records from the other one ?

I wondered about that aneurysm's location. That could still be serious IMO. As a Youngster I had a nose bleed that put me in the hospital.

Good Luck at the infection doctors.

Val, I am so sorry! I am kind of surprised by the lack of speed that they are employing. This seems like treatment should be very urgent. Also,it seems they should be scanning your body, too, for signs of other aneurysms. So glad you were able to be seen sooner! Thinking and praying ! <3

Saw infection doctor...feels great to be in competent hands! Reason for my vomiting mucus is thrush is all down throat and coating stomach...on pill for that. Ran blood tests, Sat get new CT of abdomen to see status/progess of abscess and phlegmons. Seeing her again in a week...and she said if worse call and she’ll get me in sooner. Exhausted from 3-hour outing. She agreed I’m in no condition to work and tentatively put my return to work 1/29.

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning. The temperature this morning was 44 on the porch and 45 on the cable news channel. I was overdressed when I went out to walk. I should not have worn the Hoodie under the Rain gear which turned out to be unneeded as the rain has not arrived yet.
I did some more running around yesterday. I stopped at the Post office and mailed off a payment that used my last stamp and then I bought a book of stamps. Next stop was the barber shop and as it was Noon I ended up with some Thai food, Chicken Pad Thai which is less starchy than Chicken See Yew. The scale was not bad this morning :)
